Anderson - James Leonard Riddle, 79, of Anderson, husband of Edith Turner Riddle, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at AnMed Health Medical Center. born on February 8, 1928 in Greenville, he was the son of the late Perry and Floy Parker Riddle. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and retired form Owens-Corning Fiberglass. Surviving are his wife, Edith of the home; daughter, Lynn Green and her husband Jimmy of Williamston; son, Randy Riddle and his wife Carla of Anderson; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters Elizabeth Grisham of Greenville and Evelyn McDowell of Greenville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son James Alan Riddle. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, April 29 at Graceland cemetery on White Horse Rd. with Michael Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6pm Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 Hwy 81 North. The family is at their respective homes. Flowers are accepted. August 12, 1936-April 26, 2007 PELZER - James Stanley Taylor, 70, husband of Thelma Louise Henderson Taylor, of 15 Frost Street, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late James Murphy and Eunice Morgan Taylor. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served in the State Guard, retired from the S. C. Highway Department and worked at Hardee's in Pelzer and Piedmont, and was a Baptist. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, James Jeffrey Taylor, Randy Derrick Taylor, both of Pelzer; daughters, Rhonda Taylor Ingram of Piedmont, Rita Smith White of Pelzer; sister, Beverly Taylor Edens of Pickens; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Samuel Gilbert Taylor and Timothy Earl Taylor. Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial will follow in Pine Lawn cemetery. The family is at the home of Rita White, 13 Stewart Street, Pelzer and will receive friends 1-3 pm Saturday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

ROYSTON, GA - Mr. Jesse Wilson Simpson, III, 61, of 2508 Highway 17 South, Royston, Ga. died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston, Ga. Mr. Simpson was born in Anderson, SC., son of the late Jesse Wilson Simpson, Jr. and the late Dorothy Lee Milford Simpson Adams. He was a farmer and a member of the Iva First Baptist Church. Mr. Simpson was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force. ANDERSON, SC - Mr. Julian Edward Winiarski, age 71, of 1601 North Boulevard died on Friday, April 27, 2007 at his residence. born in Lockport, New York on May 12, 1935 he was a son of the late Theophil Winiarski and the late Mary Szymanski Winiarski. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics; he also received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles. Following college, he served in the United States Navy. He was an employee of Mobil Corporation and during his tenure, he was a United States delegate to the International Labor Organization, United Nations Branch. He also served as Vice President to the International Ship Owners Federation. He was also the Chairman of the Labor Committee to the Liberian Ship Owners Council. Mr. Winiarski retired as a Human Resource Executive from Mobil Oil Company. Following retirement, he and his wife Mary Hiott Winiarski returned to her home, Anderson. He was a member of the Anderson Country Club and a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church. Mr. Winiarski is survived by his wife, Mary H. Winiarski of the home; two daughters: Amy Wells and her husband, Jeremy Wells and their son, Zachary Wells of Carbondale, Illinois and Mary Jo Winiarski and her husband, Daniel Heffernan of New York City; and one son, Phillip Winiarski and his wife, Mary Beth Winiarski and their children, Daniel and Kristin Winiarski of Jamison, Pennsylvania; one sister, Marie Suprinick of Buffalo, New York and one brother, James Winiarski of Marion, North Carolina. The Funeral Service will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 3:30pm on Sunday, April 29, 2007 with The Reverend John B. Hardaway, IV. ANDERSON, SC - Mr. Gordon Eugene “Tony” Jennings, age 65, of 204 Kitty Corner Circle, Iva, SC, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson. born in Oconee County, South Carolina, on January 17, 1942, Mr. Jennings was a son of the late William H. Jennings and the late Lillian Hunnicutt Jennings. He was retired and attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple. Survivors include his daughters, Debra Jennings McCoy of Honea Path, SC; Diane Massey of Bowman, GA; Lisa Jennings Norris of Belton, SC, and Crystal Whitaker of Iva, SC; one brother, William C. Jennings of Anderson, SC, and sisters, Shirley Freeman, Ellen JoBeth Jennings and Sarah Jennings all of Anderson, SC, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. CENTRAL - William (Nig) Sexton, 87, of 593 Silver Creek Road, Widower of Hazel Louise Pinion Sexton, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at The Hospice House in Anderson. He was a native of Pickens County and was the son of the late Claude and Betty Martin Sexton. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. He is survived by daughter Joan Nix (Rev. Roger) of Warrenville, SC; sons, Woody (Amelia) of Liberty, Don of the home, Gene (Kathy), Jimmy, Troy (Lisa), Phil (Kathy) all of Central; daughter-in-law Gail Sexton of Anderson; brothers, Buck of Dacusville and Buddy of Liberty, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter Carolyn and son William Jr., brothers, Casey and Sam and sisters, Margaret Elrod and Eloise Wilhoit. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 3pm in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home followed by interment at Camp Creek Baptist Church cemetery. WESTMINSTER — Sylvia Judith Sublette Bennett passed away peacefully in her sleep, at her home April 14, 2007 after an extended illness, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born in the USAF Base hospital at Wright-Patterson, Ohio on September 27, 1960 to Julia Rose Wright Sublette and Richard Ashmore Sublette.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Samuel Bennett. Sylvia leaves behind her parents, brothers Christopher Mark Sublette of Falls Church Virginia, Wright Daniel Sublette of Shalimar Florida, Carey Patrick Sublette and his wife Catherine Dovel and their daughters Cayley and Kedron Sublette of Rancho Cucamonga California.
She also leaves behind Uncles and Aunts, Colonel Richard R. Simpson and Sarah W. Simpson of Upatoi, Georgia and Joseph Shepard Sublette and Janet B. Sublette of Sumter South Carolina.
Sylvia, being the daughter of a career Air Force officer, spent time between moves in Westminster, S.C. with her two grandmothers, Jessie Ava Tannery Sublette and Anne Belle Watkins Wright. From one she learned of a generous spirit and the love of gardening and cooking, from the other she learned the joy of laughter and beauty of a trained singing voice.
When in elementary school in California she was identified as an academically gifted student. Later at Meigs Junior High School in Shalimar, Florida she was singled out for her achievements academically, her leadership ability and her athletic ability. Gifted with a fine singing voice, she won the Choctawhatchee High School talent contest in 1977 and studied voice with Trudie Sherwood at Pensacola Junior College.
She sang in the choirs at Shalimar United Methodist Church and the Trinity UMC of Fort Walton Beach and recently at the Shalimar Presbyterian Church where she was a member.
She served as a counselor on the crisis line for the Bridgeway Center and was honored in 2005 as the outstanding mental health volunteer for the year by the Mental Health Association of Okaloosa/Walton Counties, Florida. Before her death she was serving as a volunteer at the Bridgeway Mental Health Center of Fort Walton Beach and was looking forward to more job training she was to receive in Pensacola, in May.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Westminster First Baptist Church Memorial Park with Dr. George A. Harper of the Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sandifer Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45.

Mr. Cribbe died at home on Saturday, April 28, 2007. born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Walter W. and Ethel McAllum Cribbe. A WW II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served at Guadalcanal.
Mr. Cribbe retired from The State newspaper.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Leigh Cribbe; sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Olin and Yong Cribbe of Olympia, Wash. and Terrel Earl and Beth Cribbe of Anderson; daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Jacob Briggs of Sugar Hill, Ga. and Patricia and Frank Cruz of Blythewood; stepdaughter, Carolyn Wilson and her husband, Burton, of Union; stepsons, Everett Leigh, David Leigh and his wife, Lisa, and Robert Leigh, all of Union; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Holmes Simons and Barbara and Robert L. Gaines, all of Anderson; fourteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Sukustis, Aline Delaney and Lois Carter and brother, Julian Cribbe.

ANDERSON — Maxie Gambrell Cromer, of Anderson, widow of Wade Gilmer Cromer, Sr., died Friday, April 27, 2007 at her residence.
born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Lillian Brooks Gambrell. She was a retired third grade teacher in Anderson School District Five with 30 years service. She was the oldest member of St. John’s United Methodist Church where, until recently, she was an active member of the Mary O. Holler Sunday School Class, Circle # 2, and the Happy Group. She taught Sunday School for 20 years.
She is survived by two sons, Wade Gilmer Cromer, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Anderson, and Max Gambrell Cromer, Sr. and his wife, Sandi of Soddy Daisy, TN; a daughter, Joanne Calhoun and her husband, Henry of Spartanburg; nine grandchildren, Kristin Elrod, Lauren Cromer, Courtney Grimes, Max Cromer, Jr., Susan Griffith, Rachel Cromer, Tami Massey, Rafe Calhoun, and Jason Calhoun; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Dot Gunnin of Colorado, and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Hester Wollstein of Pendleton.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, June Cromer, four brothers and five sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at St. John’s United Methodist Church conducted by Dr. William R. Childs. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. A family committal service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park prior to the service. The family is at the residence.

A native of Fair Play, SC, Mr. Johnson was the son of Michael Ray Johnson and Jane Marie Groomes. He had worked as a plumber with his brother, Joe, for G & M Construction Company.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson is survived by his son: Evan Johnson, Oakway, SC and a brother: Joe Johnson, Seneca, SC.

BELTON — William Clinton King (Bird), 56, husband of Debra Ballard King of 110 Rock Springs Rd. died Friday, April 27, 2007 at his residence.
born in Clinton, SC, he was the son of Eunice Waddell King and the late Lawrence Clinton King. He was a member of Williamston Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served in the Army National Guard.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are: sons; Clint King and David King both of Belton; daughter, Rita Lindsay of Belton; grandchildren, Tony Lee Ruth, Bailee King, Mikey Lindsay, Dusty Lindsay, Caitlynn Lindsay and Jessi Rae King all of Belton; brother, Bobby Ray King of Belton; sister, Patricia Vaughn of Belton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Clinton King and nephew, Shane Ray King.
