HUBERT W. LARK
PICKENS, SC — Hubert William Lark, 90, of 101 Blue Ridge Drive, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007 after several years of declining health.
born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late James Noah Lark and Elizabeth Garrett Lark Winchester.
Mr. Lark was retired from Platt Saco-Lowell in Easley. He was a member of Pickens First Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Mary Holder Lark; a daughter, Penny Lark and husband, Gary Douty, of Greenville; a son, Ronny Lark and wife, Jean, of Pickens; two grandchildren, Patrick Lark and wife, Amy, and Jessica Morris and husband, T.R; five great grandchildren; and three brothers, Milford Lark of Pickens, Fred Lark of Greenville and Earl Lark of Anderson.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Dewey Lark.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 4:00 PM in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at Dillard Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home.

PELZER — Toni Levette Hendricks McClain, 74, wife of Bobby R. McClain, of 55 Evans McClain Road, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
born in Raleigh, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Bunyon Hendricks and Mary Louree Elrod Turner. She was formerly employed by J. P. Stevens in Piedmont and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Jimmy Evans, Susan and Jimmy Reid, all of Pelzer, Joyce and Hal Head of Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Bunyon R. and Trish McClain of Williamston; sisters, Edith “Eckie” McClain of Piedmont, Evelyn Burton of West Pelzer; brother, Bill Hendricks of Washington State; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the Rev. Jimmy McClain and the Rev. Chad Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery.
The family is at the home of Connie and Jimmy Evans, 50 Evans McClain Road, Pelzer, and will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
MARK TWAIN POORE
HONEA PATH — Mark Twain Poore, 69, husband of Jewel Ashley Poore of 1157 Rocky Ford Rd. Honea Path, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at his residence.
born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Leland R. and Helen Bannister Poore. He is a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He retired as a Warden with the SC Forestry Commission and was also a farmer. He was an officer and served on the Board of Directors for Friendship Fire Department.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: sons; Shane and wife Amy Poore of Honea Path and Lee Poore of Honea Path; brothers, Wilford and Phillip Poore both of Honea Path; sister, Joan Phillips of W. Pelzer; grandchildren, Ranson and Odessa Poore.
Services will be held 3:30pm Sunday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Brian Saxon officiating. Burial will follow at Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 2pm until 3:15pm at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church Playground Fund.
The family will be at the residence.

PELZER — Audrey Nell Martin Sutherland, 70, wife of Norris Ross Sutherland, of 116 Whitten Road, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Blease and Ruth Dalrymple Martin. She was the teacher of the three year old class at New Hope Baptist Church Day Care and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Pelzer.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Marla Sutherland Chandler and John Thomas Chandler of Anderson; son and daughter-in-law, David Martin and Sallie Foster Sutherland of Williamston; sisters, Wanda Giles, Mildred Cox, Helen Griffith, all of Williamston; grandchildren, Blake Sutherland, Ashley Chandler, and John Adam Chandler; and aunt, Sara Hickman of Pelzer.
She was predeceased by a son, Norris Randall Sutherland; and a sister, Carolyn Sutherland.
Funeral services will be 3 pm Sunday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the Rev. Richard Burton and the Rev. Bill Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.

ANDERSON, SC — Mr. Julian Edward Winiarski, age 71, of 1601 North Boulevard died on Friday, April 27, 2007 at his residence.
born in Lockport, New York on May 12, 1935 he was a son of the late Theophil Winiarski and the late Mary Szymanski Winiarski. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics; he also received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles. Following college, he served in the United States Navy. He was an employee of Mobil Corporation and during his tenure, he was a United States delegate to the International Labor Organization, United Nations Branch. He also served as Vice President to the International Ship Owners Federation. He was also the Chairman of the Labor Committee to the Liberian Ship Owners Council. Mr. Winiarski retired as a Human Resource Executive from Mobil Oil Company. Following retirement, he and his wife Mary Hiott Winiarski returned to her home, Anderson. He was a member of the Anderson Country Club and a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church.
Mr. Winiarski is survived by his wife, Mary H. Winiarski of the home; two daughters: Amy Wells and her husband, Jeremy Wells and their son, Zachary Wells of Carbondale, Illinois and Mary Jo Winiarski and her husband, Daniel Heffernan of New York City; and one son, Phillip Winiarski and his wife, Mary Beth Winiarski and their children, Daniel and Kristin Winiarski of Jamison, Pennsylvania; one sister, Marie Suprinick of Buffalo, New York and one brother, James Winiarski of Marion, North Carolina.
The Funeral Service will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 3:30pm on Sunday, April 29, 2007 with The Reverend John B. Hardaway, IV.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Sunday, April 29, 2007.

MELISSA GREER POLSKY, ABBEVILLE, SC
Melissa Greer Polsky, age 27, passed away Friday, April 20th at 11 a.m. at Carolina’s Medical Center after a courageous and spirited battle with cancer. Melissa was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Melissa’s zest for life and her love for Jesus Christ encompassed all of what she lived for. She was an inspiration to everyone she met and will forever rest in the hearts and souls of everyone she touched with her grace and dignity.
Melissa was born in Anderson, SC, on August 12, 1979. Melissa grew up in Abbeville, South Carolina and graduated valedictorian from Dixie High School in 1997 and served as Student Body President. She was a Palmetto Fellow Scholar. Melissa graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina in 2001. In 2003, she earned a Master’s degree in Geo-sciences with an emphasis in Meteorology from Mississippi State University, graduating with top honors, where she worked as a graduate teaching assistant for Introduction to World Geography Classes.
While attending Mississippi State University, Melissa worked as the Morning Meteorologist for WCBI-TV in Columbus, Mississippi, where she produced and anchored the morning weather segment. Upon graduation, she accepted the Weekend Meteorologist position with WTVC-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During her time at WTVC, she filled-in as Anchor for “News Channel 9 for Women, ” a half hour program devoted to important issues pertinent to women. Melissa joined WBTV in January 2004 and anchored weekend weather coverage. She worked in conjunction with the WBTV weather team, covering a wide variety of severe weather situations over the years. She also visited children at local schools, telling them about the science of weather.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Roger Lee Polsky and son Connor Edward Polsky, a brother Bradford Clark Greer and nephew Ciaran Doggart Greer of Columbia, SC, her sister Brittany Elizabeth Greer of Honea Path, SC., and her loving parents Rev. Marion Terry Greer and Martha Clark Greer of Honea Path, SC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Hillary Doggart Greer and her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. James Alvin Greer, Jr. of Belton, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. VR Clark of Honea Path, SC and the late Janie Ruth Shearer Greer of Belton, SC.
Melissa’s Memorial Service is Tuesday at 2:00 p.m, at Church of the Holy Comforter 2701 Park Road Charlotte, NC 28209. in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the fund of Connor and Melissa for medical bills.
The family visitation will be held in Abbeville at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, 208 S. Main St., on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
