Mountain Rest, SC—James Donald Eller, Sr., 47, of 11376 Highlands Hwy. Mountain Rest, SC died Sunday, May 4, 2003.
A native of Oconee County, Mr. Eller was the son of the late A. J. Eller and Ruth Lusk Eller Byrd. He was self employed as a handyman and was of the Baptist faith..

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Bountyland Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the James Donald Eller Memorial Fund PO Box 1106 West Union, SC 29696.
The family is at their respective homes.

Bobby Darrin Blackwell
WALHALLA --- Bobby Darrin Blackwell, 39, husband of the late Teresa Ann Couch Blackwell, of 195 Cassidy Bridge Road, Mountain Rest, SC died Saturday, May 3, 2003.
A native of Oconee County, Mr. Blackwell was the son of the late Ernest Blackwell and Annie Pearl Young Blackwell Cobb. He was an employee of Square D. Company and was of the Church of God Church faith.
Survivors include:

Brother: Ernest Keith Blackwell - Fort Mill, SC

Pam Burrell - Walhalla, SC
Phyllis Smith - Abbeville, SC
Debra Blackston Liberty, SC
Granddaughter: Kaitlyn Elaine Barkley Walhalla, SC
Graveside services will be conducted at 4:30 PM Thursday, May 8, 2003 at West View cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Pam Burrell 361 Snead Road, Walhalla, SC.

Debra Quarles Ward
WALHALLA, SC — Debra Quarles Ward, 46, wife of Joseph F. Ward of 260 Pickett Post Road, Walhalla, SC died Saturday, May 03, 2003 at her residence.
A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Ward was the daughter of Glenn and Bernice Pearson Quarles. She was a homemaker and was a member of College Street Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ward is survived by:

Daughter: Kelly White Price and husband Bradley - Easley, SC
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2003 at College Street Baptist Church with burial in Oconee Memorial Park.
The body is at the Davenport Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday May 4, 2003.
The family is at the residence.

Allan Knudsen
Westminster, SC—Allan Conrad Knudsen, 75, husband of Phillis Mae Bootz Knudsen, of 113 Wintergreen Court, Westminster, SC, died Friday, May 02, 2003 at his residence.
A native of Milwaukee, WI, Mr. Knudsen was the son of the late Conrad and Elvadora Petersen Knudsen. He was a retired mechanical engineer and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Knudsen is survived by:

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Walhalla.

Everett Bernice Witt
Everett Bernice Witt, 88, of Barnwell, died July 6, 2010 at University Hospital in Augusta Ga.
Funeral service was held July 9 in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel with the burial following in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Witt was born March 20, 1922 in Saluda. He was the son of the late John Martin Witt and Eula Cockrell Witt. He attended the First Assembly of God in Barnwell. He was a World War II veteran, having been stationed in England as a corporal with Army Air Corps military police. After the war, he was employed as an electrician at the Navy Yard in Charleston. In 1952 he moved his family to Barnwell to work at the Savannah River Plant until he retired in 1978. He was the owner and operator of Witt’s Small Engine Sales and Service for more than 20 years. He was predeceased by five brothers, Heber Fletcher Witt, John Calvin Witt, William Lee Witt, Grady Lee Witt and Marion Witt, all of Saluda and two sisters, Emmie Sue Dodgen of Greenwood and Grace Ouzt of Saluda.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances Adams Witt of the home; one daughter, Marie (Jerry) Morris of Barnwell; one son, Raymond (Sandra) Witt of Seneca; five sisters, Ethel McDowell and Verdelia King of Saluda, Mae Huggins of Johnsonville, Reba (Ronnie) Wright of Belvedere and Rachel (Howard) Bentley of Trenton; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters, Finley Caroline Morris and Regina Elizabeth Witt and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God, Marlboro St., Barnwell, S.C. 29812

Andrew Neal ‘Andy’ Williams
Andrew Neal “Andy” Williams, 62, of Williston, died July 12, 2010 at his residence.
Graveside funeral service with full military honors was July 15 at the Williams family cemetery in Springfield. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Williams was born in Orangeburg County. He was a son of the late Coker and Freda Neal Williams. He was an army veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was formerly employed with Jacob’s Construction in Charleston. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springfield and the Dean Swamp Masonic Lodge #172 in Salley.
Survivors include Beatrice Larney of Williston; one daughter, Mary Coker (PJ) Choplin of Columbia; two sons, Andrew Neal Williams Jr. of Columbia and Lacy (Courtney) Williams of Clemson; one sister, Susan Hijazi and four grandchildren.

Rose Priester
Rose Mary Caliope Joubert Reed Priester, 79, died July 14, 2010.
Funeral service was held July 16 at Lebby Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell with burial in the Hope Memorial Park. Lebby Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Priester was born Sept. 9, 1930 in Boston, Mass. She was married to the late Hazel Reed and John Priester.
Survivors include her children, Karen Spooner, Robin Reed, Jeannie (Harry) Savage, Emma Reed, Gabe (Cathy) Priester, Antoinette (Alexis) Caraballo and Anthony (Leonora) Priester; stepchildren, Leon Reed, Albert Reed, the Rev. Ollie Dixon, Inez Branch, John Priester; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Curtis Pressey
Curtis Pressey, 58, of Blackville, died July 3, 2010.
Funeral service was held July 10 at Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville with burial in the church cemetery. Washington Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Pressey was born Aug. 28, 1951 in Blackville. He was the son of George Pressey Sr. and the late Dorothy Hughes Pressey. He lived for extended periods in Atlanta, Ga. and Los Angeles, Calif. where he was employed as a master fabricator for Thatcher Glass Company for over 10 years. He was a member of Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Ebonie Necole Pressey of Columbia; one son, Dantel (Reco) Robinson of Blackville; four sisters, Elouise Raysor of Blackville, Zelma (Harold) Harvey of Greenville, Texas, Josephine Pressey of Brentwood, N. Y. and Mary Kirkland of Blackville; four brothers, Lloyd (Christine) Pressey of Brooklyn, N.Y., Eugene Pressey of Blackville, Willie Edward (Sarah) Pressey of Deer Park, N.Y. and Charles Michael Pressey of Aiken and two grandchildren.

Toby Joe ‘T.J.’ Sanders
Toby Joe “T.J.” Sanders, 96, died July 14, 2010.
Funeral service was held July 17 at Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Leroy Dodson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Sanders was born July 21, 1913 in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Milledge and Mary Still Sanders. He was a retired employee of Ducane Corp. and a farmer. He was a member of Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. He and his wife gave the property for Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was predeceased by a son, McGee Sanders Sr.
Survivors include his wife of almost 73 years, Ethel Mae Sanders; one son, Bill Sanders; one daughter, Virgie Ray, all of Barnwell; one sister, Nina Ray of Barnwell; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Virgil O’Neal ‘BoPeep’ Barr
Virgil O’Neal “BoPeep” Barr, 84, of Springfield, died July 13, 2010.
Funeral service was held July 16, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Springfield with the burial following in the Springfield cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Barr was born in Springfield. He was the son of the late Herman Carroll Barr and Ruby Caughman Barr. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for more than 30 years. He was a self-employed farmer and also worked for Duct Tape and Bailing Wire Inc. and Folk Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Wheeler Barr.
Survivors include his wife, Ray Hallman Barr of the home, one daughter, Joan Jeffcoat of Lexington; two sons, Timmy (Margaret Ann) Barr and James Brown; all of Springfield; two brothers, Billy (Lois) Barr and Allen “Tom” (Betty) Barr; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 537 Long Point Road, Suite 203, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464 or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 150 High Cotton Lane, Springfield, S.C. 29146.

Jeanette Ridgeway Flanigan
Jeanette Ridgeway Flanigan, 66, died July 15, 2010 at the Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral service was held July 18 at the Barnwell First Baptist Church chapel with the Rev. Posey Belcher officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memorial cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Flanigan was born Dec. 5, 1943 in Rantowles. She was the daughter of the late James I. and Ida Wood Ridgeway. She was a retired employee of the Savannah River Plant.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Flanigan of Williston; three sons, Bryan (Mindy) Flanigan of Barnwell, Blake (Amy) Flanigan of Satellite Beach, Fla. and Bruce Flanigan of Ellenboro, N.C.; two sisters, Evelyn (Bethea) Roberson of Summerton and Annette (Robbie) Adams of Charleston; three brothers, Bob Ridgeway of Santee, Jack (Emma) Ridgeway of Aiken and Arnold (Carol) Ridgeway of Lincolnton Ga. and four grandchildren.
