Ken W. Wood, 59, died Aug. 29, 2009 at MCG, Augusta, Ga.
Funeral service was held Sept. 1 at the Mole Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell, with the Rev. Thomas Terry officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd., Barnwell. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wood was born Oct. 1, 1949 in Fayetteville Ark. He was the son of Burcille Cupp Wood and the late Charles E. Wood Sr. He retired from SRS as a rigger with 35 years service. He was a member of the Blackville First Baptist Church.
Beatrice O. Trottie
Beatrice O. Trottie, died Aug. 19, 2009 at the Barnwell County Hospital.
Funeral service was held Aug. 24 at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Isaiah Odom officiating. Burial was in the Hope memorial Park, Barnwell. The Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Trottie was born Aug. 28, 1913 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Deacon James and Lillie Garrett O'Neal. She was married
to the late Charlie Trottie Jr. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, was a member of the senior choir and household of Ruth No. 4087.
Michael Ray Peters
Michael Ray Peters, 37, of Blackville, died Aug. 25, 2009.
Funeral service was held Aug. 28 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in The Williston cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Peters was born in Maryland. He was the son of Dewain Peters and Brenda Owens Peters Barnes.

Mr. Green was the son of Joseph and Ruth Kirkland Green.

Mr. Huggins was born Feb. 17, 1971 in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was the son of Patricia Huggins Bowens.
Melvin Bell
Melvin "Bookie" Bell, 71 of North Augusta died Oct. 9, 2009.
Graveside memorial service was held Oct. 17 at the Williston cemetery, Williston, with Military Rites accorded.
Mr. Bell was born in Fernandina Beach, Fla. He was the son of the late Leroy and Mamie Hair Bell. He was an Air Force veteran and a retired hair stylist, having owned and operated Hair Unlimited in North Augusta for a number of years. He was predeceased by a brothers, James Franklin Bell and Vernon (Ray) Bell.

Luretha "Red" Copeland-Jennings, 74, of Jonesboro, Ga., formerly of Blackville, died Oct. 13, 2009 at her residence.

Mr. Tobin was born Dec. 29, 1947 in Salley. He was the son of Florrie Quattlebaum Tobin and the late Timothy Tobin Sr. He served in the Vietnam War as a paratrooper for the 173D Airborne Brigade.
Valarie Carrigg Ferguson
Valarie Carrigg Ferguson, 36, of Aiken, died Oct. 7, 2009.
Memorial service was held Oct. 10 at Redds Branch Baptist Church. Interment was private. George Funeral Home and Cremation Center was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Ferguson was born in Barnwell. She was the daughter of David and Mary Williams Carrigg. She moved to Aiken in 1991. She was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church, Aiken Jaycees, and the Natchez Indian Tribe.
Mary Lila Hartzog Still
Mary Lila Hartzog "Granny" Still, 93, of Barnwell died Nov. 13, 2009.
Funeral service was held Nov. 16 at Double Pond Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Still was born in Blackville. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Ellen Hartzog. She was married
to the late James Aaron Still. She was a homemaker, helped her husband on their farm and was a member of Double Pond Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Vernice Still Long and a grandson, Kenneth H. Long.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Joye L. (Ronnie) Newsome; great grandchildren, Kelly T. Brailsford, Kenneth J. Long, Ronnie Newsome, Jr., April Newsome and several nieces and nephews.
