Nellie Ruth Wood Carrigg
Nellie Ruth Wood Carrigg, 84, of Florence and formerly of Blackville, died Nov. 11, 2010.
Graveside service was held Nov. 14 in the Blackville cemetery, Blackville. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Carrigg was born in Bamberg County. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Lillie Mae Padgett Wood. She was the widow of William Wallace Carrigg. She was predeceased by three sons, Manley, Luther and Sammy Carrigg.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie (Vickie) Carrigg of Florence; one daughter in law, Hazel Carrigg of Florence; one brother, Norman “Buddy” (Sally) Wood of Dallas Texas and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John Coleman Brabham
John Coleman Brabham, 53, of Ulmer, died Nov. 13, 2010.
Graveside service was held Nov. 16 at Great Salkehatchie Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Fred Orr officiating. Keith Smith Funeral Service of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Brabham was the son of Bernice Deer Brabham and the late Coleman Googe Brabham. He was employed with Roclon Mills as an electrician and he was a member or Great Salkehatchie Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Bernice Deer Brabham; two daughters, Niki B. (Allen) Goodson and Cheyenne Brabham, all of Ulmer.

Eunice Creech
Eunice Creech, 87, of Barnwell, died Oct. 30, 2010.
Funeral service was held Nov. 6 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Snelling with the Rev. John Young officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park, Barnwell. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Creech was born April 23, 1923 in Barnwell. She was the daughter of the late Lilla Glover.
Survivors include one brother, John Pete (Susie) Glover; a special cousin, Cleo Saunders; five nephews; one niece; four cousins and special friends, Willie Bee Rouse and Willie Lue Baxley and other relatives and friends.
Emaleen Corley Kneece Orrock
Emaleen Corley Kneece Orrock, 77, of Lexington, died Nov. 7, 2010.
Graveside service was held Nov. 12 at the Blackville cemetery, Blackville. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Orrock, was born in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Hugh Reeder and Mazie Roberts Corley. She was first married
to the late Dr. James Frank Kneece and was the widow of John Henry Orrock. She formerly taught public school in Barnwell and was a pharmacist having worked for a number of pharmacies including Epps Pharmacy and Winn Army Hospital at Fort Stewart, Ga.
Survivors include sons, Steve C. Kneece of Newberry, Daniel R. Kneece of Los Angeles, Calif. and Drs. Robert H. (Shilpa Srinivasan) Kneece of Columbia; one grandson.

Teddy W. ‘Woody’ Hutto
Teddy W.”Woody” Hutto, 66, of Augusta, Ga., formerly of Modoc, died Nov. 9, 2010 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
Graveside service was held Nov. 11 at the Ghent’s Branch Baptist Church cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hutto was born on July 18, 1944 in Bamberg County. He was the son of the late Fred H. and Lila Ray Hutto. He was predeceased by a sister, Christine Posey and brothers, Charles, Fred Jr., Dan, Carl, and Bobby Hutto. He was a member of the Martinez Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Freddie Hutto; one brother, Willie Hutto of Augusta Ga.; two sisters, Lila Reese and Susan Hutto of Orangeburg; an aunt, Margaret Hutto of Denmark and many nieces and nephews.
Elmore Jenkins
Elmore Jenkins, 70, died April 17, 2011 at the Aiken Regional Hospital in Aiken.
Funeral service was held April 23 at Union Branch Baptist Church, Williston with the Revs. James B. Moody and Barney Glover officiating. Burial was in the Fair Branch Baptist Church cemetery. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jenkins was born Feb. 1, 1941. He was the son of the late Hettie Kennedy Jenkins and Taft Jenkins Sr. He was an employee wit the South Carolina Department of Transportation for 32 years. He was a member of Union Branch Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Alice Glover Jenkins; two children, Mary Alice Jenkins Sherman and Taft Jenkins III; one grandchild, TreyJ. Sherma; three brothers, Willie Roy Jenkins, Taft Jenkions Jr. and Ralph Jenkins.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Middleton, Flossie Carter, Roslyn Solomon of Barnwell and Dedra (Dwayne) Hartzog of West Columbia; three sons, Elmore Jenkins Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., Sammie (Marie) Mays and Shaquill Jenkins, all of Barnwell; four sisters, Thelma Odom of Overbrook Hills, Pa., Geneva Jenkins of Ellenwood, Ga., Beatrice (John Emmitt, Jr.) Bonaparte of St. Matthews and Lydia Locke of Ellenwood, Ga.; one brother, Alfonza Jenkins of Barnwell; eight sisters-in-law, Lorine Thompson, Mae Helen Glover, Dorothy Crawford and Clara Mae Glover, all of Fort Myers, Fla., Lessie Burns of Cory, Ala., Viola Poke of Milwaukee, Wis., Juliette G. Williams and Minnie Odom, both of Barnwell; one brother-in-law, Willie Lee Glover of Williston; two aunts; one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lucille Towne McDonald
Lucille Towne McDonald, 89, of Martin, died April 22, 2011 at the Barnwell County Nursing Home, Barnwell.
Funeral service was held April 24 at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel in Barnwell with the Rev. Rommie Martin officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Mountain Baptist Church cemetery, Martin. Dyches Funeral and Crematory was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. McDonald was a native of Dunbarton. She was the daughter of the late Willie Marion Towne and Eather Mae Duncan. She worked for Lightsey Brothers in Miley for 55 years. She was member of Pleasant Mountain Baptist Church and also attended services at Lower Three Runs Baptist Church. She was a 64-year member of Lillie Chapter No. 27, Order of the Eastern Star and was Worthy Matron five times and Grand Martha. She served as district deputy Grand Matron of the 13th District and Grand Representative of Louisiana, Kentucky and Wyoming. She was predeceased by two sisters, Frances T. Handberry and Essie T. Baxter and one brother, Edward W. Towne.
Survivors include one sister, Margie T. Duncan of Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph Earl ‘Joel’ Beasley
Joseph Earl “Joel” Beasley, 31, of Barnwell, died April 23, 2011 of injuries received in an auto accident.
Graveside service was held on today, April 27 in the Barnwell County Memorial cemetery at the airport. Dr. Ken Catoe officiated. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Beasley was born July 6, 1979 in Augusta Ga. He was the son of Karl Beasley and Brenda McLaughlin. He was a Satellite Communications Installer. He was predeceased by his brother, Chad Beasley and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Ruby Beasley.
Survivors include his wife, Sierra McKeithen Beasley of Edgefield; children, Jaye and Josie Beasley of Barnwell and Jayelynn Beasley of Edgefield; his parents, Brenda McLaughlin of Barnwell and Karl and Patricia Beasley of Santee; three brothers, Seth Beasley and Corey McLaughlin of Barnwell and Michael Davis of Williston; paternal grandparents, Earl and Williemae Beasley of Williston.
Loretta McBride Black
Loretta McBride Black, 75, of Hilda, died April 21, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral service was held April 23 in the Hilda First Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Black was born July 18, 1935 in Leaksville, N.C. She was the daughter of the late R.M. and Hazel Morrison McBride. She was the widow of Etheridge Black. She was a dietician and retired from the Barnwell County Nursing Home. She was a member of Harmony Hope Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Hilda First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn (Wanda) Black and Barry (Sabrina) Black of Hilda and Reynolds (Lisa) Black of Barnwell; one sister, Myrna Sue (Ray) Still of Hilda; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Benny Wright
Bennie Wright, 68, of Barnwell, died April 15, , 2011 at his residence.
Funeral service was held April 18 at Union United Methodist Church, Kline with the Rev. Joseph Abram Jr. officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Allendale Community Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wright was born May 30, 1942 in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Tillman and Eve Sanders Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wright of the home; two daughters, Felicia Wright (Alvan) Turner of Winnsboro and Machell Wright (Henry) Mims of Graniteville; one sister, Shirley T. Williams of Kline; two brothers, Tillman (Lola) Wright Jr. of Kline and S. Grover (Lindell) Wright of Queens, N.Y.; two uncles and a host of relatives and friends.
Clay Calvin Robinson Sr.
Clay Calvin Robinson Sr., 75, of Blackville, died April 9, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken.
Funeral service was held April 14 at Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville, with the Rev. McKinley Neal officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park cemetery, Barnwell. Dash’s Funeral Home of Blackville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Robinson was born in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Ellen (Goodwin) Duncan and Bethune Duncan. He was a member of Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville. He worked as a machine manufacturer for the Dixie-Narco Corporation in Williston.
He was predeceased by a son, Keith Robinson; brothers, Johnny Duncan and George Duncan; and a sister, Beatrice Kitt.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia L. Robinson; two sons, Clay Calvin (Natalie Howard-Robinson) Robinson Jr. of Waldorf, Md. And Jackie Robinson of Larenceville, Ga.; one daughter, Stephanie (Anthony) Baxter of Norcross, Ga.; one sister, Mary Robinson of Orangeburg; three sisters-in-law, Janie Colman, Gertrude Mays and Laddie Salley; five brothers-in-law, Sam, Randy and Bennie Salley of Blackville, and Willie and John Salley of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Margaret Rash Mack
Margaret Rash Mack, of Williston, died April 16, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral service was held April 19 at the First Baptist Church of Williston with Dr. Michael A. Blankenship officiating. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Mack was the daughter of the late Ernest Hugo and Francella Caldwell Rast of West Columbia, and the granddaughter of the late George Bascomb and Margaret Till Rast of Cameron and the late John Andrew and Effie Mathis Caldwell of Lancaster. She was the widow of Karl Edward Mack Sr. She was employed for 13 years with the IRS and retired after 30 years from Williston-Elko District 29 as project coordinator. She was also a free lance writer, a member of the First Baptist Church, Williston, taught adult Sunday school, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and adult education, was a member of Aiken Christian Women’s Club, Humanities Council, Friends of the Library and the Arts Council of Barnwell.
She was predeceased by a sister, Martha Elizabeth and brother, John Caldwell Rast and dear wife, Sylvia.
Survivors include sons, Karl Edward (Donna) Mack Jr. of Harbor Island, William Caldwell (Beth) Mack of North Augusta, and Paul Rast (Renee) Mack of Aiken; godchild, Gail Nickens Blanding; sisters, Ernestine “Tina” Sharpe, Betty (Dan) Lee, Shirley (Tommy) Peagler and Mary (Robert) Corley; brothers, George E. Newton Chesser Jr., 65, of Barnwell, died April 15, 2011 at Laurel Baye Healthcare, Blackville.

Mr. Chesser was born March 29, 1946 in Hampton County. He was the son of the late Newton and Luna Mae Futch Chesser Sr. He was a retired as a truck driver in the construction field.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Gooding Chesser of Barnwell; one son, Michael R. Stanley of Barnwell; one daughter, Angela Ruth Doe of Barnwell; one brother, Robert Chesser of Harlem, Ga. and four grandchildren.
Mary Louis McMillan
Mary Louis McMillan, 62, died April 14, 2011 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Mrs. McMillan was born Nov. 10, 1948 in Charleston. She was the daughter of the late Ruthie Mae Rickenbacker. She was a member of City of Refuge Ministries in Denmark.
Survivors include one son, James McMillan III of Bamberg; three brothers, Harold (Sue) Rickenbacker of Charleston, Leroy (Amy Bradley) Rickenbacker of Denmark and James (Bridgett) Rickenbacker of Charleston; one sister, Yvonne (Woody) O’Dell; a devoted aunt, Deloris Rickenbacker; two lifelong friends, Evelyn “Pumpkin: Harris and Angela “Peaches” Midgette and one grandson and many relatives and friends.
