Gladys Fowler Lee
Gladys Fowler Lee, 69, of Gilbert, died Sept. 28, 2010.
Funeral service was held Sept. 30 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Rev. Bobby Frederick officiating. Burial was in the Williston cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Lee was born in Laurens. She was the daughter of the late Ed Fowler and Amelia Kemp Fowler Scott. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Zachary Lee.
Survivors include her husband, of over 50 years, J. Wendell Lee; son Randy (Ann) Lee, grandsons Cody and Dustin of Lexington; daughter Adrianne (Murray) Bazemore, grandchildren Morgan and Nicholas of Pelion; son Greg (Stephany) Lee, grandsons Carson, Spencer, and Preston of Lexington; daughter Stacey Lee Sawyer, grandsons Andrew and Joshua of Gilbert; her faithful companions Sweetpea and Cricket. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Walker of Williston; mother-in-law, Lila Lee of Williston; sisters-in-law Lila Simmons of Williston and Shirley (Wayne) Pitts of Graniteville; one nephew and nine nieces.

Hermene Sanders O'Neal
Hermene Sanders O'Neal, 78, of Fairfax, died Sept. 28, 2010 at her residence.
Memorial service was held Oct. 1 at Bellinger Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Preveaux and the Rev. Doctor James F. Norris III officiating. A private burial was at the Fairfax cemetery. Keith Smith Funeral Service of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. O'Neal was a native of Fairfax. She was the daughter of the late Cleo Herman and Fannie Wilson Sanders. She was the widow of Furman Googe O'Neal, Sr. She was a registered nurse having worked for Dr. W.R. Tuten, Sr. and Dr. W.R. "Buck" Tuten and Allendale Health Department. After her retirement she became a member of the Allendale County Hospital Board serving over 15 years most recently as vice-chairman. She was a member of Bellinger Chapel United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by one sister, Margaret S. Hughes.
Survivors include one son, Furman Googe (Chip) O'Neal, Jr.; one daughter, Marianne O'Neal; step mother, Geraldine F. Sanders; two sisters, Betty S. (Will) Gordon and Mary Ann S. (Jim) Boles and two granddaughters, Lindsey and Ashton O'Neal.

Frances Rebecca Still
Frances Rebecca Still, 83, of Barnwell, died Sept. 10, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Orangeburg.
Mrs. Still was born March 4, 1927 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Amon Kirby and Ida Grubbs Still. She was the widow of Russell Still. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making quilt and crafts. She was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church. She was predeceased by a son Russell Amon Still.
Funeral service was held Oct. 3 at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with the Revs. Harry Warren and Alfred Still and Deacon Jack Beaver officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy A. (Barbara) Still, Frankie A. Still and Mike (Wanda) Still of Barnwell; three daughters, Marilyn (Terry) Martin of Orangeburg, Faye (Billy Ray) Williams of Neeses and Hazel Still Sanders of Barnwell; two sisters, Laverna Still and Ruby Still of Barnwell; four brothers, Elmer Still, Kirby Still and Merrice Still, of Barnwell and Obie Still of Hilda; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Erline Black Williams
Mrs. Erline Black Williams, 88, of Blackville, died Sept. 28, 2010 at the Martha Franks Retirement Center, Laurens.
Funeral service was held at Oct. 1 at Blackville First Baptist Church with the Revs. Ken Frederick, Thomas Terry, and Billy Mew officiating. Burial was in the Blackville cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Williams was born April 17, 1922 in Bamberg County. She was the daughter of the late Earlell K. and Mamie Crim Black. She retired from Milliken Co. She was a member of the Blackville First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class and was the Black family historian. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Wetzell Williams and a sister, Helen Black Joyner.
Survivors include three daughters, Celeste (Jim) Wilder of Laurens and Aurelia W. Fennell of Belmont N.C. and Connie (Harold) Young of Port Orange Fla.; one sister, Eleanor Black Peck of Hilda; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

John Benjamin Gadson
John Benjamin Gadson, 62, of Barnwell, died Sept. 25, 2010.
Funeral service was held Sept. 30 at Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Barnwell, with the Rev. Eugene Keitt Jr. officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites was held in the Hope Memorial Gardens, Barnwell. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gadson was born Nov. 9, 1947 in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Matlion Washington-Holman-Gadson-Jenkins and the late Arthur Gadson Sr. He was drafted in the United States Army, served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He was later employed with the Barnwell Board of Disabilities and Special Services where he served as transportation director. At the time of his demise he was employed as the regional manager-Barnwell of On Watch Security Agency. He was a member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church where he worked on various auxiliary boards and was currently serving as chairman of the board of deacons. He was the coordinator of the church's annual harvest program. He was also involved and active in the American Legion organization, was a member of Brickyard lodge No. 55 AASRM, and was worshipful master for a number of years. He was a member of and held an office in the following: Napoleon Reed chapter No. 7 Royal Arch Masons, Minus-Johnson-Stephens Knights Templar, John B. Gadson Consistory No. 2 and was the current Potentate of Omar Temple No. 110, Ancient Arabic Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He was also affiliated with several of the female houses to include having served as Worthy Patron for Pilgrim Chapter No. 7 of Barnwell and was the present Grand Worthy Joshua for Victoria Grand Court, Heroines of Jericho. He was often known as the Grand Senior Warden and a member of the Executive Board of the Most Worshipful Williams Grand Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Scottish Rite. He was predeceased by several siblings, Ethel Mae Holman, Willie Holman Jr. and Brooker T. Gadson.
Survivors include his wife, Martha M. Gadson; children, Tami (Jerome) Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Keisha (Rodney) Gaskin of Rock Hill; five brothers and sisters, Albert (Lugenia) Holman of Blackville, Isadore (Eva Lou) Gadson of West Palm Beach, Fla., Elease (Sammie, Sr.) Kingdom of Riveria Beach, Fla., Patricia (Donald) Jackson of Jamaica, N. J., Peggy Gadson Kirkland, Luther (Louise) Gadson and William Henry Jenkins, all of Barnwell; three step sisters, Agnes J. (Cleveland) Roundtree, Grace J. Keech and Leila J. Odom, all of Barnwell; three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Sara G. Thomas
Sara Camille Griffin Thomas, 97, died Oct. 1, 2010.
Graveside service was held Oct. 5 at the Great Saltkehatchie cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Thomas was born Dec. 13, 1912, near Ulmer. She was the daughter of the late John Matthew and Mary Pauline Griffin. She was the widow of Harry Johnny Thomas, Sr. Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by three children, H.J. (Jacky) Thomas Jr., James Donald (Don) Thomas, Sr., and Sara Thomas England, one daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Rayner Thomas, one son-in-law, Dr. James E. England, Jr., one grandson, James E. (Jimmy) England III, one great-grandson, William Thomas (Billy) Stone, one sister, Mary Edith Griffin and two brothers, Arthur Cave Griffin and John Myrick Griffin.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Mike) Herring of Bamberg and Camille Thomas of Barnwell, one daughter-in-law, Jo Ellen Reeves Thomas of Allendale, nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Robert Haskel ‘DoRob' Weathers
Robert Haskel "DoRob" Weathers, 58, of Brunson, died Oct. 2, 2010.
Memorial service was held today, Oct. 6 at Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville. Keith Smith Funeral Service of Allendale was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Weathers was a native of Harleyville. He was the son of Roy and Mary Parlor Weathers. He was a master carpenter and owner of Low Country Carpentry.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Weathers; one daughter, Leslie Weathers Miley (Hudson); one brother, Todd Shannon; three sisters, Denise Dancha, Lori Shannon, and Ann Shannon and one granddaughter.
Florrie Rachel Carter Dooley
Florrie Rachel Carter Dooley, 96, of Barnwell, died Oct. 2, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Oct. 5 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Dillon with the Revs. Dr. Charles F. Dooley, Dexter Lambert, Edgar Foster and Billy McLellan officiating. Burial was in the Greenlawn cemetery, Dillon. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Dooley was born in Marion. She was the daughter of the late Mike and Bertha Christmas Carter. She was married
to the late Melvin Charles Dooley. She was a retired LPN having worked at Marion Memorial Hospital for many years and formerly worked for Bell South Telephone Company. She served in the Christian ministry for over 55 years, was in the senior adult Lighthouse Sunday school class, formally taught the teen boys Sunday school class, was director of the woman's missionary union, girls auxiliary, vacation Bible school and Christian education director and was in the adult choir. She served as a Cub Scout den mother and was a Boy Scout leader. She was predeceased by brothers, Harry, Bryan, Luke and Foster Carter.
Survivors include one son, Charles (Janice) Dooley Sr. of Barnwell; one sister, Christine (Leon) Morris of Dillon; one brother, Don (Carol) Dooley of Sellersburg, Ind.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Lizzie Sweat and special friends, Elizabeth Cook, Rita Edwards and Phyllis Barry.
Horace Lotts Jr.
Horace Lotts Jr., 41, of Ulmer, died Sept. 29, 2010 at the Aiken Regional Medial Centers.
Funeral service was held Oct. 3 at Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Barnwell with the Rev. Isaiah Bussey officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Lotts was the son of Willie Mae Stokes Lotts and the late Horace Lotts Sr. He was a self-employed satellite installer. He served as an usher at Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include eight children, Tei'Yannah Ling and Leonard Busby of the home, Anthony Sanders, Anthony Rice, Devonte Rice and Ella Rice, all of Allendale, Kendrell Frazier of Barnwell and Keyna Creech of Kline; his mother of the home; six brothers, Jonathan (Gloria) Lott and Eric Lott, both of Ulmer, Mark Lott and Alex Cohen, both of Allendale, Jermaine Felder of Denmark and Ervin Felder of Orangeburg; seven sisters, Ktelia Lotts of Barnwell, Loretta Lotts and Theresa Faust of Columbia, Pam Joyner of Blackville, Shannon Felder, Tracy Felder and Melissa Crosby, all of Bamberg; two brothers-in-law, Jaycee Faust Jr. and Byron Hogg, both of Barnwell; a special friend, Cleartrice Clark of Kline; one grandson; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Frances Eloise Johnson Pennington Perkins
Frances Eloise Johnson Pennington Perkins, 94, of Aiken died Sept. 19, 2010.
Funeral service was held Sept. 22 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with burial in the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church cemetery, Windsor. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Aiken County. She was a daughter of the late Norman S. Johnson, Sr. and Sally Bell Baker Johnson. She was first married
to the late Woodrow Wilson Pennington and was widow of Leland Perkins. She was a retired LPN having worked at the Aiken Hospital and the New Ellenton Geriatric Center and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. She was predeceased by sisters, Lois Files, Florine Pitts; brother, Norman Sidney Johnson, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Roger (Joyce) Pennington of Aiken and Gary (Diane) Rish of Windsor; seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Virginia Anne Easterling of Atlanta, Ga., died Sept. 18, 2010
Funeral service was held Sept. 24 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Elmwood cemetery.
Ms. Easterling was born Sept. 1, 1957, in Hampton County. She was the daughter of Lee and Marylyn Fleming Easterling Sr. Her career in bank regulation included long-time employment with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Eugene M. and Mabel Easterling; Astor and Estelle Fleming, all formerly of Columbia.
Survivors include her parents of Summerville; one brother, Bill Easterling Jr. of Gaston; uncles, Rusty Fleming (Catherine) of Brunswick, Ga., Eugene M. Easterling Jr. (Martha) of Barnwell; and many beloved cousins.

Sallie Mae Hoover Brant Goodson, 90, of Ulmer died Sept. 10, 2010, at Jolly Acres Nursing Home in Orangeburg.

Mrs. Goodson was a native of Allendale County. She was the daughter of the late William W. and Eugenia Bazzle Hoover. She was a member of Great Saltkehatchie Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth (Michael) Jeffcoat of Livingston; two granddaughters, Michelle (Michael) Sanders of Barnwell and Melissa Creech of Charleston; two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, all of Barnwell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kella Cleo Mundy Hatcher
Cleo Mundy Hatcher, 98 of Windsor died Sept. 20, 2010.
Funeral service was held Sept. 23 at the First Baptist Church of Windsor with the Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hatcher was born in Windsor. She was the oldest child of the late Luther and Annie Redd Mundy. She was a homemaker, was married
to the late John Bunyan (JB) Hatcher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Windsor, the Women's Missionary Union and was honored as being the oldest member of the church and for having served the church for 75 years. She also served as the first Grand Marshall of the Windsor Christmas Parade. She was predeceased by a son, Ted Aaron Hatcher; a grandson, Trent Hatcher and a sister, Irene Pace.
Survivors include children, Gerald Tate (Martha Jean) Hatcher of Montmorenci, Mary Kaye (Wallace) Dunbar of Kitchings Mill; two sisters, Claudia (James Dennis) Ryan, Lillian (Sidney) Rhoney; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
