Funeral services for George Quinton Sessions, 88, of Williston, will be held two p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with burial at the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. The Reverends Stanley Adams and Toby Rowell will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday and other times at the home in Williston. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, 857 Mt. Beulah Road, Windsor, SC 29856. George passed away Monday, February 14, 2011.
born in Marion, SC, he was a son of the late George Robert Sessions and Rhoda Connor Sessions and was first married
to the late Catherine Young Sessions. George graduated from Florence High School and attended Colorado State University; he was a WW II Army Veteran of the European Theatre having served under General George Patton, was an amateur HAM radio operator and retired from E. I. DuPont as a technician. A great Christian man, he was a former member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church, Williston and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Windsor. He wrote several novels and had his war stories published in The People Sentinel. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and enjoyed having visitors at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Frances D. Kitchings Sessions of the home; daughters, Catherine S. (Harry) Baird of Graniteville, Linda K. (Bill) Johnson of Williston; sons, George M. (Denna) Sessions of St. Helena Island, Paul S. (Peggy) Sessions of Columbia, Wallace (Sheryl) Kitchings of Elko, Gene Kitchings of Aiken; grandchildren Melody Baird, Chris (Nicole) Sessions; a great grandson, Coen Sessions and a number of other grandchildren and great grandchildren; a special friend, Judy Sowell. He was predeceased by an infant brother; daughter, Miriam K. Cooley; sisters, Gwendolyn S. Williams, Modena S. Baucom.
Larry James Still
Larry James Still, 65, of Barnwell, died Feb. 10, 2011.
Funeral service was held Feb. 13 at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, Barnwell, with burial in the church cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Still was born in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Thomas Lide Still and Mada Hutto Still. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of the National Guard, Barnwell unit. He retired from Edisto Research and Education Center in Blackville having worked as an Ag-scientist assistant doing sweet potato research for nearly 30 years. He was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church and a member of the men’s adult Sunday school class and he cooked for the children’s ministry. He was a member of the Salkehatchie Coon Hunters’ Association.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Etheredge Still; two sons, James Kevin (Leigh Ann) Still and Gregory Alan Still; two sisters, Shirley (Burnette) Black and Gloria (Coy) Sanders; one brother, Jack O. (Betty) Still; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award me on that day.

Donald Lemuel Kirkland
Donald Lemuel Kirkland, 61, of Batesburg, died Feb. 11, 2011.
Funeral service was held Feb. 14 at Dean Swamp Baptist Church, Springfield. Burial was in the Halltown cemetery, Batesburg. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Kirkland was born in Lexington County. He was the son of the late Boliver Kirkland and Mary Magarene Mitchell Kirkland. He was a self-employed engineer, a member of Dean Swamp Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Panama. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Kirkland Ruple.
Survivors include his wife, Lana Marie Cooper Kirkland; one son, Benjamin “Ben” Patrick Cooper Kirkland; one sister, Carole Ann (Richard) Buzhardt; one brother, Dr. Stephen Mitchell (Dr. Lea Harrell) Kirkland; his mother and father-in-law, Phil and Ruby Cooper and nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral service for Clarence Eugene Heath, 79, of Williston, SC will be held eleven am Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Williston cemetery with the Rev. Don Bates officiating. Mr. Heath passed away February 13th at his home.
born in Barnwell County he was a son of the late Clarence Eugene Heath, Sr. and Mattie Porter Heath. He was married
to the late Ruth Burkett Heath, was a self-employed painter, a member of Seven Pines Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

(Bryan) McConnell all of Charleston; sisters, Margie Bates of Aiken, Alice Patricia Willford of Lawrenceville, Ga.; brothers, Edward L. Heath of Greenville, Clifton Heath of Charleston; grandchildren, Frederick Heath Terry, Barbara Leigh Terry and Shelby Brooke McConnell. He was preceded in death by sons, Quince Edward Heath, Clifton Eugene Heath and sister, Ethel Clifton.

Survivors include her son, Otis Jarield “O.J.” Greene, Jr. and his wife, Gina; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

born in Denmark, SC he was a son of the late Wilbur M. Jowers and Marion Porter Jowers. He was a US Navy veteran, retired from Kennedy Space Center after 34 years, was an IATSE Union member and was a member of Clear Lake Baptist Church in Cocoa, FL.

born in Blackville, SC she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Maybel Chavis Williams. Mrs. Gleaton was a Christian and affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness Church, was a homemaker and worked at the Blossom Shop for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her husband J. L. born in Barnwell County he was a son of the late Goldie Leroy Simmons and Idommie Bell Simmons. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, retired heavy equipment operator at the Savannah River Plant, a member of the Woodmen of the World, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and had a deep love for the nursing home ministry. “L.M.” always said, “I have the love of God in my heart.” The family would like to express a special thank you to the Care Givers Unlimited.

born in Naples, Italy she was a daughter of the late Aniello Brancaccio and Emilia Capratico Brancaccio. She went from Italy to N.Y. in 1920 and lived in Staten Island for 30 years and Port Charlotte, FL for 12 years. She was a seamstress and a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church of Barnwell.
