Harold Leon Riddle
Harold Leon Riddle, 68, of Barnwell died March 4, 2011 at the Barnwell County Hospital.
Funeral service was held March 7 at the Memorial Baptist Church, Olar, with the Revs. Dan Boineau and Charles Mosier officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memorial cemetery at the airport. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Riddle was born on June 18, 1942 in Greenville. He was the son of the late Horace Lonzo and Georgia Eloise Black Riddle. He retired from Shuron Inc. with more than 25 years service. In his earlier years, Leon enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. Later, he enjoyed building computers and meeting people as he prepared their taxes. He had many friends, but his greatest love was his wife and four daughters. They were his life and he dearly loved them. His grandchildren always had a special place in his heart and his sons-in-law were always available when called upon.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Collins Riddle; daughters, Phyllis Lynette Riddle (Johnny) Fulmer, Becky Ninette Riddle (Olin) Sanders Jr., Tracey Raenette Riddle (Timmy) Creech and Catherine Jeannette Riddle (Jody) Roberts; three brothers, Kenneth Avery “Roddy” (Corrie) Riddle of Leesville, Alan Randy (Linda) Riddle of Aiken, and Tommy Dale (Joye) Riddle of Clarksville Va.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bryndin Parker Elledge
Infant Bryndin Parker Elledge, age two months, died March 2, 2011.
Funeral service was held March 5 at Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church near Neeses with Pastor Charles Morris officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home of North was in charge of the arrangements.
Bryndin was born in Columbia. He was the son of Clarence Curtis and Ashlee Kelly Elledge.
Survivors include two brothers, Landon and Christian Elledge; maternal grandmother, Michelle Garrett of Gaston; maternal grandfather, Gary Kelly of Gaston; paternal grandmother, Melody Elledge of Orangeburg; paternal grandfather, Clarence Elledge of Williston; maternal great-grandmother, JoAnne Gray of Cope; maternal great-grandfather, Jimmy Garrick of Orangeburg; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Zimmerman of Neeses and a number of aunt, Harley Elledge; uncles, James Elledge, Christopher Kelly, Nick Kelly, Kyle Garrett, Russell Kelly and Austin Kelly and cousins.
Tabitha Shlette Stevenson-Brown
Tabitha Shlette Stevenson-Brown, 43, of Blackville, died Feb. 26, 2011 as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Funeral service was held March 5 at Blackville-Hilda High School auditorium, Blackville with the Revs. Inez Raysor, Johnnie B. Goodwin, Richie Williams and Douglas Hudson, Pastor Alfred Alexander Jr. and Elder Ida S. Brown officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park cemetery, Barnwell. Dash’s Funeral Home of Blackville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Stevenson-Brown was born Dec. 28, 1967 in Barnwell County. She was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Garden of Prayer Outreach Ministry. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jasmine Brown and her grandmother, Mary Sanders.
Survivors include one son, Gregory K. Brown of Blackville; one daughter, Chawndalyn Williams of Allenhurst, Ga.; her parents, Wendell and Sarah Stevenson of Allenhurst, Ga. and Raymond and Madlene Stevenson of North; sisters, Sharon Worley of Neeses, LaKeshia (Lamont) Thompson of Columbia; a sister, Erica Wilson (who was like a daughter) of Blackville; brothers, Anthony (Fran) Brailey of Neeses, Rico (Brenda) Brailey and Granville Brailey of Orangeburg; aunts; uncles; her mother-in-law, Elder Ida Brown of Vance; grandparents, Elder Odell and Caroline Fickling of Denmark; special uncles, the Rev. Ernest Sanders of Blackville and Roosevelt Harley of Cambridge, Mass.; special friends, Pam, Bridget, Rozenia and Sandy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
John Stanley Boozer
John Stanley Boozer, 61, of West Columbia, died Feb. 26, 2011.
Memorial service was held March 1 at Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church, Prosperity and will be held on March 3 at Mt. Horeb UMC, Lexington.
Mr. Boozer was born Sept. 2, 1949 in Newberry. He was the son of Doris C. Boozer and the late E. LeRoy Boozer. He retired from Aiken County department of Social Services in 2003. He was a member of Prosperity Masonic Lodge No. 115. He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria B. and Tommy Bennett; mother-in-law, Johnnie H. Sanders; brother-in-law, Phillip D. Sanders and nephew, J. Darren Boozer, formerly of Barnwell.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cheryl Sanders Boozer, formerly of Blackville and Williston; two daughters, Cherl B. Jackson and Allison N. Boozer; one brother, James “Jimmy” (Margaret) Boozer; one sister, Debra B. (Wayne) Morris; one brother-in-law, John F. (Ginger) Sanders; one sister-in-law, Rosemary S. (Bill) Vriesema; his father-in-law, Clarence F. Sanders, formerly of Barnwell and three grandchildren.

Blanche Louie Jones Sizemore
Blanche Louise Jones Sizemore, 76, of Windsor, died Feb. 24, 2011.
Funeral service was held Feb. 27 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial in the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Blanche was born in Aiken County. She was the daughter of the late Ollie L. and Nellie Myrtis Brown Jones. She was a homemaker, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she was a Bible school and church worker. She was predeceased by sisters, Ollie Mae Rickenbaker, Mary Frances Jones Ford and a brother, Gerald Jones.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Wilbur Herbert Sizemore; five daughters, Elaine (Gerald) Freeman, Rhonda Sizemore, Angela Palmer, Sharon (Dean) Birt and Amanda (Mark) Barefoot; one sister, Cornelia J. Hammond; one brother, Dick (Jean) Jones six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Melinda Kay Rexrode
Melinda Kay Rexrode, 40, of West Columbia died Feb. 16, 2011, at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia.
Memorial service was held Feb. 26 at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Lexington. Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory in Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rexrode was born June 14, 1970 in Thomasville, Ga. She was the daughter of Carolyn Fuller and the late William Fuller. She worked for Lexington Urological Associates for 11 years. As one of Jehovah’s witnesses, she attended the Broad River Congregation. She made her dedication to Jehovah and was baptized on Feb. 22, 1986 in Greenwood. She was predeceased by her father, W.D. Fuller, a brother, Glenn Steve Fuller, maternal grandparents, Alton and Hattie Newberry, and paternal grandparents, Everette and Gladys Fuller.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Scott Rexrode; one daughter, Tabitha Rhea Rexrode; one step-daughter, Victoria BreAnn Rexrode; one step-granddaughter, Pearl; her mother, Carolyn Newberry of Cairo, Ga.; three sisters, Kimberly Fuller (Kevin) Bloodsworth of Augusta, Ga., Brenda Fuller of Augusta, Ga., and Sherri Lockhart of Thomasville, Ga.; three brothers Billy Fuller, McBean, Ga., Alton “Ricky” (Rose) Burns of Coolidge, Ga., and James Gerald Burns of Thomasville, Ga.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lizzie Ann ‘Fox’ Sanders
Lizzie Ann “Fox” Sanders, 61, of Martin, died Feb. 16, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Feb. 26 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Martin with the Rev. Wendell Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Furse Mill cemetery, Martin. Allendale Community Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Sanders was born May 29, 1949 in Martin. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Simpkins and Annie Bell Daniels Simpkins.
Survivors include her husband, Nash Sanders of the home; one son, David Simpkins of Savannah, Ga.; two sisters, Jeanette (Etheridge) Brodus of Martin and Christine Simpkins of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Paul Simpkins of Jacksonville, Fla. and Silas Simpkins; three sisters-in-law, Willie Mae (James) Glaze of Beaufort, Audrey Skeens of Sumter and Lottie Williams of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother-in-law, Ezekiel Sanders of Beaufort; two special friends, David Frank and “Mena” Pinkney of Martin; one grandson, Jeffrey Ingram of Aiken and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ella H. Jackson
Ella H. Jackson, 75, of Blackville, died Feb. 21, 2011 at the Barnwell County Hospital.
Funeral service was held Feb. 27 at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Revs. Floyd Hughes Sr. and McKinley Neal officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park cemetery, Barnwell. Dash’s Funeral Home of Blackville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Jackson was born Dec. 22, 1935 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Norman Hunter and Rosa Daniels Hunter. She was employed with Blackville-Hilda Public Schools where she worked as a Para professional with the Chapter One program, served as an assistant with the guidance department of Blackville-Hilda High School and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sister, Annie (John) Howard of Springlake, N. C. and Annie Washington of Blackville; one sister-in-law, Linda Hunter; three godsons, Christopher Daniels, David Kennedy and Willie Felder III, all of Blackville; one goddaughter, Chiante Daniels of Blackville two special cousins, Eartha Daniels and Bernice Butler, both of Blackville; one granddaughter, Alyshia Y. Jackson of Virginia Beach, Va.; one special friend, Lizzie Wise, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
John Wright
John Wright, 59, of Barnwell, died in the Aiken Regional Hospital.
Funeral service was held Feb. 27 at Macedonia CME Church, Allendale with burial in the Mt. Hope cemetery, Martin. Heritage Funeral Home of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wright was the son of Arthur Youmans and Celia Mae Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Price Wright; three daughters, Tiffany (Reynold) Witherspoon of Fountain Inn, Nina Wright of Greenville and Vasha Wright of Barnwell; one son, Jonathan Wright of Barnwell; five brothers; nine sisters and nine grandchildren.
Louise Frederick Norris
Louise Frederick Norris, 81, of Williston died Feb. 22, 2011.
Funeral service was held Feb. 25 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with burial in the Williston cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Norris was born in Williston. She was the daughter of the late Otis and Addie Lee Mitchell Frederick. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Golden Age Club, and the Ivy Garden Club. She retired from the Williston Telephone Company, worked for H and R Block and owned Norris Nursery.
Survivors include her husband, Sylvester “Peanut” Norris; one son, Scotty (Sylvia) Norris, one granddaughter, Jessica Floyd; a special son, Perry “Walvin” (Diane) Lewis; a good friend, Charles Bodiford and special caregiver, Shirley Baughman.

Willie Dell Still Keele
Willie Dell Still Keele, 84, of Barnwell, died Feb. 21, 2011 in Aiken.
Funeral service was held Feb. 24 at the Barnwell United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Hood officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Keele was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Blackville. She was the daughter of the late Leroy C. and Ethel Mae Still. She was member of Barnwell United Methodist Church and the Jenny Bates Hagood Sunday school class. She was predeceased by an infant son and sisters Helen S. Black, Myrtis S. Jones, and Latrelle Toole.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Jake L. Keele of the home, one daughter, Judy (Billy) Westmoreland of Barnwell, one son, Lonnie (Sue) Keele of Chapin; one sister, Barbara S. Fakoury and five grandchildren.

Ethel McLemore Bell
Ethel McLemore Bell, 91, of Williston, died Feb. 22, 2011 in Canton, Georgia.
Funeral service was held Feb. 26 at the Williston cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bell was born in Williston. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Isadore and Emma Kennedy McLenore and was the widow of Francis “Frank” Bell. She was a homemaker, a member of Williston First Baptist Church and the WMU. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Taylor Daniel.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam (Randy) Collins and Ann (Barry) Orr; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Vorise Simms Myrick
Vorise Simms Myrick, 106, of Barnwell, died Feb. 14, 2011.
Funeral service was held Feb. 18 at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Snelling with the Revs. John W. Young and Freddie L. Bush officiating. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Myrick was born Nov. 4, 1904 of the Old Patterson Mill Community in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Louise Gadson Simms. She was married
to the late Corance Alfred Myrick Sr. She was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church where she served as usher for more than 50 years, secretary of the usher board, mother of the church, became a deaconess, Chaplain of the Missionary Society and Primary Sunday school teacher. She was predeceased by three grandchildren, Benjamin, Vonka and Conci.
Survivors include one son, Corance A. Myrick Jr.; one daughter, Vorise Deborah Myrick Peeples; one daughter-in-law, Dora C. Myrick; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and other relatives and care givers.
Beverly Sue Sanders Gauche’
Beverly Sue Sanders Gauche’, 59, of Chapin, died Feb. 19, 2011.
Funeral service was held Feb. 22 Chapin United Methodist Church, Chapin. Burial was in the Starr cemetery, Olar. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Paul J. Gauche’ Sr.; children, Paul J. Gauche’ Jr. and his special friend Melissa DePalma of Cayce and Allison Suzanne Gauche’ of Chapin; her parents, Martha Sue and Herman Sanders of Barnwell and Chapin and a brother, Kenneth (Geraldine) Sanders of Cayce; and several nieces and nephews.
