Penny Rivadeneira, 32, of Beaufort, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at her residence.

Ruth Garrett
HILTON HEAD ISLAND -- Ruth Garrett, 94, of Hilton Head Island, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in the LifeCare Center on Hilton Head.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bostick Funeral Home, Ridgeland.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Chapel on the Hill in Coosawhatchie, with burial at St. Paul Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Garrett was born July 30, 1908, in Coosawhatchie, a daughter of Larry Fields and Randy Fields.
She was a member of Chapel on the Hill in Coosawhatchie.
Survivors include two sons; Thomas Rhett of Ridgeland and Malichi Rhett of Petersburg, Va.; a sister, Beatrice Graham of Coosawhatchie; and a brother, Willie Fields of Jersey City, N.J.
Jesse Washington
Jesse Washington, 61, of the Fripp Point Community on St. Helena Island, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in the St. Helena area.
W. Leon Sherman Mortuary is in charge.
Elisa English
SAVANNAH - Elisa English, 31, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Memorial Medical University.
Services will be held at noon Thursday at Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church in Bluffton.
Ms. English attended Middle Township Schools. She attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md. and the University of Southern California.
Survivors include a son, Ondré English of Beaufort; a brother, Neil English of Woodbine, N.J.; an uncle, Leroy English of Beaufort, and an aunt, Alice English of Beaufort.

Norman L. Mull
Retired Marine 1st Sgt. Norman Leroy Mull, 75, of Beaufort, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Baptist Church of Beaufort. Burial will be in Beaufort National cemetery with full military honors.
Mull was born July 31, 1927, in Morgantown, N.C., a son of Epsie Miller Mull and Hiram D. Mull.
He joined the Marine Corps at 14 and was a member of the Young Marine Warriors. His military honors include: Infantry Unit Leader, Proof Technician of Small Firearms, Military Functions in Civil Disturbances and Disasters. His various awards and commendations included Asiatic-Pacific Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, American Campaign World War II Victory Medal, President Unit Citation, Navy Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal, and Korean PUC.
After his military service, he was the owner and operator of Mayflower Van Lines for nine years and worked for Purolator Courier Services for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma K. Mull of Lady's Island; two sons, Henry L. Mull of Beaufort and Randy L. Mull of Columbia and a granddaughter.

Beatrice F. Hamilton Rivers
YEMASSEE - Beatrice F. Hamilton Rivers, 76, of the Barkersville Community, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Young Funeral Home, Yemassee. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Point South. Burial will be in the Fennell cemetery in Barkersville.
Ms. Rivers was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Hackless Fennell and Retha Sanders Fennell. She was a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta where she received her bachelor's degree. She also attended New York University and South Carolina State University.
She was a retired teacher who taught in Beaufort and Varnville public schools.
Ms. Rivers was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was the widow of Freddie Hamilton, Sr., and Garfield Rivers and was preceded in death by a son, Freddie Hamilton Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Hamilton of Yemassee; a son, Floyd Hamilton of Charlotte; two stepdaughters, Viola Heyward of Pineland and Shirley Doctor of Southern Pines, N.C.; three sisters, Viola Rivers, Juanita Robinson and Hynthinia Hamilton of Yemassee; three brothers, Jacob Shaw and Issac Shaw of Bridgeport, Conn., and William Shaw of Yemassee; two stepbothers, Sam Bowers of White Plains, N.Y., and Roger Bowers of New Haven, Conn.; a stepsister, Galevester Baxter of Sacramento, Calif., and seven step-grandchildren.
Lottie Blair
LOBECO -- Lottie Blair, 91, of Lobeco, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Rheba Dean Enfinger Cannington
RIDGELAND -- Rheba Dean Enfinger Cannington, 69, of Ridgeland, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, in Hospice Savannah Inc.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Sauls Funeral Home, Ridgeland.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Great Swamp Baptist Church, Ridgeland, with burial in Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery, Early Branch.
Mrs. Cannington was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Eufaula, Ala., a daughter of Beulah Dean Roney Enfinger and Thomas E. Enfinger Sr. She was CNA for 10 years at Ridgeland hospital and was a member of Senior Singers.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E. Enfinger Jr. and a grandchild, Chasity Lynn Smith
Survivors include her husband, Ret. Army 1st Sgt. Joe Cannington, of Ridgeland; four daughters, Peggy Cooler and Regina Webster of Ridgeland and Martha McMillan and Kathy Lucas of Hilton Head Island; a sister, Grace Warren of D'Lo, Miss.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

John Oliver Ryan
RIDGELAND -- John Oliver Ryan, 91, of Ridgeland, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, in Savannah.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sauls Funeral Home, Ridgeland.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grahamville cemetery, Ridgeland.
Dr. Ryan was born Oct. 8, 1911, in Ridgeland, a son of Mamie Winkler Ryan and Dr. William Butler Ryan. He graduated from the Medical College of Charleston in 1937. He served in the Navy for four years as a physician and then joined his brother, Dr. C. Pinckney Ryan's medical practice in Ridgeland. He practiced medicine in Ridgeland until 1992.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Louise White of Savannah and Annie Mock Graham.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Louise Graham Boyles of Tillman; and two sons, John O. Ryan Jr. of Tillman and J. Aiken Ryan of Okatie.

Karen A. DuBois
CLAYTON, Ga. -- Karen Anita York DuBois, 55, of Clayton died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at her residence.
Services were held Friday at First United Methodist Church of Clayton.
Ms. Dubois was born Aug. 30, 1947, in Rabun County, Ga., a daughter of Mary Jo May York and James Carlton York .
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clayton. She attended Weber College in Florida and received her Associates Degree in Business Education from Brenau College, received her bachelor's degree from North Georgia College and received her 6-year specialty degree in Administration Leadership. Mrs. Dubois was a teacher at Rabun County High School, where she was instrumental in the starting of the DECA Club and revived the Community Based Education Program.
Survivors in addition to her parents include a son, James DuBois of Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Gail York of Atlanta and Janice York of Beaufort; and three grandchildren.

Beryl C. Lepley
MOUNT SAVAGE, Md. -- Beryl Cleo Lepley, 85, of Mount Savage, mother of Linda Bridges of Beaufort, died on Saturday, April 5, 2003, at WMHS Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, Md.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home in Maryland.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lepley was born on Jan. 2, 1918, in Six Mile Run, Pa., daughter of Elizabeth O'Neal Skipper and John Skipper.
She was a member of the Zion Reformed Church, Wellersburg, Pa., where she was active in the Ladies' Guild. She was also a member of the Friday Morning Bible Study Class in Mount Savage.
Survivors include a son, Richard Lepley of Cumberland; three daughters, Linda Bridges of Beaufort, Patricia Ann Fleegle of Corriganville, Md., and Donna Carpenter of Cumberland; two brothers, John Skipper of Mount Savage and William Skipper of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Zion Reformed Church, Wellersburg, Md.
Marion C. Altman
OKATIE -- Marion Clinton Altman, 61, of Okatie, husband of Judy Pinckney Altman, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at his home.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Services will be from 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Okatie Baptist Church. Burial will be in Great Swamp Baptist Church in Ridgeland.
Mr. Altman was born Nov. 29, 1941, in Ridgeland, the son of Delores Nettles Altman and Lewis A. Altman.
He had been a resident of Hilton Head from 1966 to 1986. He owned Altman's Carpet Service from 1968 to 1994.
Mr. Altman was a charter member of the Hilton Head Jaycees and volunteered in the first Hilton Head Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He also worked as one of the first paid paramedics on Hilton Head.
Most recently, he worked at Belfair Property Owners' Association in Bluffton.
Mr. Altman also served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Bluffton. He also served with the Baptist Disaster Relief Organization.
He was instrumental in beginning the Okatie Baptist Church. He made several missionary trips to Puerto Rico and Haiti.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Margaret Altman Britt of Okatie and Terri Altman Mahaffey of Atlanta; a sister, Ann Altman McCaskill of Burton; a brother, Franklin Altman of Long Beach, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Okatie Baptist Church Building Fund, 991 Okatie Highway, Okatie 29909.
