COLUMBIA- Service for Larry S. Hartley, 57, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Mr. Hartley died Friday, December 7, 2007. born in Guam, he was a son of Lillian Taylor Hartley and the late Mahlon Hartley, Sr. He was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School and the University of South Carolina. Formerly employed with Bank of America, he retired from National Auto Finance Company.
Mr. Hartley was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Katharine “Kathy” Winn Hartley; his mother; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay Hartley McCutcheon and Joseph McCutcheon; brother, Mahlon Hartley, Jr.; sister-in-law, Peg Blanton; mother-in-law, Margaret Winn; brothers-in-law, Bill Winn and Paul J. Britt; and nephew, Stephen Britt, all of Columbia. He was predeceased by sister, Cheryle Hartley Britt.

Victoria Ferguson, 97, of Charleston, died Saturday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Wm. Smith Funeral Home, will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ferguson was born in Sheldon, a daughter of Ceasar Evans and Annie Evans. She attended Beaufort County schools. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was the widow of Joseph Ferguson.
Surviving are a daughter, Geneva Freeman of Charleston; a son, Joseph Ferguson Jr. of Charleston; a sister, Alice Penceal of New York City; 14 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

ALBERT E. DILLON
Retired Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Albert Eugene Dillon, 66, of Charleston, a retired employee with the Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Tuesday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Live Oak Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Mr. Dillon was born in Muncie, Ind., a son of Herbert Dillon and Dorothy Lowe Dillon O'Neil. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a Mason and a member of the Fleet Reserve, the American Legion and James Island Baptist Church. He was the widower of Johnnie P. Dillon.
Surviving are his stepmother, Guelda Dillon of Indiana; three daughters, Darvina Cook and Debra Poor, both of Indiana, and Diane J. Dillon of New York; a son, Larry Dillon of Indiana; two sisters, Nola Pippin and Violet F. Barrows, both of Indiana; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

HANAHAN - Ralph Waldo Lucas Jr., 73, a retired fire control mechanic with the Charleston Naval Shipyard and former owner of Lucas Alarms, died Tuesday at his residence. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Friendship Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lucas was born in Berwick, La., a son of Ralph W. Lucas and Mayme Ruth Nettles Lucas. He was a former coach with the Hanahan Parks and Playgrounds. He was a member of the Naval Armed Guard and Friendship Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Ivey Lucas; a daughter, Cynthia Cannaday of Middleburg, Fla.; two sons, Michael Lucas of Moncks Corner and Jeff Lucas of Goose Creek; a brother, Joseph E. Lucas of Ridgeland; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Collier was born in Naugatuck, W.Va., a daughter of Wallace L. Lawson and Sarah Davis Lawson. She was a member of Isle of Palms Baptist Church and was the widow of Dr. Miller Collier.

FOLLY BEACH - Dr. Margaret Archer Braden, 73, a retired professor with Youngstown State University of Youngstown, Ohio, died Tuesday in a Charleston hospital. Mrs. Braden was born in Greensboro, Ga., a daughter of Marshall Archer and Burnis Smith Archer. She was a graduate of Youngstown State and received a master's from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. She was a member of James Island Baptist Church and was the widow of Frank M. Braden.
Surviving are two sons, Frank M. Braden Jr. of El Paso, Texas, and Mark E. Braden of Washington, D.C.; and three grandchildren.

CHRIS G. HITOPOULOS
COLUMBIA - Chris George Hitopoulos, 73, a retired South Carolina chief athletic commissioner and a former owner of Gregg's Pharmacy, died Tuesday at his residence. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Burial, directed by Dunbar's Gervais Street Chapel, will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Live Oak cemetery of Charleston.
Mr. Hitopoulos was born in Charleston, a son of George C. Hitopoulos and Helen Nitsos Hitopoulos. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a former chairman of the S.C. Amateur Boxing Association and was chairman of the S.C. Golden Gloves. He was boxing coach with the USA Boxing Team in 1980 and 1990, the USA Amateur Boxing Federation, regional Olympic trials and the USA Olympic trials. He was appointed chief athletic commissioner emeritus for South Carolina. He was a member of the American Legion and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Surviving are three sisters, Anna H. Waye of Columbia and Eftyhia G. Hitopoulos and Frances H. Carroll, both of Charleston; and two brothers, Harry G. Hitopoulos and Greg G. Hitopoulos, both of Mount Pleasant.

GALVESTON, Texas - Retired Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Ernest Poe Tyler, 61, a systems analyst, died Saturday at his residence. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris, S.C. Burial, with military honors, will be in Cane Branch cemetery in Loris.
Mr. Tyler was born in Loris, a son of Jasper Z. Tyler and Mary L. Prince Tyler. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association and the American Legion.
