EUGENE DEAUSSAURE
YEMASSEE - The funeral for Eugene Deaussaure will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Family Worship Center. Burial, directed by Young Funeral Home, will be in Jackson Family cemetery.
Mr. Deaussaure, 64, a retired employee with the New York City Transit Authority, died Friday in a Varnville hospital. He was born in Charleston, a son of John Deaussaure and Eva Limehouse Deaussaure. He attended Charleston and Yemassee schools. He was a member and deacon of Family Worship Center.
Surviving are his wife, the Rev. Genardry Deaussaure; a son, Eugene Deaussaure Jr. of Maryland; a stepson, Alfred Barnes of New York; three stepdaughters, Vivian Cash of Yemassee and Letitia Thompson and Diedre Starks, both of Cambria Heights, N.Y.; four brothers, Nathaniel Deaussaure, James Deaussaure, Charles Deaussaure and Alondzo Deaussaure, all of Charleston; five sisters, Mary Thompson of New York and Rebecca Loving, Charlene King, Naomi Nesbitt and Eva Deaussaure, all of Charleston; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams was born in Orange Park, Fla., a daughter of John Dunson. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Philadelphia. She was the widow of Samuel Williams.

HERBERT G. GRANTHAM
PORT ROYAL - Retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. Herbert George Grantham, 85, a retired employee with the S.C. Highway Department and a former North Charleston resident, died Monday in a Beaufort hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Carteret Street United Methodist Church in Beaufort. Burial, directed by Copeland Funeral Home of Beaufort, will be in the National cemetery at Beaufort with military honors.
Mr. Grantham was born in Lamar, a son of Rochele H. Grantham and Minnie S. Joye Grantham. He was a graduate of Darlington County schools. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Carteret Street United Methodist Church and was the widower of Marie Knouff Grantham.
Surviving are two sons, Wiley G. Grantham of Ventura, Calif., and Herbert G. Grantham of Fort Scott, Kan.; a daughter, Mary G. Thompson of Columbia; a sister, Anna G. Odom of Florence; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
