MARION - Gertrude S. Gasque, 91, a retired beautician, died Monday in a local nursing home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in Richardson-Miles Funeral Home. Burial will be in Devotion Gardens.
Mrs. Gasque was born in Germany, a daughter of Ernest Pyoch and Anna Waschelewski Pyoch.
Surviving are her husband, former state Sen. J. Ralph Gasque; a son, Bill Gasque of Charleston; a brother, John Thiel of Camp Springs, Md.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

MARTHA A. HACKNEY
EHRHARDT - Martha Ann Hackney, 61, an X-ray technician with Dr. F.M. Dwight and a retired chief X-ray technician with Bamberg County Hospital, died Tuesday in a Columbia hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. James United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Cooner Funeral Home of Bamberg, will be in Ehrhardt cemetery.
Mrs. Hackney was a daughter of Jess L. Dannelly and Burnie M. Smith Dannelly. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Russell A. Hackney; her father of Ehrhardt; two sons, Russell D. Hackney and John A. Hackney, both of Ehrhardt; and a brother, Jess B. Dannelly of Conway.

Mr. Sanders was born in Conway, a son of Elric A. Sanders and Florrie Belle Ray Sanders. He was a Mason.

KINGSTREE - Pearl Stokes Brown, 90, a former teacher in Darlington and Williamsburg county schools, died Tuesday in a Charleston hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Williamsburg Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Swamp Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Darlington County, a daughter of Cecil Humphrey Stokes and Junious Stokes. She was a graduate of Darlington High School and Columbia College. She was an active member of Cedar Swamp Methodist Church. She was the widow of Laddie Brown.
Surviving are a son, J. Connor Brown of Kingstree; and three grandchildren.

VINCENT C. TRUSCELLO
CONWAY - Vincent Carl Truscello, 61, a former employee with the Department of Defense, NASA and the Department of Energy, died Tuesday at his residence. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today in St. James Catholic Church, according to Goldfinch Funeral Home.
Mr. Truscello was born in Philadelphia, a son of Charles Truscello and Frances Furi Truscello. He was a graduate of Drexel Institute of Technology. He received a master's degree in mechanical engineering and a doctorate in nuclear engineering from the University of Maryland. He served in the Army.
He was a former employee with Martin Marietta Corp. and developed nuclear power space systems for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was a member of a Power Systems Group, which evaluated power for nuclear spacecraft. He was a former manager with the Thermal Power Systems Project. He was a member of the American Nuclear Society, the Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the International Solar Energy Society. He received the Aerospace Power Systems Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, Pi Tau Sigma and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Truscello; two daughters, Ann Marie Purl of Durham, N.C., and Mary Schenone of Lodi, Calif.; a brother, Peter Truscello of Medford, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Hudson, 82, a retired route salesman with Prentiss Wholesale Co., died May 5 in a local hospital. He was born in Colleton County, a son of Martin V. Hiott and Maggie Hudson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Sandy Dam United Methodist Church.
