WALTERBORO - Alma Irene Smoak Nuce, 70, died Sunday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gillisonville Baptist Church cemetery in Jasper County.
Mrs. Nuce was born in Jasper County, a daughter of Charles W. Smoak and Ada Lee Williams Smoak. She was a member of Gillisonville Baptist Church. She was the widow of Elmer Lee Nuce.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis N. Benton of Walterboro; a sister, Lila Barnes of Walterboro; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Fulmore was born in Olanta, a daughter of Adolphus McElveen and Rosa Welch McElveen. She was married
to the late Alexander Vause and was the widow of Marion Fulmore.
Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne V. Cooke of Hartsville; two brothers, Roy W. McElveen of Charleston and Ray McElveen of Conway; a sister, Martha M. Chaney of Ligonier, Ind.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
