HARLEYVILLE - Mrs. Johnnie Lee Hart Knight, 71, of 142 E. Main St., Harleyville, died Monday at her residence.

Mrs. Knight was born in Holly Hill a daughter of the late John Pickney Hart and Opal Grooms Hart. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harleyville.

ROBINSON, Donald
Robinson Donald J., 72, a decorated Korean War veteran died Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at a local hospital. born May 3, 1929 in Front Royal, VA he was the son of Elbert M. and Ellen Odessa Robinson (nee Derflinger). Mr. Robinson served in the US Army, 1948-1952, and US Air Force, 1952-1953. During the Korean War he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service medal and the United Nations Medal. Following his military service he was a civil service employee. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Goose Creek. His wife Mary E. Robinson, son Donald E. Robinson and brother James Robinson preceded him in death. He is survived by his three daughters Barbara Sullivan, Goose Creek, Ellen Toepfer, Hope Mills, NC, and Debbie Robinson, Fredericksburg, VA; four brothers: Howard Robinson, Canada, William Robinson, Akron, OH, Charles Robinson and Leroy Robinson, both of Collinsville, IL; four sisters: Gay Horvati, Akron, OH, Betty Morris and Helen Knave, both of Front Royal, VA and Mary Bussey, Blanchard, OK; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and companion Melissa Bunch, Goose Creek. She is survived by one son: John M. Hastings of Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Linda Singleton Kolmar of Aiken, S.C. and two grandchildren.

HARTMAN, Katherine
Katherine M. Hartman (nee Brodnax) born May 24, 1922 in Dallas, Tex. and died December 10, 2001. Mrs. Hartman graduated Forest Avenue High School of Dallas in 1939. In the late 30's and early 40's, she was a professional musician and performed with the E.T. Ranch Girls throughout Texas and on live radio. On November 8, 1942, she married
William L. Hartman, Jr., in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew George Brodnax and Winnie Lee Flanagan and her brother, George Brodnax. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, one brother, Harry Brodnax, 8 children, Lois Ruggiero, Juanita Mitchell, David Hartman, Rita Yeakley, Molly Oxford, Donna Herrington, Sally Guzman and Joseph Hartman, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 12, 2001 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Hughes Jefferson Chapel, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2001 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 4015 S. JONES, Dorothy
GEORGETOWN - Dorothy Carpenter Pate Jones, 90, died Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at Prince George Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Jones was born in Pageland on April 21, 1911, a daughter of the late Robert Allen Carpenter and Willie Mae Blakeney Carpenter. She grew up in Pageland and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing. Mrs. Jones worked as a private duty nurse for a number of years and was also a bookkeeper at the A. & P. Store on Front St. in Georgetown for a time. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Jones was the widow of John Anderson Jones and Lewis Calvin Pate.
Surviving are: four sons, Lewis Calvin Pate of Conway, Allen C. Pate and David B. Pate, both of Florence, and Robert J. Pate of Georgetown; a sister, Johnsie Martinov of Conway; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning, December 13, 2001, at 11 o'clock at the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill and the Rev. Hiram L. McElrath. Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery.

Dustin L. Roberts, 28, of Goose Creek, died Saturday, December 8, 2001. born July 19, 1973 in Aurora, CO. he was the son of Lawrence E. "Larry" and Pamela S. Roberts (nee Morin). Dustin was a 1991 graduate of Chatfield High School, Littleton, Colo. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Western State College, Gunnison, CO, and was a member of Delta Zeta Pi business fraternity and Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. After graduation he began his career with Mellon Mortgage and later was employed by Chase Manhattan Bank as a loan finance officer. He is survived by his parents, two sisters: Francyne and her husband Joel A. Altman, and Amanda Roberts all of Goose Creek; maternal grandmother Irene Morin and paternal grandparents: Edmond and Rita Roberts, all of Damar, KS; uncles, aunts and numerous cousins.
