ANDERSON, JR., James
James Lee "Bubba" Anderson, Jr., 61, of Columbia, SC, formerly of Cordesville, SC, a former production worker for Gates Rubber Co, died Sunday in a Columbia hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the graveside in the Cordesville Baptist Church cemetery. Interment will follow. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. this Tuesday evening.
Mr. Anderson was born Dec. 31, 1939, in Cordesville, SC, a son of James Lee Anderson, Sr. and Isabell Bunch Anderson. He was a member of the Cordesville First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School.
Surviving are two sons, James Lee "Jim" Anderson, III of West Columbia, and Fred G. Anderson of Gaston, SC; two sisters, Barbara Ann Williams of Dublin, Ga. and Frances A. Wright of Columbia; one brother, Charles Anderson of Summerville; a granddaughter, Whitney Allyn Anderson of Irmo; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
FLOYD, Roland
Roland L. Floyd, 78, of St. Stephen, SC, a former kennel manager at the Oakland Club, died Sunday at his residence.
The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the ST. STEPHEN CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME. Interment will be in Belle Isle Presbyterian Church cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. this Tuesday evening.
Mr. Floyd was born Feb. 7, 1923, in St. Stephen, SC, a son of Douglas Floyd and Kizzie Matthews Floyd. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Young of Asheville, NC and Pauline Slagle of St. Stephen; two sisters, Mae Keller of Greenville and Nell Wadford of St. Stephen; one brother, Neal Floyd of Rose Hill, NC; and five grandchildren.
JONES, SR., Vernon
ROUND O - Mr. Vernon Virgil Jones, Sr., 73, of 65 Deep Water Trail died Sunday at Colleton Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Craig officiating. Interment will follow Friday in Good Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Eclectic, Alabama.
Mr. Jones was born in Colleton County, a son of the late James Madison Jones and Kelsey Hudson Jones. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, having served twice in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Eclectic, Alabama.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Ann Jennings Jones; five sons, Vernon Virgil Jones, Jr. of Jemison, Alabama, Ronald Terry Jones of Humble, Texas, Donald Michael Jones of Tallassee, Alabama, Randy Maddy Jones, Sr. of Mount Airy, NC and Marion Ricky Jones of Wetumpka, Alabama; two sisters, Vergie J. Smoak and Miriam J. Craven, both of Walterboro; a brother, Clements Jones of Charleston and thirteen grandchildren. He was predeceased by an infant son, sisters, Nerma Smoak, Audrey Lee Jones and Uelia Jones and a brother, Carroll Jones.
The family will receive friends at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME following the funeral service until 8:00 p.m.

WALTERBORO - Gus Pinckney, Jr., 70, of Mt. Vernon, NY and formerly of Walterboro, died Wednesday, October 31, 2001, in New York.
The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2001, in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Walterboro. Burial will be in Ireland Creek cemetery.
Mr. Pinckney was born in Walterboro, and was a son of Edna Adams Pinckney and the late Gus Pinckney, Sr. He attended the public schools in Colleton County and retired from Westchester County Penitentiary in Valhalla, NY.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Pinckney, Mt. Vernon, NY; six daughters, Barbara Davis, Bamberg, SC, Theola Pinckney and Denise Davis of Brooklyn, NY, Glenda Pinckney, Moncia Pinckney and Alicia Pinckney all of Mt. Vernon, NY; two sons, Gus Eugene Pinckney, Brooklyn, NY and Ronnie Pinckney, Queens, NY; his mother, Edna Pinckney, Walterboro; two step-children, Helen McKineno and Kallip Wise, Jr., Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Roosevelt Pinckney, Daytona, Fla., Thomas Pinckney, Walterboro and Earnest T. Pinckney, Brooklyn, NY; five sisters, Mary Ann Washington, Walterboro, Margaret Pinckney, Brooklyn, NY, Carmel Ray Pinckney and Aeileen Pinckney, White Plains, NY and Henrietta Pinckney, Mt. Vernon, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

GEORGETOWN - Inez Lawrimore Jayroe, age 84, wife of the late James Cecil Jayroe, of Magnigault Court, died Sunday, November 4, 2001 at Heartland Nursing Center in Charleston. Mrs. Jayroe was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late John Russell Lawrimore, Sr. and Annie Jane Brown Lawrimore. She was a member of Grace Chapel Baptist Church in Bucksport and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Georgetown. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest E. Lawrimore and John Russell Lawrimore, Jr., and one sister, Maude Lawrimore Humphries.
Surviving are two sisters, Bertha Lawrimore Cole of Pawley's Island and Lena Lawrimore Moore of Conway; eleven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at GOLDFINCH FUNERAL HOME, CONWAY CHAPEL with the Rev. Robbin King officiating. Burial will follow at Waccamaw Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

born December 12, 1920 in Ehrhardt, SC, Mrs. DuBois was the daughter of the late Linnar George and Annie Laurie Clayton Yarley. She was a graduate of Ehrhardt High School and attended night classes at The Citadel in Charleston. She was retired from the Charleston Naval Hospital where she was Director of Finance. Mrs. DuBois was a member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Boone Bowen Bible Sunday School Class. She was a charter member of Marshlands Chapter of the American Business Women's Association and was named their 1974 Woman of the Year. She was also a member of the Charleston Rod and Reel Club, the Sandhurst Garden Club and Woodman of the World, Fort Sumter Lodge No.1.
Surviving Mrs. DuBois are two sons, James Ivy DuBois and Gregory Marion DuBois, both of Charleston; four grandchildren, J. Dru DuBois, Clay H. DuBois, Cherrie Lynn Kopacz and Victoria A. DuBois; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Bryan Kopacz.

MUZENMAIER, Gertrude
Gertrude Taylor Munzenmaier, 90, of Charleston, died Sunday, November 4, at a local hospital. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Munzenmaier, widow of Thad A. Munzenmaier, will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Grace Episcopal Church, 98, Wentworth St., Charleston. She was the daughter of Wilson and Lillian Pittman Taylor; she was a graduate of North Charleston High School and attended the College of Charleston. Mrs. Munzenmaier was a resident at the Canterbury House Retirement Home. She was an active member of the Poetry Society of South Carolina, and served as editor of the Society's Yearbook for eight years. She was the author of many published poems. Mrs. Munzenmaier was a past president of the Garden Clubs of Charleston, and a past president of the Council of Garden Clubs of Charleston. She also served as Director of the East Lowcountry District of the Garden Club of South Carolina. In 1997 she received the Special Tribute Award of the South Atlantic Region of the National Council of State Garden Clubs for her work with Camp Wildwood, a natural resource leadership training program for high school students, sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources; the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, and the Garden Club of South Carolina.
She is survived by her niece, Mrs. Shirley M. Chaplin, her nephew, John L. Munzenmaier, Jr., and several grandnieces and nephews.
