MCDOWELL, SR., Elwood
LORIS - Elwood Raymond McDowell, Sr., age 59, of Red Bluff Road, died Monday, November 5, 2001 at Roper Hospital in Charleston following an illness.
Mr. McDowell was born in Horry County, a son of the late Oscar and Reba Todd McDowell. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and retired from Pepsi-Cola in Conway after 35 years of service. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandy Gale McDowell and a brother, Leland McDowell.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Stalvey McDowell of Loris; one son, Elwood R. "Woody" McDowell, Jr. and his wife Tammie of Loris; two daughters, Angie McDowell and Nichole McDowell, both of Loris; two brothers, Johnny McDowell of Alabama and Phillip McDowell of Laurens; two sisters, Elnita Parrott of Ga., Vivian Grooms of Mt. Pleasant; one granddaughter, Gabriel McDowell of Loris; three grandsons, Nicholas McDowell, Mason McDowell and Dylan McDowell all of Loris. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. Burial will follow in Grainger cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

GILREATH, Jack
Entered into eternal rest on November 5, 2001, Lt. Col. John (Jack) Mercer Gilreath, USAF (Ret.), husband of Carrie Robertson Gilreath. Residence, Lakewood Washington, formerly of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Lt. Col. and Mrs. John Mercer Gilreath are invited to attend the memorial services of the former Friday, November 9, 2001 in Mt. View Memorial Park in Washington. There will be a private service in Charleston at a later date.
Mr. Gilreath was born June 2, 1934 in Charleston, SC, the son of John Kennedy Gilreath and Maybelle Hethington Agee. He was a member of Old St. Andrews Episcopal Church, the Sons of the Confederacy, the Carolina Yacht Club and a life member of the Huguenot Society of South Carolina. He was a graduate of Porter Military Academy and the University of South Carolina. He served with the US Air Force during Viet Nam.
He is survived by his wife of Washington; two daughters: Denise Groves Gilreath of Summerville, SC and Yvonne (Vonie) Allston Gilreath of Charleston, SC; two stepchildren; six grandsons; one granddaughter.

ARDIS, John
John Patrick Ardis, 44, of Augusta, Ga., died Monday, November 5, 2001, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Charleston, S.C., a son of Joseph Marian and Idella Luce Ardis. He was a Francis Marion University graduate and a computer programmer with Club Car in Augusta, Ga.
He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Survivors, in addition to his parents of Florence, include three sisters, Nancy Greene of Atlanta, Ga., Carol Davis of Columbus, Ind., and Judy Lynn Turner of Florence; three brothers, Joseph M. Ardis, Jr., David Andrew Ardis, and Ronald Eugene Ardis, all of Florence; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2001, in WATERS-POWELL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL.

MUZENMAIER, Gertrude
Gertrude Taylor Munzenmaier, 90, of Charleston, died Sunday, November 4, at a local hospital. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Munzenmaier, widow of Thad A. Munzenmaier, will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Grace Episcopal Church, 98 Wentworth St., Charleston. She was the daughter of Wilson and Lillian Pittman Taylor; she was a graduate of North Charleston High School and attended the College of Charleston. Mrs. Munzenmaier was a resident at the Canterbury House Retirement Home. She was an active member of the Poetry Society of South Carolina, and served as editor of the Society's Yearbook for eight years. She was the author of many published poems. Mrs. Munzenmaier was a past president of the Garden Clubs of Charleston, and a past president of the Council of Garden Clubs of Charleston. She also served as Director of the East Lowcountry District of the Garden Club of South Carolina. In 1997 she received the Special Tribute Award of the South Atlantic Region of the National Council of State Garden Clubs for her work with Camp Wildwood, a natural resource leadership training program for high school students, sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources; the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, and the Garden Club of South Carolina.
She is survived by her niece, Mrs. Shirley M. Chaplin, her nephew, John L. Munzenmaier, Jr., and several grand nieces and nephews.

born in Charleston, S.C., August 7, 1974, Mr. Muscott moved to Manatee County, Fla., from Port Charlotte, Fla., in 1993. He was a partner with Tri Company Irrigation and was later employed as a well driller with Absolute Water Company. He was a member of Sarasota Family Worship Center and Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville, S.C. He was a drug and alcohol counselor with Carolina Outreach Drug and Alcohol Center prior to moving to Florida.
Survivors include, wife, Angie Muscott of Bradenton; two daughters, Chelsea and Morgan; two sons, Chandler and Austin; one sister, Dorothy Christine Muscott of Summerville, S.C.; parents, Jim and Elise Muscott of Summerville, S.C.; paternal grandmother, Florence Muscott of Summerville, S.C.

REICHERT, Maureen
Maureen Mercia Reichert, 68, of North Charleston, died on the evening of November 5, 2001. Friends may call this evening (Wednesday) from 6 until 8 p.m., at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL. Final service and inurnment will be at a later date in her native England.
Maureen was born August 27, 1933, in Dereham, England, the daughter of Marcus and Mercia Willis. She was a graduate of Neatherd High School in Dercham. Mrs. Reichert was an environmental service technician at Trident Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, John E. Reichert; her six children, Marilyn Norton of Dercham, England, Steve (Donna) Willis of Kingslyn, England, Carl (Gladys) Willis of Miami, Fla., Grady (Caroline) Willis of Stamford, England, Christopher (Jackie) Flint of Shipham, England, and Shaun (Lisa) Flint of Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, two sisters and five brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
