Nelson E. Contreras, Sr., of Summerville, died Thursday, November 8, at a local hospital. Thomas Earl Jowers, 75, of Ladson, a retired masonary contractor, died Thursday at his home. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday in CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. born in Lake City, he was the son of William I. Jowers and Leila Evans Jowers. Mr. Jowers was a member of The First Southern Methodist Church in Summerville. She was a daughter of the late James Zeigler and the late Martha Murray Zeigler. She was the widow of Cecil P. Miller.Mrs. Miller was the oldest member of The Lando Baptist Church and was a former member of The Dorchester Waylyn Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and within The Homebound Ministry; she was a past member of Senior Services in Edgemoor and was a member of The Ladies Bible Class And Women In Mission of The Lando Baptist Church.Surviving: Daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. James (Jeanie) Turner of Richburg, SC., son and daughter-in-law, Hershel and Geraldine Miller of Goose Creek, SC., and Johnnie I. Willie Harvey "Billy" Croft, 54, of St. Stephen, SC, a retired truck driver, died Sunday in a Charleston hospital.

Mr. Croft was born Aug. 25, 1947, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Otis Herman Croft and Wilma Wrenn Orvin.
Surviving are his mother of St. Stephen; his step-father, Oliver J. Orvin of St. Stephen; one brother, Scott E. Yarbrough of St. Stephen; one sister, Patsy E. Yarbrough of St. Stephen; and four nieces and two nephews.
