He is the beloved father of Mr. Harold Smith, Jr., Mr. Luther Smith, Mr. Herbert Harrison, Mr. Robert Smith, Mrs. Elnora Garrett, Mrs. Dorothy Scott (Clarence), Mrs. Barbara Smith, Mrs. Gloria Smith, Mrs. Gail Smith, Mrs. Katherine Ancrum and Mrs. Louise Fulton, the late Mr. Anthony Smith, Mr. Henry Smith, and Mr. Timothy Scott, brother of Mrs. Frances Mack, Mr. Frank Taylor (Elnora), the late Mrs. Alice Brown and Mr. Leroy Taylor. CONTRERAS, SR., N.
Nelson E. Contreras, Sr., of Summerville, died Thursday, November 8, at a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mireya Adame Contreras, a son, Nelson Contreras, Jr., two daughters, Yolanda Morillo and Anna Contreras, a brother, Pedro Contreras, two sisters, Fefa Pastor and Maria Elidia Contreras, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Visitation is today from 10:00 until 1:30 at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Goose Creek Chapel, 100 S. Goose Creek Blvd. A graveside service will be at 2:00 in Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner.
AYOUB, Lorraine
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 9, 2001, Lorraine V. Ayoub, wife of Ken Ayoub. Residence, North Charleston, SC. Funeral services for Mrs. Ayoub will be held in Advent Lutheran Church, Sunday, November 11, 2001 at two o'clock. Interment will follow in Bethany cemetery. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road this Saturday evening from five until seven o'clock.born March 27, 1942 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of James Matthew Reid and Narvis Craven Reid Horst. Mrs. Ayoub was a homemaker and attended Advent Lutheran Church. She was a community activist and was co-founder of the group C.H.O.I.C.E.S.Survivors include her husband, Ken Ayoub of N. Charleston; a son, Kenneth Erick Ayoub of N. Charleston; a sister, Delores R. Cabal of N. Charleston, three grandchildren, Richard Merrion, Michael Hays and Christina Hays. Mrs. Ayoub was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Lorraine Hays and a brother, James M. Reid, Jr.Memorials may be made to Carolina Youth Development Center, 5055 Lackawanna Blvd., N. JOWERS, Thomas
Thomas Earl Jowers, 75, of Ladson, a retired masonary contractor, died Thursday at his home. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday in CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. born in Lake City, he was the son of William I. Jowers and Leila Evans Jowers. Mr. Jowers was a member of The First Southern Methodist Church in Summerville. He was a member of Quail Unlimited.Survivors include his wife, Nadine Daniels Jowers; a daughter, Sonia Jowers Zwick of North Charleston; sons, William E. Jowers of Goose Creek; Daniel Dexter Jowers of Summerville and Carol Lewain Jowers of Ladson; sisters, Edith J. Dubose and Ethel M. Jowers, both of Lake City; a brother, James W. Jowers of Johnsonville and four grandchildren.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. MILLER, Corrie
RICHBURG, SC. - Mrs. Corrie Lee Zeigler Miller, age 92, of 120 S. Main Street, Richburg, SC., died Thursday, at The Sunshine Village in Rock Hill, SC. born July 10, 1909 in Bamburg, SC. She was a daughter of the late James Zeigler and the late Martha Murray Zeigler. She was the widow of Cecil P. Miller.Mrs. Miller was the oldest member of The Lando Baptist Church and was a former member of The Dorchester Waylyn Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and within The Homebound Ministry; she was a past member of Senior Services in Edgemoor and was a member of The Ladies Bible Class And Women In Mission of The Lando Baptist Church.Surviving: Daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. James (Jeanie) Turner of Richburg, SC., son and daughter-in-law, Hershel and Geraldine Miller of Goose Creek, SC., and Johnnie I. Miller of Riverside, California; sisters, Mrs. Sabra Kittrell of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. Fannie Gandy Elgin, S.C., 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Leroy "Buster" Crawford, 76, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Thursday in a North Charleston hospital.The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Macedonia Church of God of Prophecy. CROFT, Willie H.
Willie Harvey "Billy" Croft, 54, of St. Stephen, SC, a retired truck driver, died Sunday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 13, 2001, in the ST. STEPHEN CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call at the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Kennedy Center, 306 Airport Dr., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
Mr. Croft was born Aug. 25, 1947, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Otis Herman Croft and Wilma Wrenn Orvin.
Surviving are his mother of St. Stephen; his step-father, Oliver J. Orvin of St. Stephen; one brother, Scott E. Yarbrough of St. Stephen; one sister, Patsy E. Yarbrough of St. Stephen; and four nieces and two nephews.
CHAPMAN, Joyce
