COBB, Margie
ST. GEORGE - Mrs. Marjorie Jones Cobb, 54, of 308-A Gavin St., St. George died Monday, November 12, 2001 at a Charleston hospital after an extended illness. She was the widow of John Cobb. Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, St. George, SC with Dr. John H. Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the Britt cemetery. The family hour will be held 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cobb was born January 17, 1947 in Freedom, Penn., a daughter of the late Ms. Martha Jones. She was a dedicated member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she served faithfully as an usher, member of the Mass and Adult Choir and the church membership secretary. She was a retired daycare employee.
Surviving are two sons, Allen Leroy (Rhonda) Jones of Temple Hill, Md. and John Jermaine (Larissa) Cobb of St. George, SC'; four sisters, Mrs. Catherine (Barry) Skyes of Pontiac, Michigan, Ms. Clarine Jones and Mrs. Mary Jane Gilliam both of Freedom, Penn., Mrs. Delores "DD" Jones of Pontiac, Michigan; three brothers, Robert (Mary) Jones of Beaver Falls, Penn., Edward (Mamie) Jones of Freedom, Penn. and Paul (Michelle) Jones of Minneapolis, Minn. She is also survived by six aunts, one uncle and three grandchildren, Divine Jones, Gabriel Berry and Shamel N. Starks all of St. George, SC. MITCHELL, Elizabeth
Elizabeth LaBruce Mitchell, 46, of Portland, Org., formerly of Charleston, SC, died Wednesday evening at a local Oregon hospital. She was born in Charleston, a daughter of John Magill Mitchell and Edith LaBruce Mitchell of Mount Pleasant. Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Edith M. Blair and Ann M. Burger, both of Mt. Pleasant, an aunt, Virginia W. Mitchell of Charleston, one nephew, and one niece. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. KETCHIE, Irvin
Irvin C. Ketchie, 81, of North Charleston, died Thursday morning, November 15, 2001. Friends are invited to attend the visitation this evening (Friday) from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTH AREA CHAPEL, DORCHESTER ROAD. Funeral services and burial will be conducted next week in Anna, Illinois.
A native of Dongola, Illinois, Mr. Ketchie retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1967. In 1969, he moved to Charleston and was the owner and operator of Ketchie's Airline Operations at Charleston International Airport. He was a member of Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Brimm Ketchie, his daughters and sons-in-law, Janis and David DeWitt of North Charleston and Bobbye and Dave Heerboth of Webster Grove, Missouri. He is also survived by his three granddaughters, Sarah and Eliza Heerboth and Dana DeWitt and his grandson, Dave DeWitt. Two sisters, Lela Casper of Anna, Ill. and Lorraine Reecher of Lake Oswego, Org. also survive.

COSTE, Thomas
Thomas "Tom" Henry Coste, 54, of Isle of Palms, SC died Wednesday, November 14, 2001. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas "Tom" Coste are invited to attend the Memorial Service of the former Saturday, November 17, 2001 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 4:00 o'clock. Interment will be private.
Mr. Coste was born September 27, 1947 in Charleston, SC, a son of James William and Elizabeth O'Brien Coste. He worked for Prudential Carolina Realty Company and graduated from Benedictine High School, Savannah, GA. He received his BA in Journalism from the University of Georgia.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Gales of Isle of Palms, SC, one sister, Margaret C. Youmans of Mt. Pleasant, SC, one brother, Capt. James W. Coste, Jr., US Coast Guard, Ret., Aiea, Hawaii, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

CRAVEN, James
James Michael Craven, age 51, resident of North Falmouth, Mass. died on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 at the JML Care Center in Falmouth after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Catherine (Larkin) Craven and his two young children, Johanna Marie and James Michael Craven also of North Falmouth. Mr. Craven is also survived by his mother, Olivia (Bartles) Craven of Racing Beach, Falmouth and Boston and two sisters, Atty. Terry Craven of Milton and Sheila Doyle of Norwood. He was the son of the late Hon. James J. Craven, Jr. State Representative from Boston for 32 years. Mr. Craven was born in Jamaica Plain and was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. He graduated in 1967 from Xaverian Bros. High School in Westwood, Mass. where he was co-captain of the swim team and a member of the track and football teams. Mr. Craven attended University of Rhode Island and Boston State College where he majored in Marine Biology. Mr. Craven served in the United States Air Force. He was a disabled veteran.
Mr. Craven pursued his love of marine life as a commercial fisherman on several vessels in the Carolinas and Bermuda. He settled in Isle of Palms in South Carolina in 1972. Mr. Craven was employed in South Carolina as a Shell Fish Officer for the Dept. of Health and Environmental Control of South Carolina for over 8 years. He was a member of the Stella Maris Parish on Sullivan's Island, SC. Mr. Craven and his wife returned to Massachusetts in 1992, where he was employed as an Environmental Police Officer with the Massachusetts State Division of Wildlife and Fisheries. His work focused on the Cape and Islands. Mr. Craven was recognized for his superior work as an Environmental Police Officer by receiving the Department's outstanding police officer award in the year 2000. He was the treasurer of the Environmental Police Officer Assoc. in Massachusetts and was actively involved with the Falmouth Little League. Mr. Craven was an active parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church where he helped form a cancer support group. DORCHESTER, S.C. - Herbert Adam Smith, Jr., age 60, of 437 Taylor Pond Road, Dorchester, S.C. 29437, died Wednesday, November 14, 2001. Mr. Smith was born April 17, 1941, in Ridgeville, S.C., a son of the late Herbert Adam Smith, Sr., and Madeline Tucker Smith. He was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School and was retired after 38 years as supervisor of maintenance at Norfolk-Southern Railroad's Brosnan Forest. He was a member of Cyprus United Methodist Church and an avid outdoorsman, a member of Albi and the Good Cheer Hunting Clubs. Surviving are his wife, Ann Griffith Smith, Dorchester, two daughters, Susan S. Bishop, Dorchester, Robin S. Riley, Harleyville, two sisters, Mildred S. Blanton, Summerville, and Nancy S. Currie, Charleston, four grandchildren, Adam Bishop and Madison Bishop, of Dorchester and Jared Riley and Katelin Riley of Harleyville. MOYE, Eula
GOOSE CREEK - Mrs. Eula Mae Carter Moye, 81, a certified school teacher and retired employee of Mimm's Amusement Company died early Wednesday morning at her residence following a long illness. Mrs. Moye, the daughter of the late Herbert and Lois Carter, was born on May 1, 1920, in Baker, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel S.T. "Tommy" Moye, and her son, Karl T. Moye, Sr. Surviving relatives include one sister, Madie Ewing of Niceville, Fla.; one brother, Joe Carter of Milligan, Fla., and one grandson, Karl T. Moye, Jr.

Previously of Greenville, SC and wife of the late James Haskell Kennedy. born in Enola, Pennsylvania to the late Victor and Francis Lafferty Coble. Her son, James Frank Kennedy predeceased Mrs. Kennedy. She is survived by her two sons, Lester Kennedy of Orlando, Fla. and Billy Kennedy of Greenville, SC.; three daughters, Patricia Kennedy of Charleston, Vicki Armstrong of Greenville, SC. and Jean Kennedy of Charleston; a brother, Forrest Coble and a sister, Phyllis Zolo both of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, also surviving Mrs. Kennedy are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
