WRIGHT, Betsy
GREEN POND - Betsy Gillyard Wright, 82, of Green Pond, died on Saturday, November 10, 2001 in a local hospital in Columbia, SC.
Funeral service will be at 12 o'clock noon on Saturday, November 17, 2001 in Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in Green Pond. Burial will be directed by Hamilton's Funeral Home in the Church cemetery.
Mrs. Wright, a daughter of the late Richard and Clara Gillyard, was born in Colleton County and attended the public schools there. She was a member of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church and attended regularly, serving on various auxiliaries, until her health failed and she moved to Columbia.
She was united in holy matrimony to Harry Wright. Mr. Wright and a son, Alex, predeceased her in death.
Survivors are: five daughters, Lucy Wright of Bronx, NY, Geneva Gillyard of Brooklyn, NY, Fannie Gary of Viera Beach, Fla., Anna Wright and Gloria Blackman of Miami, Fla.; six sons, Charles Wright, Wesley Wright and Clarence Wright, all of Miami, Fla., Marion Wright of Cayce, Larry Gillyard of Hepzibah, Geo. and Arthur Gillyard of Spring Lake, NC.

RATHBUN, Patrick
CHARLESTON - Patrick J. Cassius Rathbun, age 26 of Charleston, SC died Wednesday, November 14, 2001 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
born March 15, 1975 in Omaha, Neb., he was the son of Dr. John E. Rathbun and Diane M. Mitchell. Pat was a 1993 graduate of Brookwood High School in Atlanta, Ga. and was enrolled at the College of Charleston where he was pursuing a degree in business. He served with distinction in the US Army.
Surviving in addition to his father and step-mother, Lil A. Rathbun of Myrtle Beach and his mother and step-father, Jesse James Mitchell of Atlanta and his brother, Christopher J. Rathbun; step-brother, Kristopher E. Thapoung both of SC; step-sister, Kelly Herrick of Napa Valley; maternal grandmother, Lois Jensen of Omaha, Neb. and paternal grandmother, Colleen E. Rathbun of Surfside Beach.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at GOLDFINCH FUNERAL HOME, BEACH CHAPEL.
Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday at Belin United Methodist Church.

Frances Lee Walker, 75, of James Island entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 14, 2001. Ms. Walker was born Sunday, September 26, 1926 in Memphis, TN. the daughter of the late Harvey and Sally Walker. Ms. Walker had lived for the past 11 years with her sister-in-law, Cynthia Walker and her late brother, Charles Walker. Surviving are two brothers, Harvey Walker and Richard Walker; four sisters, Ophelia Balentine, Naomi Hagan, Patsy Arceneaux and Dian Cease. Many relatives and friends will mourn the loss of this tenacious woman with a heart of gold. NEESES - Mrs. Louvie C. Gleaton, 85, died Wednesday, November 14, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2001 at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Gleaton, Rev. Wilton Gleaton, Rev. John Anthony and Rev. Joe Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Swamp Methodist Church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Gleaton was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Julia Elizabeth Chavis. She was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church and was first married
to the late Bernice Baltzigar and then to the late J.L. Gleaton.
Survivors include daughters: Mrs. Rexie (Edith) Williams of Neeses and Mrs. John (Nina) Anthony of Elgin; sons: Nathaniel Baltzigar, Rev. Walter Gleaton, Wesley Gleaton, Kenneth Gleaton and Richard Gleaton all of Neeses and Rev. Wilton O. Gleaton of St. Stephen; sisters: Eula Mae Baltzigar and Bertie Lee Williams both of North and Dorothy Bolin of West Columbia; brother: Berdell Chavis of North; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
