HEMINGWAY - Mrs. Clara Powers Cox, 88, wife of the late Fluitt C. Cox, died Wednesday at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Morris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Johnsonville cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Loretta C. Tyler of Hemingway; her grandchildren, Algernon Tyler of Mt. Holly, NC. and Penelope Timbes of Conway; her sisters, Docia Eaddy of Sumter, Hallie Orouke of Charleston, Cleora Thompson of Hemingway and Pauline Thompson of West Columbia.
Mrs. Cox was born in Hemingway, SC. a daughter of the late Thomas Powers and Lula Carter Powers. She was a member of Hemingway First Baptist Church.

HEYWARD, Nathaniel
WALTERBORO - Nathaniel "Nat" Heyward, 58, of Walterboro died November 19, 2001 at a Charleston hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 o'clock a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2001 in Elizabeth Holiness Church in the Ritter community. Burial will be directed by Hamilton's Funeral Home in the Church cemetery.
Mr. Heyward, a son of the late Rev. Willie and Mrs. Elizabeth Padgett Heyward, was born in Colleton County. He was a member of Elizabeth Holiness Church.
"Nat", as he was known by many, attended the public schools in Colleton County. After graduating from high school, he furthered his education at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. Upon leaving South Carolina State University he served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and received several metals and badges such as the Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Marksmanship Badge (N-14) Rifle, and .45 Caliber Pistol Marksmanship Badge. Later he attended the Police Academy, where he began his twenty-two year career as a police officer, and retired from the Walterboro Police Department.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Heyward; six, William Lamonte Heyward, Krystal Anita Heyward, Carlos De'Jesus Heyward and Sonya Goodwin all of Columbia, Ernest Moultrie of Walterboro and Lisa Brooks of Detroit, Michigan; four sisters, Dorothy Brock and Annette Francis all of Baltimore, Maryland, Naomi Ford of Walterboro and Alonia Washington of Atlanta, Georgia.
BERRY, Mary
WALTERBORO - Mary Sanders Berry, 95, widow of G. Legare Berry, died Wednesday at the Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the graveside in Live Oak cemetery, conducted by Rev. Lee Cothran and directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Berry was born Feb. 22, 1906 in Cottageville, a daughter of the late Lawrence McCants Sanders and Georgia Addison Sanders. She was a member of the Guild. She was a retired manager of Novit's Fashion Shoppe.
Surviving are a son, Thomas L. Berry of Walterboro, a daughter, Carolyn B. Holder of Port Royal, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
DILLINGHAM, Duane
Duane Luther Dillingham, 38, of Goose Creek entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 22 at a local hospital. born in Gowanda, NY to Keith and Helen Andrews Dillingham. Duane was currently a Mortgage Broker with LoanCents Mortgage Brokers. He served his country in the United States Navy for 10 years. Duane was a graduate of Trident Technical College and attended Midway Baptist Church. He was a member of the Ladson VFW Post 3433 and was a member of the Kiwanis Club. Duane is survived by his parents, Keith and Helen Dillingham of North Collins, NY., his beloved fianc‚e, Sheila A. Perdue of Goose Creek, a daughter, Miranda Dillingham of Summerville, brother, David K. Dillingham of Lakeview, NY., and a sister, Diana L. Orr of Buffalo, NY. Willie Mae Jones, 87, of Moncks Corner, SC., a former spooler in various textile plants, died Wednesday in a North Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Jones was born May 7, 1914, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of William King and Sara King King. She is the widow of Manuel Lee Jones. She was a charter member of the Oakley Road Church of God.
Surviving are three daughters, Janet Knight of Virginia Beach, Va., Patsy Canady of Ozark, Mo. and Brenda Mikkelsen of Moncks Corner; two sons, Jack F. Freeman of Moncks Corner and Billy E. Jones of Bonneau; a daughter-in-law, Frances Jones of Bonneau; a sister, Maggie Deas of Fort Mill, SC; and eighteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
