The relatives and friends of Mr. Antonio Jevon Heyward are invited to attend his funeral service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2001 in Jehovah Jireh Deliverence Church, 5661 Old Jacksonboro Rd. Interment will follow at Wilson cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Heyward will be Friday, 3:00 until to 5:00 p.m. at the Hollywood Chapel and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church. The family hour will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Heyward is survived by his parents, Mrs. Janie L. Jackson and Mr. Benjamin F. Green; a daughter, Antwania Jevonshay "Tyree" Heyward; brothers, Benjamin F. Heyward, Torrence Douglas and Bernard F. Green; sisters, Alaina and Tameka Heyward, Dashon Newkirk and Lillian Green; grandfather, Mr. Hezekiah Green; great-grandmother, Mrs. Evamae Duncan; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Lavenia Battles "Martha Lee" are invited to attend her funeral service 12:00 noon Saturday, November 24, 2001 in St. James Baptist Church, 4537 Petersfield Rd., Yonges Is. Rev. James Grant, Sr. pastor. Interment will follow at Wilson cemetery. Viewing for Mrs. Battles will be Friday 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Hollywood Chapel and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Battles is survived by her daughter and sons, Mrs. Janet Brown of Hollywood, Mr. James Spears and Mr. Nathaniel Spears both of New Haven, Ct.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Laura Mae Drayton of Orlando, Fl.; aunts, Mrs. Nellie Grant, Mrs. Betty Heyward and Mrs. Eva Mae Duncan. Cooper and Mrs. Flora Dixon both of Columbia, SC and Mr. Thomas Bradford of Manning, SC; adopted nephew of Mrs. Mattie Mouzon; brother-in-law of Carolyn Rivers (Rev. Nelson Rivers, III), Sheila S. Mr. Grimes is the beloved husband of Mrs. Marguerite Evans Grimes, the father of LeRoy Grimes, Jr. (Margaret) of Charleston, SC., Paula Denise Grimes of Raleigh, NC, Marva Grimes Scott (Brian) of Goldsboro, NC., Alberta Katrina Grimes of Atlanta, Ga., Viette Grimes Aikens, Greg Leon Aikens of Charleston, SC. Beloved grandfather of Brian Anthony Scott II and Alexis Brittanie Aikens. Brother of Lucretia Greene (late Jesse) of Queens, NY., Mary Sylvester (Artie) of Manhattan, NY., stepbrother of James Draper of Bamberg, SC. Nephew of Evelyn Fields (late Ben) Bronx, NY., Mary James (Buster) of Bamberg, SC and Arebella Grimes (late Monnie) of Charleston, SC. Son-in-law of Geneva Evans of Mt. Pleasant, SC. TANNER, Rhodie
HEMINGWAY - Rhodie Cribb Tanner, 87, wife of Wister S. Tanner, died Wednesday in a Conway hospital.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Center Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by MORRIS FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Tanner was born in Hemingway a daughter of the late Robert L. Cribb and Della Powers Cribb. She was a member of the Center Baptist Church.
Surviving includes her husband of 72 years, Wister S. Tanner; her children, Wilma T. Foxworth of Hemingway, Samuel E. Tanner of Georgetown, Thomas A. Tanner, Charles H. Tanner of Hemingway, Gene A. Tanner, Cinda T. Woodberry of Kings Mtn., NC, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

ABSHER, Jacqueline
Jacqueline Denise Smith Absher, 32, of Summerville, a Charleston Southern University student and a Lowe's of Summerville employee, died Wednesday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Absher was born June 10, 1969 at Asheville, North Carolina, a daughter of Tom M. Smith, Jr. and Margaret Eppley Smith. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, James A. Absher, Jr. of Summerville; parents of Summerville; brother, John Michael Smith of Easley; maternal grandmother, Frances Helloms of Gray Court, SC.
