Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 27, 2001, Elvera Linnea Larson Soderlund, widow of Oscar A. Soderlund. Residence, Goose Creek, S.C. Friends may call at J. She was born July 5, 1908, in Middletown, Conn., the daughter of Alfred Larson and Josephine Dahlstrand Larson. She was a retired assistant librarian with Rutgers University. She was a Presbyterian.
She is survived by four sons, Donald Soderlund of Wharton, N.J., Kenneth Soderlund of Charlottesville, Va., Ted Soderlund of Charleston, S.C., and David Soderlund of Goose Creek, S.C.; one brother, Lennart Larson of Stamford, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
DARR, Ruby
Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of November 26, 2001, Ruby Blanche Passailaigue Darr, widow of the Reverend Joseph Haynsworth Darr. Residence, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Mrs. Darr was born October 24, 1907, in Charleston County, S.C., the daughter of John Cornelius Passailaigue and Mamie Blanche Williams Passailaigue. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston.
Surviving are two daughters, Blanche Ellen Darr Smith of Charleston, S.C., and Ruby Jo Darr Hahn of Lakeland, Fla.; two sons-in-law, James P. Hahn of Florida and Richard P. Loveland of New Jersey; six grandchildren, Gwen S. McKee, Mary Jo S. Spence, William Darr Smith, Rev. James P. Hahn, Jr., Darrcy A. Loveland and Richard P. Loveland, Jr., and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. McDowell was born September 26, 1950, in Cullman, Ala., the son of Floyd Quinton McDowell and Ophelia Barnett McDowell. He was employed by MUSC. He retired with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Amanda Lleigh Hill and Stephanie Ann McDowell Crider, both of Cullman, Ala.; one brother, George Q. McDowell and one sister, Judyann M. Parker both of Cullman, Ala., and five grandchildren.

HALLMAN, Ronald
Entered into eternal rest at his residence, November 20, 2001, Ronald "Ronnie Herman" Thomas Hallman. Residence, Ridgeville, S.C. All services for Mr. Hallman will be private.
born, May 5, 1942, in Fort Valley, Ga., Mr. Hallman was the son of the late Albert R. and Florence Hiley Hallman. He was a self-employed electrician and plumber and was a Baptist. Mr. Hallman was an Army veteran and served in Germany with Company C, 3rd Battalion, 36th Infantry, from January 1964, to January 1966, and was a member of V.F.W. Post 3142. The Riley families and friends of Ridgeville were his family. He loved the Ridgeville people like his family. Mr. Hallman is survived by two daughters, Daphne Moncrief of Ft. Valley, Ga., and Scarlet D. Sanders of Lizella, Ga.; two sisters, Pat H. Fountain of Warner Robins, Ga., and Janice H. Mathews of Ft. Valley, Ga.; three brothers, Bud Hallman of N. Charleston, James "Dinky" Hallman of Ft. Valley, Ga., and John Ross Hallman of Ft. Valley, Ga., and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
JENKINS, Earnest
Earnest "Jenk" Jenkins, Sr., 68, of 785 St. Paul Road, Dorchester, S.C. died Friday, November 23, 2001 in a Charleston hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at the Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Harleyville, S.C. with the Rev. Francis McPherson, officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins was born October 14, 1933 in Dorchester County. A son of the late Thurston Jenkins and Mrs. Bessie Kennerly Jenkins Lambright. He attended the public schools of Dorchester County and was a retired laborer and member of the Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He was the widower of Mrs. Robert Senior Smith Jenkins.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jacqueline (Roger) Barton of Elizabeth Town, KY., Ms. Sandra Jenkins of St. George, S.C. and Mrs. Sharon (James) Speller of Dorchester, S.C., two sons, Earnest (Theresa) Jenkins, Jr. and Vernon Smith both of Alexandria, VA.; four brothers, Lathio Jenkins Jenkins, James Jenkins, Charles Lambright and Marion Lambright all of Miami, FLA., three sisters, Mrs. Pansie Jenkins and Mrs. Hattie Jenkins Walters both of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Mary Alice Lambright of Ridgeville, S.C. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

BOWERS, Randolph
Randolph Samuel Bowers, 92, of Waynesboro, Virginia, died November 29, 2001 in a Mt. Pleasant hospital. Mr. Bowers was recently a resident at Baldwin Park in Staunton, Virginia. He was born January 17, 1909 near Timberville, Virginia and was a son of Samuel Casper and Sarah Emily Campbell Bowers.
Mr. Bowers was retired after forty years of employment with E.I. Dupont in Waynesboro. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Bowers was a long time member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church.
On February 19, 1938, he married
the late Mary Kate Crider. He is survived by a son, Randy, and his wife, Debbie of Mount Pleasant, S.C., a brother, Leighton Bowers of Waynesboro, Va., a sister, Ruby Tuner, of Broadway, Va.; three grandchildren, Jordan Bowers, Nathan Bowers, and Rachel Bowers; and number of nieces and nephews.
