Mrs. Scarborough was born in Clarendon County, S.C., a daughter of William O'Donnell Gardner and Letitia Graham Gardner. She was a retired registered nurse, a directress of the Altar Guild for 25 years at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and the first female Vestry Person at Good Shepherd. She was Valedictorian of both her high school class and her nursing school graduating class.
Surviving are her daughter, Caroline Prause, her son, A. Wilson Scarborough, both of Charleston, S.C., her sister, Laura G. Jackson of Manning, S.C., three grandsons, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the widow of Arthur W. Scarborough.

William Elliott "Bill" Berger, 55, of Summerville, a trucking company owner and musician, died Monday at his home. Funeral services will beheld at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. born in Charleston, he was the son of Vincent Carl Berger and Patricia Hinson Berger. Mr. Berger was a 1968 Citadel Graduate. He was a member of the Lonnie Hamilton Group for nine years, a member of the Blue Notes and performed for a number of local restaurants through the years. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Lawhon Berger; sons, William Elliott Berger, II, and his wife, Millie, of Goose Creek, Andrew Elliott Berger and his wife, Laura, of Little Rock, Ark.; sisters, Gina Berger of Charleston, Frances Riding of Ravenel, and Margaret Richardson of Charleston; a brother, Joe Smith of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren, Pamela Marie Berger and Loren Madison Berger. WALTERBORO - Mr. Lewis Charles "L.C." Warren, 63, of 110 Klein St., died Monday in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME with Rev. John Harbin and Rev. Clark Hughes officiating. Burial will be private.
Mr. Warren was born in Colleton County, a son of the late Charles English Warren and Hattie Long Warren. He was an employee with Budget Tire and was a member of the South Carolina National Guard. He was a member of Sandy Dam United Methodist Church. He was first married
to the late Mary Carson Warren.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Tingle Warren, a son, Charles Warren of Walterboro, three daughters, Beth Bough of Charleston, Melissa Feeney of Tampa, FL, and Tammy Rowan of North Charleston, three brothers, Tom Warren, Harold Warren and Mike Warren, all of Walterboro. Two sisters, Ruby Harriott and Diane Preacher, both of Walterboro and 14 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. Wednesday until the service hour.

born in Holly Grove, Arkansas, he was the son of Lester Davis and Annie Overton Davis Maroon. Mr. Davis was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Athabelle Sims Davis; daughters, Barbara D. David and Janet D. Hood both of Macedonia, Dorothy D. Smith of Ladson and Joan D. Bolton of Summerville; Betty D. Johnson of Dunlap, Tenn, a sister, Anita M. Reed of Memphis, Tenn; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

FLORENCE - Mrs. Avis Linnell Ulmer Arnold, 85, of 718 South Dargan Street in Florence, (The Carolinian) died early Tuesday morning in a local Florence hospital.
Mrs. Arnold was born in Cummings (Hampton County) October 24, 1915 a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus Ulmer and Loutilla Gertrude Mixon Ulmer. She and her late husband, Turner Wilkerson Arnold owned and operated the Yemassee Dry Cleaners in Yemassee for many years. She was a member of the Yemassee Baptist Church and had attended the Southside Baptist Church in Florence.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Roderick Franklin and Sandra Arnold of Florence; granddaughter and husband, Cindeth and Wick Jackson of Cochabamba, Bolivia, South America; grandsons and wives, Lt. Col. Randall Todd and Lea Arnold of O'Fallon, Illinois; and Russell Scott and Nell Arnold of Florence. There are 8 great granddaughters.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Carolinian Home at 718 South Dargan Street in Florence, with funeral services Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Yemassee Baptist Church in Yemassee, S.C. (Hampton County) with burial in the Ebenezer cemetery in Yemassee, directed by PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME in Hampton.
Friends may call at the chapel in Hampton Thursday during the day until 2:30 p.m. when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.
