HERNDON, Adell
WALTERBORO - Mrs. Adell Herndon, 93, of 401 Witsell Street died Tuesday at a local medical center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Grace Advent Christian Church with Rev. Wayne Lucas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Herndon was born in Colleton county, a daughter of the late David Craven and Charlotte Bootle Craven. She was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church, where she was a member of the W.H. & F.M. She was the widow of Howard Herndon.
Surviving are her step-mother, Elsie Craven of Walterboro, a son, Charles Craven of Walterboro, a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Smith of Walterboro, a brother, Oscar Craven of Walterboro, a step-brother, George R. Craven of Goose Creek, four half brothers, Jerry Craven, Donnie Craven, Buddy Craven, and Eldon Craven, all of Walterboro. A half-sister, Pat Duncan of Orlando, FL, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.

WAUWATOSA, WI - Frieda L. Freiberg (nee Witshouke) died September 29, 2001, at Luther Manor in Wauwatosa, Wisc., at the age of 95 years.
born April 19, 1906, in Green Grove, Wisc. Widow of the late Alfred Freiberg. Alfred was president of the Fond du Lac Abstract Co., in Fond du Lac, Wisc., for 25 years. They lived there until 1985 when they moved to Charleston, S.C. In 1991 they moved to Harrisonburg, Va., to live with their daughter before moving to Luther Manor in 1994.
Loving mother of Joyce (Thomas) Christie of Cedarburg, Wisc., and Alice Stecker of Harrisonburg, Va. Further survived b four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service on Thursday, October 4, at Luther Manor Faith and Education Center, 4545 N. 92nd St., Wauwatosa, Wisc., at 11 a.m., the Rev. Paul Peterson of Faith Lutheran Church officiating where Frieda was a member. Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Private interment at Woodlawn cemetery in Plymouth, Wisc.

Jonnie Renae Schultz, 9, of Schultz Lane, Cross, S.C., a third grade student at Cross Elementary School, died Monday.

McCOLLUM, Billie
NEWBERRY, S.C. - Mrs. Billie Ann Steinkuhler McCollum, 62, of 2309 Armfield Ave., Newberry, died Monday, October 1, 2001, at a Newberry County hospital.
born in Chester, she was a daughter of Mrs. Willie Mae Plexico Steinkuhler of Charleston and the late Albert Julian Steinkuhler. She was a retired employee of Moose Construction Company and a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church and the WELCA.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Rev. Dr. Robert E. McCollum; her sons, Robert Delano McCollum and Samuel Eugene McCollum, both of Chester; a sister, Lois Steinkuhler Vogles of Charleston; and two grandchildren, Robert Delano McCollum, Jr., and Robert Parker McCollum.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. Art Hallman and the Rev. Delano Ricard. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, Wednesday evening, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.

Margaret L. Flynt, 84, died Monday, October 1, 2001, at her home in Goose Creek. born September 16, 1917, in Savannah, Ga., she was the daughter of Robert Grady and Annie M. Flynt (nee Cushing). Miss Flynt was employed by Wieners Company in Georgia. She was a member of the Summerville Community Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her brothers, James, Robert G. and William C. Flynt preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Charles Flynt, Goose Creek, and four sisters, Annie L. LaBayne, Goose Creek, Marie Geier, Brookville, Md., Eleanor Cave, Sylvania, Ga., and Lillian Crawford, East Avon, N.Y. She was a member of the Daughters of America where she served as a National Counselor, Order of Amaranth, and Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a son, J. Harvey Wittschen, Jr., of Folly Beach, S.C., a daughter, Joann W. Burks of Clearwater, Fla., a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, two brothers, James P. Tanner and John W. Tanner, both of Charleston, S.C., a sister, Mary T. Willis of North Charleston, S.C., and several nieces and nephews.
