MILLS, Maxine
Maxine Miller Mills, 81, of Moncks Corner, died Thursday at a Moncks Corner nursing home.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at St. John's Baptist Church, Pinopolis. Burial, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be private.
Mrs. Mills was born February 21, 1920 in Hamilton, Alabama, a daughter of Paul D. Miller and Estelle Northam Miller. She was a member of Woodmen of the World and the First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach. She was a long time resident of Myrtle Beach and has been a resident of Moncks Corner since October, 1999. She was the widow of Tom V. Mills.
Surviving are two sons, Tom V. Mills, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, Mickey Mills of Nashville, TN; daughter, Mrs. Albert Boyt, Jr. (Mary Nell) of Pinopolis; three sisters, Mary E. Clark of Auburn, AL, Regina Nixon of Laceys Springs, AL, Claire J. Cook of Hamilton, AL; three brothers, Douglas Green and Gatmon Green both of Hamilton, AL, Jim Green of Muscle Shoals, AL; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Arrangements by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Memorials may be made tot the charity of one's choice or to St. John's Endowment Fund, c/o First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner, 112 East Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven brothers and sisters, two children and a grandson, Jeffrey Boyt.
BLACK, Dwight
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Dwight Edmund Black, 78, a retired electrician, died Thursday in Lake Toxaway, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Walterboro, SC, conducted by Rev. Ed Stiltz, and directed by the Fred Parker Funeral Home.
Mr. Black was born March 15, 1923 in Denmark, SC, a son of the late Rev. Walter Black and Vera Crosby Black Blakewood. He was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local 1579). He was a Navy veteran of W.W. II and was the widower of Hortense Sweet Black.
Surviving are two step-daughters, Norma McCall of Lake Toxaway, NC and Peggy Foster of Orangeburg, and a sister, Ava B. Thorson of Walterboro. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Memorials may be made to the Jernigan Cancer Fund, c/o University Hospital, Augusta, GA.
The family will receive friends following the funeral services at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Miller was born April 17, 1945 in Camden, SC, a daughter of Robert Hough Fletcher and Mrs. Marian Miles Fletcher. She received her Bachelors Degree from Winthrop College and Masters Degree from the Citadel. An educator, Mrs. Miller taught at the former Chicora High School, R.B. Stall High School, Midland Park Elementary School all in Charleston County and for 17 years at Westview Middle School in Goose Creek, SC, where she was teacher of the year (1986-1987). Her family and children wish to express their sincere gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love and support for Donna and the family. It has been obvious that God has blessed this family with an even larger family of friends. Her family would like to honor her by encouraging all who knew her to remember her in the many roles that she played; wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, student, teacher, aunt and friend.
Surviving Mrs. Miller are her mother of Kershaw, SC, husband of Goose Creek, SC; sons, Michael Arthur Miller, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC, Timothy and his wife, Nicole Lange Miller of Summerville, SC, her daughter, Susan Miller of Goose Creek, SC, her sister, Jan and husband Randy Collins of Lancaster, SC, brother, Bob and wife Linda Fletcher of Huntsville, AL, her nephew, Mark Fletcher of Winston-Salem, NC and was predeceased by a brother Thomas Baxter Fletcher.

Mr. McDougall was born in OlongapoCity, Philippines on March 1, 1974 to Allen Clayton McDougall and Alicia Jalandoni McDougall. He was formerly employed with Harris Teeter Grocery Store and a member of International Christian Church in Goose Creek, SC.
Surviving are father and mother, Allen Clayton McDougall and Alicia Jalandoni McDougall, both of the home; sister, Maryann Jalandoni Moran of Goose Creek, SC; maternal grandmother, Adelina Jalandoni of Manassas, VA; paternal great-grandmother, Georgia Chambers of Baxter Springs, KA. SANTOS, William
William Anthony Santos, Jr., 74, died Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at a local hospital. born October 14, 1926 in Charleston, SC, he was the son of William A. Santos, Sr. and Catherine Conlon Santos. He was a graduate of Bishop England High School, a member of the Merchant Marines and later served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II witnessing the testing of the atomic bomb and traveled to the South Pole with an expedition of Admiral Byrd. He attended Clemson University and later, trained by his father, was a licensed Harbour Pilot in Port Royall. He retired as Project Manager of Flour-
Daniel Construction International. He was a member of the Master's Mate's and Pilot's Association in Charleston. Mr. Santos is survived by his wife Mildred Garrett Santos of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sons, William Anthony Santos III, of N. Charleston, Thomas Jay Santos of Florence, S.C. and James Earle Santos of Albany, GA; two daughters, Mary Ellen Saare of Tulsa, OK and Catherine Ann Smith of Gilbert, SC; one sister, Mary Santos Blanchard of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two brothers, Eugene C. Santos of Charleston, SC and John J. Santos of Mt. Pleasant, SC; 10 grandchildren and 20 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Ann Santos Henry.
