The relatives and friends of Mrs. Isabell Smalls Legare, are invited to attend her funeral service 12:00 noon Saturday, October 6, 2001 at the Old Ashley Baptist Center, Old Pond Rd., Johns Island. Interment will follow at Wesley UM Church cemetery. Friends may visit Friday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Hollywood Chapel. The remains will lie in state at Wesley UM Church Friday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Christian Wake beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Legare is the daughter of the late Evelina Smalls Mitchell and Marion Forrest, Sr. She is survived by her step-mother, Mrs. Dorothy Forrest; husband, Mr. Richard Legare; sons and daughter, Frederick Smalls (Cynthia), Kenneth Legare (Debra), Miranda Legare Lemon (Joseph); Michael Legare (Jacqueline), and Mark Legare (Andrea); granddaughter, Auriel Smalls (reared in the home); adopted daughter, Mrs. Devora Zellers; grandchildren, sisters and brothers, Carrie Carter (David), Edna Carter (Edward), Betty Deas (Louis), David Mitchell (Hollena), Elizabeth Davis (David), Viola Simmons, Sarah Mitchell, Rose Mitchell, Virginia Mitchell, Gloria Forrest, Mary Ann Forrest, and Randy Forrest; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. WRIGHT, SR., Willie
WALTERBORO - Willie A. Wright, Sr., 58, a long shoreman with Delaware Water Front Port, died September 28, 2001 in Wilmington, Delaware.
The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday (today), October 6, 2001, in Ebenezer C.M.E. Church, White Hall Community, Yemassee. Burial will be in Heyward cemetery.
Mr. Wright was born in White Hall and was the son of Rev. Cleveland Wright and Lovie Barnett Wright. He attended the public schools in Colleton County and was a member of Ebenezer C.M.E. Church.
Surviving are his parents of White Hall; two sons, Willie Wright, Jr., Newark, Del. and Cleve Wright, Wilmington, Del.; two daughters, Lakisha Brady Robinson, New Castle, Del., and Maria Ushery, Wilmington, Del.; five brothers, Herman L. Wright, Solomon Wright, Edgar Wright, Cleveland Wright, Jr. and Jake Wright, all of White Hall; two sisters, Shirley Wright, White Hall and Deloris Wright, Wilmington, Del. and six grandchildren.

LYNCH, JR., John
MANNING - Mr. John Earl Lynch, Jr., 65, died Friday, October 5, 2001, at a local hospital after an illness.
Mr. Lynch was born in Florence County, a son of the late John Earl and Eunice McGee Lynch. He was a retired plumber and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Kirby of Lake City, Earline Jordan of Sumter and Eunice Marie Razor of Summerville; one son, Patrick Michael Lynch of Summerville; three brothers, Lee R. Lynch, Sr. of Manning, John L. Lynch, Sr. of Moncks Corner and James B. Lynch of Summerville; one sister, Pat Kelly of Sumter; several grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joyce Carter of Manning.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2001, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel, Lake City, with burial in the Camp Branch Free Will Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will have visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday evening in the funeral home and at other times at the home of his brother, Lee R. Lynch, Sr., 8210 Moses Dingle Road (Jordan Crossroads), Manning, SC.

GASQUE, Mary
LATTA, SC - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Benton Gasque, 84, of Latta died on Friday, October 5, 2001 at a local medical center.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at Latta United Methodist Church with burial at Magnolia cemetery in Latta. Kannaday's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kannaday's Funeral Home in Latta.
Mrs. Gasque was born on November 16, 1916 in Puyallup, Washington to Edgar Augustus Benton and Blanche Altamae Peacock Benton and was reared in Hanson, Mass. Mrs. Gasque was a graduate of Whitman High School and Brockton Business College. She was a secretary for the federal government in Washington, DC at the Italian Division of the Office of Secret Service. Mrs. Gasque was a member of the Latta United Methodist Church and a member of the Josephine Stackhouse Circle. She was married
to Samuel Norwood Gasque, Sr. for 60 years.
She is survived by her husband, Judge (Ret) Samuel Norwood Gasque, Sr., of the home; sons, Samuel Norwood (Marilyn) Gasque, Jr. of Flat Rock, NC, and Paul Edgar (Laura) Gasque of Latta; daughters, Judith Anne Gasque Moody of Florence and Nancy Ruth Gasque (Buzzy) Finklea of Latta; a sister, Glenna Ruth Oksanen of Halifax, Mass; grandchildren, Jesse James (Jennifer) Brigman, III, Nancy Elizabeth "Betsy" Finklea, Belva Jenkinson (Andy) Britt, Tracy Fore Finklea, Paul Conan Gasque, Lauren Elizabeth Gasque, all of Latta; and great-granddaughter, Savannah Victoria Britt of Latta. She was predeceased by a son, James Robert Gasque.

MULLINS, SC - Mrs. Jeanette Hardwick Ross, 61, wife of William "Bill" Ross, died Friday, October 5, 2001 at a local medical center after an illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, with Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow at Red Hill Memorial Gardens cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ross was born February 3, 1940 in Horry County, a daughter of Mazie Gerald Hardwick and the late Walter Hardwick. Mrs. Ross was an administrative assistant with Anvil Knitwear. She was a graduate of Floyds High School and Columbia Business College. Mrs. Ross was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Ross are her husband, William "Bill" Ross of the home; her mother, Mazie Gerald Hardwick of Nichols; 2 sisters, Doris Miller of Lancaster and Barbara Elliott of Camden; a brother, Harold Hardwick of Charleston; 6 nieces and nephews; and 12 great nieces and great nephews.

COOPER, Mary
ANDREWS - Mary Faye Clemons Cooper, 76, died Thursday, October 4, 2001, at her residence.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Andrews on April 27, 1925, a daughter of the late Robert Bissell Clemons and Annie Louise Smith Clemons. She graduated from Andrews High School and lived in Andrews all of her life. Mrs. Cooper was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Anna-Hannah Circle of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her husband, Spivey C. Cooper of Andrews; two daughters, Pamela C. Brett and Deborah C. Watford both of Andrews; two brothers, F. Ervin Clemons and Robert B. Clemons, Jr. both of Andrews; three sisters, Suzy C. Gilmer of Pawley's Island and Roberta C. Tisdale and Emma C. Davis, both of Andrews; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooper was predeceased by a son, Gregory S. Cooper.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning, October 6, 2001, at 11:00 o'clock in Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Steven M. Todd, the Rev. Paul Miles, and the Rev. Billy Rufus. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial cemetery under the direction of the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
