NIX, Jacqueline
CORDOVA - Jacqueline Googe Nix, 59, of Box 335 in Cordova, died Thursday evening in an Orangeburg medical center. Ms. Nix was born in Allendale, January 10, 1942, a daughter of the late Horace Googe Sr., and Ruby Katherine Kling Googe. She was formerly employed as a caregiver with Carrig Manor in Bamberg and was a member of Mt. Arnon Baptist Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Cathy Varn and Penny Cochran, both of Orangeburg; 1 brother, Horace Eugene Googe, of Seigling; 3 sisters, Peggy Litchfield of Bonneau, Dorothy Holland of Seigling and Phyllis Googe of Seigling. There are 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Bloodworth.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in the Chapel of Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Mt. Arnon cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. SMITH-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME of Allendale is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rennie Lee Daniels, 80, died Monday, October 1, 2001 in Beaufort, SC. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday October 6, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Rock of Ages CME Church in Walterboro, SC. Burial directed by MAREE TRACY FUNERAL HOME will be in Old Miss cemetery in Springtown.
HODGES, William
William Benjamin Hodges, 79, of Goose Creek, a retired supervisor in the packaging and crating department at the Charleston Air Force Base, died Thursday in a Summerville hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
born in Miller County, GA, he was the son of James Kenneth Hodges and Evie H. Hodges. Mr. Hodges was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Harbour Lake Baptist Church. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Mae Weeks Hodges.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Ann Hodges Cobb of Goose Creek and Lisha Hendricks of Summerville; a brother, Roy Hodges of Donaldson, GA; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

BUICE, Verdelle
SWANNANOA - Verdelle Lester Buice, 85, of Swannanoa died Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at an Asheville, N.C., hospital following a period of declining health.
A native of Augusta, Ga., he had resided in Bamberg, S.C., for most of his life prior to moving to Asheville, N.C., in June of 1992.
Mr. Buice retired in 1966 from Dupont after many years of service and was a professional barber. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where he was a member of the Clyde Freeman Sunday School Class and a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W.II. He was an avid golfer and a past member of the Buncombe County Golf Course.
He was a son of the late Thomas L. and Maggie Mae Johnson Buice, and the husband of 55 years to Patsy Pearle Buice who died in 1992.
Surviving are sons, Bud Buice and wife, Karel of Swannanoa, and Robert Buice and wife, Annette of Georgetown, S.C.; daughter, Heather Richter and husband, Dennis, of Trego, Wisc.; brother, James Buice and wife, Ruby of Williston, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Alice Wood of Goose Creek, S.C., and Helga Black of Valdosta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Carson Moseley, Mr. Raymond Tweed, and Mr. Calvin Patterson officiating.
A second visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, at COONER FUNERAL HOME, in Bamberg, S.C.
Masonic graveside rites will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, at South End cemetery in Bamberg by the Oman Masonic Lodge #38, of which he was a member for 55 years. This will be officiated by Rev. James Powers.

Mrs. Watson is survived by a brother, William McComb of N. Charleston; two sisters, Juanita McComb Fell of Goose Creek and Helen McComb Trainer of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
