Russ, Sr., died Friday, October 5, 2001. born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late George Q. and Victoria Gardner Blackwell. She was retired from Russ's Grocery and Drive-In and also Wateree Textiles. Mrs. Russ was a member of Rowan Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.Surviving are, three daughters, Kay Jackson of Lugoff, Faye Kirkbridge of Columbia, Vickie Turner of North Charleston; one son, Dennis Russ of Lugoff; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was the treasurer of Colleton County, and worked for the county for more than 20 years, serving as Deputy Treasurer prior to being elected to her current office. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Walterboro, where she was a member and treasurer of the Willing Worker Sunday School Class. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Walterboro Chapter #147, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Milcah Temple #77, Daughters of the Nile. She was a member and treasurer of the South Carolina Elected Officials Association, a member of the South Carolina Association of Accessing Officials, a member of the Colleton County Taxpayers Association, member of South Carolina State Employees Association, and a Commissioner with Lowcountry Regional Airport.Surviving are, her husband, George H. Pierce; her sons, C. Rodger Pierce, Sr., and his wife, Valerie of Greenville, and Michael Pierce and his wife Cynthia of Walterboro; her grandchildren, Leigh Cook and her husband Scott, Charles R. Peter J. Theos, 71, of Charleston, a retired Charleston Naval Shipyard Supply Officer, died Saturday, October 6, 2001 at a local hospital. Mr. Theos was born October 19, 1929, in Charleston, a son of Maki Galiatsatou Theos and Jerry Theos. He attended Bennett School and graduated from The High School of Charleston. He was a member of the Army National Guard and was active in the Footlight Flayers, the Dockstreet Theater, the American Ballet and Traynor Ferillo's Passion Plays. Mr. Theos was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. He is survived by two brothers: Nicholas J. Theos of Charleston and Chris J. Theos of Ormond Beach, FL; two nieces, Fay Theos of Charlotte, NC and Chrissy Theos Bramblett of Atlanta, GA; two nephews, Jerry N. Theos and Paul N.
