WEATHERS, William
ST. GEORGE, S.C. - Cliff Weathers, 93, of 116 Minus St. died at his home Sunday morning after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. George United Methodist Church with Rev. Wash Belangia officiating. Burial will follow at the Duncan Chapel cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home.
Mr. Weathers was born May 23, 1908 in the Duncan Chapel community a son of the late Julius Albert Weathers and Minnie Elizabeth Shuler Weathers. Mr. Weathers was a manager of the Firestone store, a retired salesman at Sojourner Chevrolet Company and a Farmer. Mr. Weathers was a member of the St. George United Methodist Church where he was a Stewart Emeritus and an active member of Men's Bible class. He was a former Dorchester County Council member, St. George Town council, Mayor Pro-Tem, and a Woodman of the World. Mr. Weathers was pre-deceased by his wife Inez Bardin Weathers.
Surviving are, one son, William Albert "Bert" Weathers, Athens, TN; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Jennifer) Williams, Walterboro, S.C.; four grandchildren, Joseph Bertman "Bud" Williams, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Landis Inez Williams, Walterboro, S.C., Louie Clifton "Luke" Weathers, Athens TN., Carey Lonita Weathers, Gastonia, N.C.; three step-grandchildren, Jeremey Good, Natalie Good, both of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Chesley Good, Columbia, S.C.

HILBOURN, Jack
Mr. Jack Aurdey Hilbourn, age 67, of the West Ashley community died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at his home following an illness. born February 3, 1934, in Loris, S.C., Mr. Hilbourn was the son of the late James Walter Hilbourn, Sr., and the late Bessie McKenzie Hilbourn. Mr. Hilbourn was retired from the Civil Service as a pipe fitter with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia, and a member of the Victory Assembly in Poquoson, Va.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Cannon Hilbourn of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Vicki Alsbrook and her husband, Joe, of Charleston, S.C., and Dorothy Lee Hall and her husband, Tim, of Newport News, Va.; three brothers, Earl Hilbourn of York, S.C., Roy Hilbourn of Loris, S.C., and Joyce "Monty" Hilbourn of La Grange, N.C.; three sisters, Ollie Bessant of Conway, S.C., Elaine Varnadoe of Hanahan, S.C., and Loraine Hilbourn of Creekwood, S.C.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Hilbourn was predeceased by one son, Jimmy Dale Hilbourn.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at 2 p.m., from the Hardwick Memorial Chapel with burial in Patterson cemetery. CHERAW, S.C. - Roy H. Lowrimore, Sr., 92, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at a Cheraw, S.C., hospital. born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Calvin and Barzilla Sing Lowrimore. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, having served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Lowrimore was a W.W.II Army veteran.
Survivors are, wife of 73 years, Lillie Maude Hopkins Lowrimore, Cheraw, S.C.; son, Roy Lowrimore, Jr., Hickory, N.C.; daughter, Norma L. Lundy, Darlington, S.C.; daughter, Artha L. Sompayrac, Hanahan, S.C.; sister, Mary Chavis, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by grandson, Michael Sompayrac, four brothers, and six sisters.

MAHONEY, Elizabeth
Elizabeth DuBose Porcher Mahoney, 93, artist and musician, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at a hospital in Charleston. born April 30, 1908, in Porcher's Bluff, S.C., she was the youngest child of Philip Gendron Porcher and Mary Frances Porcher (nee Cords). She attended the College of Charleston and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation she taught in the Aiken and Columbia school system. She became the Curator of Education at the Charleston Museum. During WWII, she was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and other war efforts. She married
her husband, J.J. Mahoney, in 1949, and together they created a successful automatic vending machine business operating in several states. Her husband J.J., many nieces and nephews survive her. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday with visitation until 8:00 p.m. at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1520 Rifle Range Road. A Requiem Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Stella Maris Catholic Church, Sullivan's Island. A reception will be held at the family's home following the service.
