REYNOLDS, Edith
MANNING - Mrs. Edith W. Reynolds, widow of Preston Reynolds, 83, died Monday in a Manning hospital. Mrs. Reynolds was born in Mississippi, a daughter of Annie Manning and William Walker. She attended school in Mississippi and was a home nurse for many years. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of Lane Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Copeland of Braxton, MS, Elsie Grace Walter (Skippy) of Manning; one son, Corbit Reynolds of Mill Springs, NC; one sister, Merle Williams of Terry, Mississippi; two grandchildren, P.J. Tobias of Manning and Donyele Gamble of Greeleyville; one great-grandchild, Briyele Gamble.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors Thursday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. The family asks that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Coastal Carolina Chapter, P.O. Nicholas Grayson Rafferty, our beautiful son and grandson, passed away on September 28, 2001.
Nicholas was born September 23, 2001 in Layton, Utah. His loving parents Robert W. and Catherine M. Rafferty of Roy, Utah; maternal grandparents, William and Elizabeth Lovecchio of Columbia, SC., and paternal grandparents, Robert W. and Elaine Rafferty of Summerville, SC survived him.
The parents have requested donations be made to Primary Children's Medical Center, 100 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake, Utah 84113, attn: Foundations in memory of Nicholas Grayson Rafferty.
A funeral service was held October 1, 2001 at Myers Mortuary, Roy, Utah.

Evelyn Grayson Goodman, 88, of South Carolina Episcopal Home at Still Hopes, West Columbia, formerly of Hollywood, SC, widow of Edwin M. "Eddie" Goodman Sr. died Monday in a West Columbia hospital.
Funeral Service will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock in Calvary Baptist Church, Meggett, S.C. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Church cemetery, Hollywood, S.C.

born on August 7, 1913, in Colleton County, a daughter of the late W. Francis Grayson and Sarah Martin "Sallie" Grayson. She was a 1934 graduate of Winthrop University. She was a Retired School Teacher. She was Past President of St. Paul's Exchange Club Auxiliary, Past Worthy Matron of Carolina Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, Meggett, SC, Past Member of St. Paul's Garden Club, Past President of WMU and was a Sunday School Teacher at Calvary Baptist Church.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Meggett, SC since 1926.
Surviving are, four sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin M. "Eddie" and Joyce Goodman, Jr., of Wingate, N.C., Grayson A. and Jan Goodman of Spartanburg, Joe F. and Elizabeth Goodman of Charlotte, NC, Gary L. and Brenda Goodman of Columbia; six grandsons, Edwin Mack "Mackey" and Belinda Goodman, III, of Wingate, NC, Todd Adam Goodman of Columbia, Donald Goodman of Wingate, NC, Michael Goodman of Charlotte, NC, Grayson Goodman of Charleston, Matthew Goodman of Spartanburg; one granddaughter, Frances "Fran" Evelyn Goodman of Charleston; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Zachary Goodman; step-grandchildren, Jeff Slate of Jacksonville, Fl, Rich Slate of Ft. Christopher Johns Lyon, husband of Lessie Catherine Kemp "Kitty" Lyon, died September 28, 2001 in Princess Grace Hospital in Montecarlo, Monaco. He was 53.
Mr. Lyon was born in Johannesburg, South Africa May 8, 1948, a son of Hazel Margaret Bilton Lyon, Farrell and the late George Ray Lyon. He was a global entrepreneur, and a member of the Christadelphian Church.
Surviving, besides his wife of Estill, and his mother are: 1 son: Christopher Johns Lyon Jr., of Estill. 1 daughter: Angela Rae Lyon, of Estill. 1 brother: Jonathan Bilton Lyon, of Southhampton, England, and 1 sister: Carol Anne Lonson, of Santa Barbara, CA. step-father: Harry William Farrell, of Santa Barbara, CA.

Pinewood, S.C. - Jeffery Dean Hall, 42, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at the Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.
born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Evey Kenneth Hall and the late Lois McIntosh Hall.
Mr. Hall was employed by the Pinewood Fire Department for 28 years. He was currently employed by Pack Enterprises. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are two brothers, Edwin Kenneth Hall of Buchanan, Michigan and Kirk McLain Hall of Sumter; three sisters, Donna K. Hall of Pinewood, Lois Charlene Mason of Covington, Kentucky and Margaret Kelli Tennant of Oviedo, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Saturday in the Chapel of the ELMORE-HILL-McCREIGHT FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bennie Barwick and Rev. Gene Franklin officiating.
Burial will be in Brewington cemetery.

WALTERBORO - Mrs. Marilyn Farrell Johnson, 60, of 205 Hill Street, died Wednesday at a local Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Bedon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Jacksonville, FL, a daughter of the late Charles Farrell and Virginia Farrell Corn. She was the co-owner of Cut' N Style Beauty Salon and was a member of Bedon Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Wilbur I. Johnson, a daughter, Aimee Johnson of Walterboro, two sons, Kenny Johnson of Walterboro and his wife, Susan and Todd Johnson of Summerville, two grandchildren, Nicole Johnson and Courtney Johnson, a great grandchild, Amber Cromer and a brother, Ronald Bushman of Cassadaga, NY. She was predeceased by three grandchildren, Brett Strickland, Hunter Strickland and Caroline Manchester.

CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. D.R. Mauney, Jr., age 87, of 301 Old Post Road, Cherryville, N.C., died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at a Charleston hospital. She was a native of Hickory, N.C., daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitfield Bagby. Retired from the Gaston County Schools System, she was head of the Cherryville Guidance Department. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, David Rudisill Mauney, Jr., a sister, Mrs. Frankie Bagby Setzer of Shelby, N.C., a brother, Charles A. Bagby, of Hickory, N.C.
She carved out a life of exemplary service to her home, community, church and employment, member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cherryville, N.C., 50 years service to Pioneer Council, Troop Leader and Senior Leader of Girl's and Brownie Scouts, NCEA, graduated from Hickory's Claremont Central High, Lenoir Rhyne College, Cum Laude, Appalachian State University, graduate school, Gaston College, real estate, member of N.C. Association of Realtors, public school teacher, Sunday School teacher. Despite her strong interest and participation in community endeavors and her professional achievements, Mrs. Mauney saw herself first as a wife and mother, listing those jobs as her chief occupation.
Survivors are, four daughters, Mrs. Troy (Martha) Moses, of Dalton, Ga., Caroline Mauney, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Mrs. Ronald (Anna Cathanie) Spence, Virginia Beach, Va., Mrs. John (Harriet) Condray, Jr., Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, David Phillips, Kay Phillips, Lura and Rodney Cummings, all of Dalton, Ga., Carson Spence, of Virginia Beach, Va., great-grandchildren, David Luke Phillips and Ian Thomas Cummings, both of Dalton, Ga.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2001, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cherryville, with Rev. Luther Roof and Rev. Harold K. Skinner officiating. Burial will be in the Mauney Family Plot of the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, Saturday, October 13, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
