WEST, Elene
Elene Parker West, 68, of North Charleston, died Thursday at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in Carolina Memorial Gardens. born in Cherryville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Walter L. Parker and Nettie Craig Parker. Mrs. West was a Charleston County school guard. She was a member of Pittman Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William M. West, Jr.; a daughter, Alita W. Adams of Fairfax, Virginia; a son, William M. "Chuck" West, III of Goose Creek; a sister, Katie P. Newton of Burlington, NC; grandchildren, Jason Burton, Nick Adams, Kasey West and Chase West.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Pittman Street Baptist Church. Arrangements by CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC.

Entered into eternal rest on October 10, 2001, Ms. Shirley Ann Manigault, of 1603 Boston Grill Rd., Mt. Pleasant, SC. The relatives and friends of Ms. Shirley Ann Manigault and those of her parents Mr. Isaac and Mrs. Louise M. Manigault; sisters, Diana Jefferson (Edward), Cheryl Lawrence (Louis), Nina Hamilton (Dwayne); brothers, Joseph Baliem (Sheila), and Isaac Craven Manigault (Hillary); aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews are invited to attend her funeral services on Saturday, October 13, 2001, 1:00 p.m. in Greater Olive Branch A.M.E. Church, 1734 Hwy. 17 North, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Viewing for Ms. Manigault this afternoon at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. Remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until hour of service. Mr. Bello was born in Charleston, SC, the son of Jack Michael Bello and Ann M. Bello. He was a construction worker. He was a member of West Shore Episcopal Church. He graduated from SC Opportunity school.
Surviving are his parents of Charleston, SC; aunts and uncles, N. Edward Bello and Judy, Elizabeth "Betty" and Tony Agresta, Mary Ellen Safon, Douglas and Helen Meares, Billy and Geneva Meares. Mr. Bello was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Michael Bello, Jr. and Robert Wayne Bello.

HANAHAN, John
John "Jack" Hanahan died on Monday, October 8, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He was born August 5, 1924 at Mercy Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina to John and Hardin Davant Hanahan. Mr. Hanahan graduated from St. Andrews School in Middletown, Delaware and received his BS and MA in education from the University of Tennessee.
Mr. Hanahan taught geology, Spanish, geography, and coached the golf and tennis teams at Belmont Abbey College for many years. For the last 14 years, he was an active member of the Institutional Advancement team at the College. He was preparing to celebrate his 50th anniversary with Belmont Abbey this week.
He is well known for his professional contributions: as curator to the National Science Museum in Charleston.
Surviving are his sister Mary Hanahan, sister-in-law Marguerite Hanahan, niece, Ruth Ann Hanahan & nephew Thomas D. Hanahan, Jr., great-nephew John Davant Hanahan, all of Knoxville, Tennessee, along with 12 godchildren & numerous cousins.
Memorials may be sent to Belmont Abbey College, N.C. 28012-1802

GOOSE CREEK LODGE NO. 401, A.F.M.: A SPECIAL COMMUNICATION will be held at the Masonic Temple, this Sunday evening, October 14, 2001 at 6:00 o'clock for the purpose of paying the last tribute of respect to our late brother, Kevin Richard McIntire, Masonic services will be held at the American Legion, Post #166, Goose Creek, South Carolina this Sunday evening at 7:00 o'clock.

PINCKNEY, Mable
WALTERBORO - Mable Tracy Maloney Hayes Pinckney, 99, died October 6, 2001 in a St. George Health Care Center.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2001 in Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Walterboro. Burial will be in Varn cemetery in Islandton.
Mrs. Pinckney, daughter of the late William Maloney and Alice Tracy Maloney, was born April 15, 1902 in Colleton County. She received her early education in the public schools of Colleton County. She furthered her education in nursing in Charleston and received her license in 1948. She attended Saint Mary Catholic Church in Charleston.
Surviving are a son, Leroy Hayes, Jr. of Smoaks; a daughter, Jennilee Battle (Joe) of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Edith Chess and Gertrude Aiken both of Ruffin, a brother, John Rupert Maloney of Walterboro; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
