He is survived by his wife, Minnetta Covert Thompson; his son, Paul D. Thompson of Mt. Pleasant; his brother and sister-in-law, George E. and Rebecca Thompson of Hurst, Texas; and his sisters and brother-in-law, Ann and William L. Ahls of Marietta, Ga.

DANGERFIELD, Lillie
Lillie Wenningham Dangerfield, 92, of Moncks Corner, SC, a former lunchroom attendant for the Berkeley County School System, died Tuesday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Friday in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Intermen will be in the Church cemetery. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM this Thursday evening.
Mrs. Dangerfield was born Sept. 15, 1909, in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of James Waring Wenningham and Ada Jackson Wenningham. She was the widow of Neal Dangerfield. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald Lewis Thrush, II.
Surviving are, one son, Kenneth Dangerfield of Moncks Corner, one daughter, Helen Michaels of Charleston, and two grandchildren, Rande Craig Thrush and Harold Reid Thrush, and one great grandchild, Adam Neal Thrush.

Kate Mims Barry, 91, of St. Stephen, SC, died Tuesday at her residence.

Mrs. Barry was born September 23, 1910, in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of James W. Mims and Hattie Ballentine Mims. She along with her husband owned and operated Barry's Department Store in St. Stephen. She is the widow of James J. Barry, Sr. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Bonneau. She attended Winthrop College. She was preceded in death by a sister, Zeda Mims Morgan, and a brother, Dr. J. Lloyd Mims.
Surviving are, one daughter, Kay B. Veach of Goose Creek, one son, James J. Barry, Jr., of Pinopolis; one brother, Dr. Harry W. Mims of Charleston; four grandchildren, Katherine Barry, Charlotte Barry, Jamie Barry, and Hank Veach; and her caregivers, LaQuetta White, Rachel Brown, Louise Dingle, and Leola Haigler.
KINARD, Frances
Frances Thomas Kinard, 73, of Macedonia, SC, a retired production worker for C.R. Bard, died Monday in a North Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Providence Baptist Church, Macedonia. Interment will be in Berea United Methodist Church cemetery, Bethera. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, until 12:00 Noon and then at the Church from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Kinard was born August 2, 1928, in Macedonia, SC, a daughter of Beaufort L. Thomas and Janie Dupree Thomas. She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church.
Surviving are, her husband, Lewis C. Kinard, Sr; one daughter, Bertie K. Yohe of Moncks Corner; four sons, Louis C. Kinard, Jr., of Coward, Terry Kinard of Beaver Dam, Jimmy Kinard of Bonneau, and Tony Kinard of Macedonia; four sisters, Nell Gregory of Macedonia, Della Spalviero of James Island, Ella Mae Kirkland of Russellville, and Geraldine Taylor of Moncks Corner; three brothers, Rouse Thomas and Beaufort L. Thomas, Jr., both of Macedonia, and Jerry Thomas of Kingstree, and ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

RIDGELAND, S.C. - Sadie E. Sauls Whitman, 66, of Ridgeland, S.C., wife of George R. Whitman, Sr., died Thursday, October 18, 2001, in a Beaufort hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Whitman was born March 13, 1935, in Tillman, S.C., daughter of the late Clayton Sauls and the late Flora Long Sauls. She was a homemaker and a member of Coosawhatchie Baptist Church.
