LANE, S.C. - Dewey Geddings, 82, died Wednesday at his residence.
Mr. Geddings was born in Sumter County, a son of the late William C. Geddings and Mrs. Dora Christmas Geddings. He attended Paxville and Lane schools and was a retired farmer and merchant. Mr. Geddings was an Army veteran of W.W.II and a member of Lane United Methodist Church.
Surviving are, his wife, Mrs. Mary Cooper Geddings of Lane; three daughters, Maxine Ranta of Federal Way, Wash., Gail Haddock of Kingstree, and Carol Newton of Andrews; one brother, Ernest Geddings of Charleston; two sisters, Frances McCutchen and Elizabeth Dennis, both of Columbia; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, in Lane United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Union Presbyterian cemetery, directed by WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lane United Methodist Church.

The relatives and friends of Mr. William Robinson, Sr., and those of his wife, Mrs. Edith H. Robinson, daughters, Pearl Wilkins, Margie Brightman, Annette Robinson, Sharon Holbert and Esther Freeman (George), sons, David Miller (Mary), Augusta Robinson, (Kay), Eugene Robinson, Prince Robinson and Julius Robinson, grands, great-grands, sisters, Mamie Anderson and Emily "Addie" Frasier (Herbert), aunt, Mrs. Fannie Moore, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services, Saturday, October 20, 2001, 2 p.m., at New Jerusalem AME Church, 6179 Bears Bluff Road, Wadmalaw Island, S.C. Interment, Church cemetery. Rev. Lawrence Gordon, officiating. Remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. The relatives and friends of Chief Petty Officer Norman Kenneth Howell, widower of Dorothy Mae Speaks Howell, are invited to attend his Memorial Services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL, this (Friday) morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be at a later time. The family will be receiving friends after the memorial service at the American Legion Post 166, 116 Howe Hall Road, Goose Creek, S.C. She is the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Richard Nesbitt and Mr. and Mrs. Lucius and Inez Hamilton. She is the loving mother of Ms. Althea V. Hamilton (Andrew), Mr. James Gethers (Felicia), and Miss Tanginica Gethers. She is the grandmother of Leondra, Luricus, James, Tresvon, and Semahj. She is the devoted companion of Mr. Vernon Drayton.

FLETCHER, Louisa
Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of October 17, 2001, Louisa T. Fletcher, widow of John DuPre Fletcher, Sr. Residence, Charleston, S.C. All services will be private.
Mrs. Fletcher was born in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of Henry Merrick Tovey and Annie Renneker Tovey. She was an Episcopalian.
Surviving are, a daughter, Marion McKinney of Charleston, S.C.; two sons, John D. Fletcher, Jr., and Richard T. Fletcher, both of Charleston, S.C.; a brother, Robert Samuel Tovey of Atlanta, Ga. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

ROSS, Lorraine Beatrice
Lorraine Beatrice Ross, 57, of Summerville, SC died October 14, 2001 at her residence. Memorial services will be held at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday afternoon, October 21, 2001 at 2:00 o'clock. Entombment will be in Summerville (Parks) cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3896 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405-7443. Mrs. Ross was born October 5, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Karl Axtman and the late Lucinda M. Barrow Axtman. She was a retired psychiatric aide with the State of Maine Department of Mental Health. Survivors include three daughters, Michelle Ross and Melinda Houston, both of Summerville, SC and Virginia Catruch of Naples, Maine; three sons, Karl Ross, Glynn Ross and Daniel Ross of Bridgeton, Maine. BEAZER, Daisy
Daisy Goff Crosby Beazer, 75, widower of Ulysses Crosby and Montique Beazer, died October 16, 2001 in New York.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 20, 2001, in Sykes Savannah United Methodist Church in Ruffin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Beazer, a daughter of the late Viola Goff Lingard was born in Colleton County. She received her early education in the public schools of Colleton County and was a member of Sykes Savannah United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: two sons, Clinton Crosby (Alice), Williams, S.C. and Jerry Beazer, New York; two daughters, Lillie Mae Felder, Walterboro and Pamela Beazer, New York; one uncle, Rev. Mack Goff, Ruffin and two aunts, Ethel Sharpe and Ruthie Aiken, both of Ruffin, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
