O'QUINN, Herbert
Mr. Herbert Hoover O'Quinn, formerly of Walterboro, died Tuesday, October 9 in Orlando, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 27 in Doctor's Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro with Dr. W. Steven Brown officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. O'Quinn was born in Colleton County, a son of the late John Gary O'Quinn and Lillian Fender O'Quinn. He was a retired Postal Clerk and retired after 20 years as a Tech Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, having served in vietnam. He was a member of Doctor's Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ingeburg O'Quinn of Orlando, Florida, a step son and his wife, James and Iris McGruddy of Clermont, Florida, a brother and sister in law, Vernon and Hazel O'Quinn of Walterboro, a sister Ena O. Reed of Walterboro, a sister and brother in law, Doris O. and J.W. Crider, Sr. of Bamberg, and a sister in law, Rachel O'Quinn of Edisto Island. He was predeceased by a sister, Willie Mae Smoak and by a brother, John Quillie O'Quinn.

McMASTERS, Joseph
Joseph Anthony McMasters, 64, died Saturday, October 20, 2001, at his residence on the Isle of Palms. born in Boston, Mass., he was the son of John D. McMasters and Mary Mooney McMasters. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School of Boston, Mass. He was a member of the United States Guard Auxiliary for many years and the United States Marine Corps. Reserve, and a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, S.C. He was retired from Charleston County Schools Maintenance Department. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and model airplanes. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Ann Babb McMasters. Mr. McMasters is survived by his daughter, Jodi Ann McMasters of Charleston, S.C., formerly of Boston, Mass., one brother, Raymond McMasters, of Boston, Mass., two sisters, Margaret Doyle of Fairfield, Conn., and Dorothy Power of Ladylake, Fla., many nieces and nephews and special friends, Marilyn Taylor and William C. Taylor of Isle of Palms, S.C. Memorial Services for Mr. McMasters will be Thursday, October 25, 2001, at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Drive, Mt. ELLINGTON, Bill
Mr. Bill Ellington, 71 of Charleston, SC died Friday, September 7, 2001, at KBR Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born October 9, 1929, in Pittsboro, NC to Edgar Worth Ellington and Ethel Wright Ellington. Mr. Ellington graduated from the High School of Charleston in 1949 and attended The Citadel. He served in the Korean War as and was a member of the Mark W. Clark American Legion Post #10. He was a member of the Col. Lewis Sunday School Class at Bethel United Methodist Church. He retired after many years in the electrical supply business. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilmore Wright Ellington. He is survived by his brother Edgar Worth Ellington of Kingsport, TN, twin brother James Roland Ellington of Vacaville, CA and his sister Mary Ethel Tatum of Winston-Salem, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service and burial was held on September 12 at Brown's Chapel Methodist Church in Pittsboro, NC. A memorial service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church in Charleston, SC on October 25 at 3:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3896 Leeds Ave., N. WILSON, Julia
Julia Homer Wilson, a highly respected, award-winning artist, died October 6, in Yuba City, Calif. Miss Wilson was born in Griffin, Ga., in 1910, the daughter of Mary Virginia Pritchard Wilson and Seth Homer Wilson. Miss Wilson spent her early years in Griffin, moving with her mother to Charleston, S.C., in the forties after the death of her father. Miss Wilson was known for her outstanding pencil drawings of many of the old homes in Charleston, originals and prints of which continue to sell in selected shops throughout the South.
Miss Wilson attended the Cochran School of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Slade School of Art in London, and she studied under Oskar Kokoschka in Austria and Robert Brackman in Connecticut. In the early 70s she worked in Zaire as a volunteer assistant to Dr. Birch Rambo at his medical mission.
Miss Wilson spent the later years of her life in California near her niece, Mary Virginia McAfee and her nephew, William Bruce Matthews, who survive her.
A simple graveside service will be held at the Oak Hill cemetery in Griffin on November 5.

Mr. Floyd died Tuesday, October 23, 2001. He was married
for 58 years to the late Myrtis Hutto Floyd of Blackville. born in Conway, SC, he was a son of the late William Harvey and Flora B. Richardson Floyd, Sr. He enjoyed a more than 30 year career in the furniture industry with Maxwell Brothers Stores and Heilig-Meyers. He was a member and deacon at Ravenwood Baptist Church and was an accomplished craftsman and woodworker.
Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony R. and Jacquelyn Hoffman Floyd, Jr. of Hartsville, SC; J. Daniel Floyd of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brothers, Rev. Herbert Floyd and Rev. Hubert Floyd; sisters, Bernice Floyd Darnell and Margaret Floyd Thomas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Rev. William Harvey Floyd, Jr.
