ST. GEORGE - Mr. David Edward "Eddie" Rickborn, 86, of 703 Sears Street, Saint George, South Carolina, died Wednesday, October 24, 2001. He was born June 22, 1915 in Badham Community of Dorchester County a son of the late Glen William Rickborn, Sr. and Hattie Hutto Rickborn. He was formerly employed with Sledge Lumber Company of Whiteville, NC, Holly Hill Lumber Company of Holly Hill, SC, and Kizer Lumber Company of Saint George, SC. After his retirement, he was employed by the Saint George Fire Department. Mr. Rickborn was a member of Old Saint George Baptist Church where he was a member of the Mens Adult Sunday School Class. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 27, 2001 at Old Saint George Baptist Church cemetery by Rev. Steve Crosby and Rev. Lloyd Brunson. He is survived by his wife, Alma Hutto Rickborn, two daughters, Betty "JJ" Rickborn Gleaton of Saint George, SC and Peggy Rickborn Peacock of Whiteville, NC; a brother, Dorsett "Buster" Rickborn of Chamblee, GA; six grandchildren, Michael Gilstrap of Columbia, SC, Kristin Gleaton, Saint George, SC, Craig Gleaton, II of Columbia, SC, Dr. Don Peacock, Jr., Craig Peacock and Kyle Peacock, all of Whiteville, NC; and two great grandchildren, Alyssa Gilstrap of Columbia, SC, and Don "Trey" Peacock, III of Whiteville, NC.

JOHNSTON, S.C. - Services for Catherine Butler McDaniel, age 75, will be held Friday, at 3 p.m., at Johnston First Baptist Church with burial at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. Mrs. McDaniel died Wednesday, October 24, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Nell Workman Butler. She retired as a bookkeeper from Lucas Refrigeration Service. She was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church, the Johnson-Holston Circle and the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Coy McDaniel; two daughters, Kathy Timmerman, Rock Hill, and Martha Jean Bartley, Ward; two sons, Mike McDaniel, Summerville, and Jimmy Walton, North Augusta; two brothers, Roy Butler, West Columbia, and Thomas Butler, Monetta; two sisters, Jo Bernice Bush, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Marsha Yonce, Statesville, N.C.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
