Mr. Shenton was born August 27, 1968, in Charleston, S.C., the son of Francis Thomas Shenton and the late Ilene Murphy Shenton. Mr. Shenton was a graduate of Goose Creek High School, Catholic and ironworker for Pioneer Construction Company.
Surviving are his father and step-mother, Claudia Shenton of Goose Creek; daughter, Amber Shenton of Texas; sister, Michelle Turgeon of Walterboro, S.C.; brothers, Randy Murphy of Elgin Air Force Base, Fla., Jerry Murphy of Newfoundland, Canada, and Thomas Shenton of Muskegon, Mich.

Mrs. Hodges, daughter of the late George and Queen Hodges, was born on May 1, 1907, in Colleton County. She received her education in the public schools of Colleton County. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Campbell, daughter of the late William and Julia Osborne McPherson, was born in December 4, 1908, in Colleton County. She received her education in the public schools of Colleton County and retired from Laurel Spring Plantation. After moving to Baltimore, Md., she attended New Carmel Star Baptist Church. She was a member of White Hall Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #132 of Walterboro.
Surviving are, a son, James Campbell (Rosalee), Jamaica, N.Y.; four daughters, Julia Brisbon (Harris), Patterson, N.J., Mamie Cousins, Baltimore, Md., Flora Wilkins (Stara), Pensacola, Fla., and Eva Woolford (Maurice), Princess Anne, Md.; two adopted children, George and Gracie Marks, Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Alice Williams, Philadelphia, Pa., and a brother, Paul McPherson (Florrie).

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Ms. Doris O. Nelson, 49, formerly of Cross, S.C., died October 22, 2001, in a Long Island hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 11 a.m., at Jerusalem United Methodist Church, Cross, S.C. Rev. Wendell Sumter will officiate. Burial in church cemetery. Mrs. Nelson, the daughter of Ethel Lee Casey Nelson and the late Benjamin F. Nelson, was born February 3, 1952, in Cross, S.C. She was a 1970 graduate of Cross High School. She graduated from Clafin College in 1974. Later, she moved to N.Y. and was employed for 28 years as a certified histologist at King County Hospital in New York.
Survivors include, one daughter, Sharodka E.T.P. Nelson, Stagger of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one son, Travis A. Nelson of Cross, S.C.; four sisters, Shirley Jefferson and Carrie Small, both of Bronx, N.Y., Jacquelyn Cunningham of Columbia, S.C., and Carolyn Nelson of Charlotte, N.C., four brothers, Benjamin Nelson, Jr., of Bronx, N.Y., Blake and Ronald Nelson, both of Cross, S.C., and Alonso Nelson of Virginia Beach; one adopted brother, Benjamin Bryant of Queens, N.Y.

Lacie B. Browder, 91, of St. Stephen, S.C., a retired farmer, died Wednesday at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Saturday morning, October 27, 2001, in the Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, Macedonia. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial cemetery, St. Stephen. Mr. Browder was born November 10, 1909, in Shulerville, S.C., a son of Wesley Browder and Virginia White Browder Shuler. He is the widower of Cathleen Driggers Browder. He served on the Berkeley County ASC for 30 years. He was formerly a member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 40 years. He was a member of Gilead Baptist Church.
Surviving are, a daughter, Shelby Browder Wadford of St. Stephen; one son, L. Emmett Browder of St. Stephen; seven sisters, Mary B. Marshall, Glennie S. Basha, and Janie S. Wiles, all of Jamestown, Marie Lewis of Macedonia, Mary B. Casselman of Bartow, Fla., BeBe B. Durden of Ashville, N.C., and Esther B. Thoams of McCleny, Fla.; two brothers, Charles W. Browder of Wachula, Fla., and Jack Browder of Tampa, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
