CANNON, Vennie
GEORGETOWN - Vennie M. Cannon, 67, widow of George E. Cannon, Sr., died Sunday, October 28, 2001 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in Graham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
She was born September 16, 1934 in Lake City, a daughter of the late Culey Shelly McCutcheon and Hattie Yarborough McCutcheon.
She attended Lakewood Baptist Church and was a member of the Violet Long Sunday School class. She was a homemaker and enjoyed painting and gardening as her hobbies.
Surviving are two sons, George E. Cannon, Jr. of Hampton and Timothy A. Cannon of Georgetown; one brother, Carvin McCutcheon of Lake City; one sister, Felicia M. Baldwin of Florence; three grandchildren, Nathan, Jeremy and Clay Cannon all of Hampton and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
HORTON, Nancy
KINGSTREE - Mrs. Nancy Harkness Horton, 80, widow of Francis H. Horton, Sr., died Sunday in Greenville. Mrs. Horton was born in Abbeville, a daughter of the late Jesse B. Harkness and Mrs. Nancy (Nannie) Gilliam Harkness. She was a graduate of Columbia College and a retired school teacher of the Kingstree public high school. Mrs. Horton was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three children: Francis H. Horton, Jr. and Edward H. Horton, both of Greenville, and Nancy Jane Horton McDaniel of Hilton Head, five grandchildren: Francis H. Horton, III and Edward Zachary Horton, both of Greenville, Dr. Samuel Redden Webster Horton of Charleston, James W. McDaniel, Jr. of Alpharetta, GA, and John Horton McDaniel of Hilton Head, five great-grandchildren, Katherine Ann Horton, Elizabeth Addison Horton, Christopher Webster Horton, Noah Kennedy Horton and Samuel Redden Webster Horton, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, with burial in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the hour of services at the church. Memorials may be made to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME is in charge.

Mrs. Auld was born in Charleston, SC, a daughter of John Massalon and Anna Buckheister Massalon. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph S. Auld, Jr. and John M. Auld, two daughters, Judith Byrd and Beth Auld, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC, seventeen grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
McCALPIN, Charles
Charles Allen McCalpin, 69, Charleston, died Sunday morning, October 28, 2001, at his home in West Ashley. The Memorial Service will be 11:30 o'clock, Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at Old Saint Andrews Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be Thursday in Michigan. Arrangements were made at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
A native of Saginaw, Mich., he was born August 17, 1932, the son of George H. and Margaret Newman McCalpin. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a graduate of the University of Michigan. Mr. McCalpin was a retired value analyst engineer with the Chrysler Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Alpers McCalpin; his sons, Mark McCalpin of Prescott, Ariz.; Donald McCalpin of Saline, Mich.; Brett McCalpin of Lapeer, Mich.; his son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Kim McCalpin of Lapeer, Mich.; and his daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Todd Walgast of Columbiaville, Mich. His step-daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Dan Dyke of Shelby Township, Mich.; Molly and Shawn Emmendorfer of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; Terrilynn and Tom Primeau of Ferndale, Mich.; and step-son and daughter-in-law, Andrew James and Connie McGlynn of Riley Township, Mich., his sister, Eleanor Lange of St. Cloud, Fla., 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Carroll Watson McDonald, 75, widower of Carol Ann M. McDonald of Charleston, S.C., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. died on Sunday, October 28, 2001, in a local nursing home. All funeral services are private. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mr. McDonald was born in Thomasville, Ala., son of Carlos and Alice Bouler McDonald.
He is Retired U.S. Navy, was a Veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He also retired from MUSC Procurement Dept.
He is survived by his son, Don McDonald and his wife, Tamara, of Charleston, S.C., six sisters, Theda Erstgard of Spencer, Mass., Anne Welsh of Elsie, Neb., Ouida McIntyre of Coffeeville, Ala., Mabel Rush of Mobil, Ala., Marlene Brock of Clanton, Ala., and Faye Stephens of Grove Hill, Ala., and one brother, Calvin McDonald of Grove Hill, Ala. Two grandchildren, Jacob Zimmerman and Rebecca Zimmerman of Charleston, S.C., and one great-grandchild, Isabel Zimmerman of Charleston, S.C.

Sarah C. O'Connor, 93, formally of Charleston died Sunday, October 28th at her residence in Lexington, SC. born in Charleston to the late W.J. and Annie Madden Belding. She was the widow of John Joseph O'Connor. Mrs. O'Connor was a graduate of the Charleston Catholic Schools. Her son, Joseph Michael O'Connor of Eliot, Maine, two daughters, Catherine O'Connor Church, and Rebecca O'Connor Looby, both of Lexington, SC., and four grandchildren, all survive Mrs. O'Connor. Graveside Services will be held 10 AM., Wednesday, October 31st in Holy Cross cemetery.
