Mary B. Riley
Mrs. Mary B. Riley, 87, wife of the late John Riley of Edgefield Road in North Augusta, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at her residence.
Her Funeral Mass and Prayer Vigil were celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, with Father Peter Clark as celebrant. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Park.
Additional survivors include three sons, Pat Riley, Johnny Riley, and Tommy Riley; one daughter, Catherine Riley; two brothers, Patsy Butts Sherlock and Matt Butts Sherlock; and one sister, Betty Ann Carroll.

Willie T. “Buddy” Robinson
Mr. Willie T. "Buddy" Robinson, 60, of Bryant Avenue in Belvedere, died Dec. 26, 2010 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 31, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reginald White officiating. Burial was in Springfield Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Robinson, a native of Edgefield County, attended Springfield Baptist Church in Edgefield. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Thomas Robinson; a daughter, Amanda (Christopher) Skinner, Greenville; three sons, Willie T. (Angela) Robinson, Jr., Augusta, Ga., Willie A. (Wendy) Robinson and Jackie Thomas, Kileen, Texas; his parents, Isaac T. and Willie M. Hillary Robinson, North Augusta; five sisters, Clementine Jennings, Barbara A. Robinson, Bernice (Carl) Houston, Mattie P. (Charles) Henderson and Robbie Franklin, North Augusta; three brothers, Jessie J. Deborah Alexander Adams
Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Alexander Adams, 44, of Mill Creek Drive in Clarks Hill, who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. Bobby Coleman officiated.
Mrs. Adams was a lifelong resident of the North Augusta area, a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church and sang with the Alexander Family Singers. She was an avid animal lover, loved her family, being a mother and had a sense of humor.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Harry Adams; three sons, Robert Wayne Humphries, Jacob Lee Humphries and David Luke Adams, all of North Augusta; a daughter, Sarah Leanne Adams, North Augusta; her parents, Charles and Myrtle Alexander, North Augusta; a brother, Dr. David Anthony Alexander, Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Karen Youngblood, Atlanta, Ga. and Tonya Anderer, Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jordan Jacob Turner, and Julianna Mary Humphries; and several nephews. Ryan Jameson Craven
Funeral services for Mr. Ryan Jameson Craven, 26, of Gregory Lake Road in North Augusta, who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, were conducted Thursday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. Dr. R. Larry Brown officiated. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Park.
Mr. Craven was a lifelong resident of North Augusta and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer, loved watching Carolina Gamecock Football, was a member of North Augusta Country Club and was a 2002 graduate of North Augusta High School. He was vice president of Craven's Auto and Truck Parts, Inc.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Susan and Pat Toohey; his father and step-mother, Ronnie and Debbie Craven, all of North Augusta; two sisters, Rhonda Craven Weathers, Appling, Ga., and Dianne Craven Kirby, Evans, Ga.: maternal grandmother, Polly Hill; aunts and uncles, Cindy and Tom Sitler, North Augusta, Donnie and Joni Craven, Trenton, and Joyce and Jack Gregory, Beech Island; and his girlfriend, Cheryl White.

Mrs. Toni Marie Gessner
Funeral services for Mrs. Toni Marie Gessner, 63, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception in Edgefield, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gessner, a native of Goshen, N.Y., died Jan. 9. She was a daughter of Paul Anthony and Margaret Burger Meore. Until she retired, Mrs. Gessner was an employee of Dollar General for 10 years and was assistant manager in Saluda. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgefield.
Survivors include her husband, Albert William Gessner; sons, Albert (Maria) of Bloomingdale, N.J.; Kenneth of Charleston; Joseph (Jenn) of Pomton Lakes, N.J.; daughters, Dorothy (John), Manasquan, N.J.; Kathryn (Scott), Charleston.; a brother, Paul Meore (Diane); grandchildren, Albert, Angella, Carter, Nolan, Mason, Jessica; nieces, Margaret (Brian) and Patricia; cousins, John Burger (Nola) Ridge Spring, Richard Burger, Batesburg, Peter Burger ( Patty), Newburgh, N.Y., Patricia Trudgeon, Taylors.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Mae Harris, of Edgefield, were held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at pleasant Lane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Melvin Searles Sr., pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include three children, Willie C. Harris, Edgefield, Robert Harris(Lillie), Trenton, and Mary Helen Washington, Aiken; a sister, Lillie Mae Felder, Johnston; a special grandchild, Teresa Williams (JC); 11 grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Roderick Julian Leonard
Mr. Roderick Julian Leonard, 61, of Macedonia Street in Edgefield, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Mr. Leonard, a native of Brevard County, Fla., was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Edgefield.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonyette Cok and Latrice Leonard of Cocoa, Fla.; two sisters, Regenia Leonard, Edgefield, and Rosa Priester, Cocoa, Fla.; four brothers, Jerome Caldwell, John Caldwell, Maurice Leonard and Richard H. Leinard III, all of Cocoa, Fla.; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Eli Frederick Long
Mr. Eli Frederick Long, 90, of North Augusta, husband of the late Mildred Long, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at Dorn VA Medical Center.
A private graveside burial was to be held at Tate cemetery in Bogota, Ill.
Mr. Long was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II and also worked as a steelworker.
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Keefe and her husband Jerry, of Edgefield; three grandchildren, Jeri Wayneen McGowan, Jerry Keefe and his wife Doris, and Michael Wade Keefe; and seven great-grandchildren

Ryan Tyler McNeal
Mr. Ryan Tyler McNeal, 23, of White Bark Avenue in North Augusta, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011.
His funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Belvedere First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Philip McNeal officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Memorial Park.
Survivors include his parents, Gary and Suzanne McNeal of North Augusta; his brother, Andrew Walton McNeal and his wife Brandy of Las Vegas, Nev.; his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Carolyn McNeal of North Augusta; and his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Jeanette Holmes of Johnston.
Ryan was an avid golfer and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. He worked at CSRA Testing as a technician.

Cayden Gregory Shaffer
Cayden Gregory Shaffer, infant son of Greg and Shannon Shaffer, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Additional survivors include three brothers, Kameron, Tyler, and Parker; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Wendi Shaffer of Edgefield; his maternal grandparents, William and Victoria Andrews of Clarks Hill, Elizabeth Barfield of Grovetown, Ga.; and his aunts, uncles and cousins.

Clinton Wyman Tyler Jr.
Mr. Clinton Wyman Tyler Jr., 75, of Edgefield, husband of Myrtle Baston Tyler, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
His funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. at Rowland Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Meador officiating. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Bruce Mayson, Tyler Mayson, Robert Harper, Cody Harper, Ronnie Reece and Jeremy Reece.
Mr. Tyler was a member of the Coastal Conservation Association of South Carolina and the Swamp & Hill Hunting Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired as a millwright machinist with Watkins Engineering and was of the Baptist faith.
Additional survivors include two sons, C. Wyman Tyler III and his wife Lisa of Martinez, Ga., and James M. Tyler Sr. and his wife Donna of Edgefield; a brother, Henry Buck Tyler and his wife Ellen of Edgefield; a sister, Sonia Tyler Harper and her husband Dick of Edgefield; and eight grandchildren, James Marshall Tyler, Jr., Jerrica Danielle Tyler, Clinton Wyman Tyler, IV, Max Ray Tyler, Zachary Austin Tyler, Samuel Lane Tyler, Vincent Matthew Tyler and Chase Gavyn Tyler.

John Evan “J.E.” Winn
John Evan “J.E.” Winn, 93, of Edgefield, husband of 63 years to Miriam Bryan Winn, died Friday at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church, with burial in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield.
Mr. Winn was a native of Edgefield County and was the son of the late William Robert Edgar and Susan Culbreath Winn. He was a graduate of Edgefield High School in 1936 and he was a self-employed lumberman and farmer. He was the oldest member of Rehoboth Church where he was a former deacon. Mr. Winn was a World War II veteran, having served in the South Pacific and was a member of the Hezzie Griffis Post # 30.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Janice Riley, Edgefield, Gaye W. (Thomas) Holmes, Johnston; three grandchildren, Neal (Becky) Riley, Bryan (Tiffany) Holmes, Matt Holmes and his fiancée Christina Kirby; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Anslee Riley; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Carolyn Bryan Blackwell; and a loyal caretaker, Barbara Washington.

Rickie G. Lawton, 63, of 2009 Airport Road, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Self Regional Medical Center. born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Betty R. Davis and John William Golden, Sr. She was a member of First Assembly of God.
