Amy Norris Truelove, 37, of 254 Driftwood Road, wife of Jim Truelove, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center. born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Jimmy Norris and Myra Blum Rhodes. Amy was a 1992 graduate of Ninety Six High School, was a former employee of Self Regional Medical Center and was a member of North Side Baptist Church. Amy loved reading, cooking, shopping, the USC Gamecocks, but most of all, her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Surviving is her husband; her son, Gavin Truelove; her father & stepmother, Jimmy & Brenda Norris of Ninety Six; her mother, Myra Rhodes of Greenwood; sisters, Heather Norris King (Brian), Taylor Rhodes, Morgan Rhodes, Hope Norris Davis (Brandon), Kayce Rhodes Morris (Tony); brother, Jamie Norris; mother-in-law, Faye McElrath (Stan); father-in-law, Jimmy Truelove (Michelle); sisters-in-law, Pam Bishop (Brad), Connie Truelove; brother-in-law, Billy McGee (Jerri Lynn); step grandmothe
Hazel Pauline Poovey Sipe
CHERAW – Hazel Pauline Poovey Sipe, 90, died Jan. 21, 2009.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Jan. 24, at First United Methodist Church, Cheraw. Visitation was held in the church immediately following the service. The family attended a interment service in Old St. David’s cemetery prior to the service in the church.
born Aug. 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Garland F. Poovey, and Pearl Hatley Poovey. She was the wife of the late Reginald Richard Sipe, Sr. She was a caring and loving person. She lived most of her life in Cheraw. Mrs. Sipe was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Cheraw.
She was predeceased by her brothers Harold and Frederick.
Surviving are her sons, Richard and Nan Sipe of Greensboro, N.C., and Nick and Lee Sipe of Columbia; six grandchildren, James, Roger, Damon, Amber, Shannon and Graham; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cleo Lowry Robinson, 90
CHESTER - The funeral for Mrs. Cleo Lowry Robinson of 1585 Carpenter Road will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31 at Uriel Presbyterian Church. The Rev. David Stover and the Rev. Barry Lambert will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Robinson, 90, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at her residence.
born in Morven, N.C. on June 26, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Lowry and Bertha Holt Lowry. A member of Uriel Presbyterian Church, where she belonged to the Women of the Church, Mrs. Robinson graduated from Morven High School and attended Coker College. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Jill Ligon of Chester and Rachel Crawford and Margaret Whitesides, both of Rock Hill; two sons, Dr. Tom Robinson of Spartanburg and Hal Robinson of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; a sister, Etta L. Eatman of Wilson, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry H. Robinson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Irene McDonald Cook
Chesterfield – Irene McDonald Cook, 61, died.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Jan. 24, 2009, at Thompson Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Roosevely and Lillian Campbell McDonald and a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church.
She was predeceased buy a daughter Carol Sue Cook.
Surviving is her husband of 46 years Joseph W. Cook of the home; a son, Joe Cook of Florence; three daughters, Sadie Cook of Cameron, N.C.; Angie Cook of Chesterfield and Teresa Poston of Ruby; five sisters, Roseann McCray of Southern Pines, N.C.; Pauline Sweatt of Lakeview; Kathleen Newman of Biscoe, N.C.; Linda Schwetchten of Hoffman, N.C. and Mary Mashburn of Cameron, N.C.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren .

Pastor Phillip Eugene Garris
WADESBORO, N.C. – Pastor Phillip Eugene Garris, 41, died Jan. 15, 2009.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Jan. 22 at Morning Star Redeem Church of God
Lilesville, N.C. Burial was held in the church cemetery.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1967, to the late Eugene “Tip” Garris and Lossie Sellers Garris.
Phillip confessed Christ at an early age and joined Bowen's Chapel Holiness Church in Wadesboro, N.C. He later became an ordained minister and joined Morning Star Redeem Church of God. He became the Assistant Pastor and served faithfully until he moved to Wimauma, Fla. and became the Pastor of First Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
Phillip served in the United States Marine Corps for three years. He then joined the United States Army where he served in Operation Desert Storm.
Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Garris; two brothers, James Garris and Leon Garris.
Surviving is his wife, Dathne Hannah Garris; a son, Phillip Garris, Jr.; a daughter, Asia-Symone Garris all of the home; his mother, Lossie Sellers Garris, Wadesboro, N.C.; two brothers, Willie Garris, Sr. (Celliar) of Charlotte, N.C. and Joseph Garris (Gwen) of St. Louis, MO; six sisters, Betty Garris and Ada Moore (Henry, Sr.) both of Wadesboro, N.C., Mary Sturdivant (Henry) of Charlotte, N.C., Charlotte Moore (Nate Sr.) of Clarksville, Tenn., Debra Garris, Lilesville, N.C. and Sylvia Cassidy of Wallace; a great aunt, Frances “Bea” Murphy; an aunt, Louise Sellers; and other relatives and friends.
William Jordon
JEFFERSON – Mr. William Jordon, 68, died Jan. 19, 2009.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Jan. 22, at New Life For Jesus Center, Jefferson. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Jan. 21, at the home.
Mr. Jordon was born Dec. 11, 1940 a son of the late Rufus and Estelle Howle Jordon. He was a retired employee of City-Wide Wrecker Service in Atlanta, Ga. In addition to his parents, William was also preceded in death by a son, William David Jordon; two brothers, Carson and James Jordon; and a sister, Evelyn Wright.
Surviving are two daughters, Lynn Jordan and Judy Reichard both of Jefferson; a sister, Mae Livergood of Jefferson; former wife, Mary Helms of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Amy Langston, Jessica Deese, Tony Locklear, Jr., Brandie Reichard and Justin Reichard; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Logan, and Kayleigh; and other relatives and friends.

Danya Roscoe Lisenby
CHESTERFIELD – Mrs. Danya Roscoe Lisenby, 47, died Jan. 26, 2009.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Jan. 28, at Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Chesterfield cemetery.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Jan. 27, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lisenby was born May 8, 1961 a daughter of Margie Perdue Brigman and the late Robert Lee Brigman. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School Class of 1979, and was a retired administrative assistant with Chesterfield County Family Court. Mrs. Lisenby was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. In addition to her father, Danya was also preceded in death by her first husband, Chris Roscoe, and by two brothers, Norman and Eddie Brigman.
Surviving is her husband, David E. Lisenby, Jr. of the home; a daughter, Krista Leigh Roscoe of Chesterfield; a stepson, Nathan Lisenby of Indian Trail, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Megan (Brandon) Ard of Cheraw and Monica Lisenby of Chesterfield; mother, Margie Brigman of Chesterfield; six brothers, David Brigman of Pageland, Beauford Brigman of Chesterfield, Robert Lee Brigman, Jr. of Ruby, Walter Brigman and Randy Brigman of Chesterfield, and Bruce Brigman of Albemarle, N.C.; three sisters, Margaret Morton and Brenda Martin of Ruby, and Betty Atkinson of Chesterfield; a step grandchild, Cameron Lisenby; and other relatives and friends.

Mescal Cassidy Bryan
WILMINGTON, N.C. – Mescal Cassidy Bryan, 95, died Jan. 19, 2009.
The family received friends from 10-11 a.m. Jan. 22, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, Wilmington, N.C. A graveside service followed at 11:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, N.C.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1913 the daughter of the late William Johnathan Layfayette Cassidy and Ida Nancy Roscoe Cassidy. Also lovingly remembered are her husband, William Jackson Bryan, Sr., four sisters, and one brother, all of whom preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bryan was a member of Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons, William Jackson Bryan, Jr. and wife, Jan of Fishersville, Va., Joe Bryan and wife, Jennifer of Knightdale, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Leigha Wood and husband, Lew, Derek Bryan and wife, Kristy, Melissa B. Rich and husband, Marshall, Tracy B. Mullis and husband, Darin, Debbie Chadburn, Sandy Frasier, Brenda Reiss, and Tammy Anyana; and fourteen great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Mac cared for and loved people. She had a passion for family, flowers, gardening, reading and cross word puzzles. Her life and engaging sense of humor positively impacted so many lives and leaves us all with a treasure trove of memories. We will miss her yet know she is in heaven with her Lord & Savior and loved ones.

Patricia Carol “Carolyn” Hogan
CHERAW – Patricia Carol “Carolyn” Hogan, 62, died Jan. 23, 2009.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Jan. 26, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Burial was held in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw.
The family received friends 5-7 p.m. Jan. 25, at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw.
She was the daughter of Lois Lee Sessoms Odom of Bennettsville and the late James Lee Odom. She was the widow of Jack S. Hogan, Sr. She was a member of the Cheraw Senior Circle, attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, and volunteered with Hospice of Chesterfield County. Mrs. Hogan was a hairdresser for over 35 years and owned and operated Clip and Curl salon since 1979. She was employed with JP Stevens Textiles for over 35 years. Mrs. Hogan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many.
Surviving are her sons, Ronnie (Wendy) C. Hogan of Statesville, N.C., Kevin (Maila) J. Hogan of San Ysidro, Ca., a daughter, Kristi (Clay) Hogan Jackson of Pageland; her mother listed above; sisters, Leomia (Mike) Powell of Dillon, Sue Morton of Bennettsville, and Annette Carr of Florence; three grandchildren, Kaile Hogan of San Ysidro, Ca., Dillon Jackson and Zane Jackson both of Pageland.

Wilma Wallace McDowell
CHERAW – Wilma Wallace McDowell, 62, died, Jan. 21, 2009.
A celebration of the life of Mrs. McDowell was held at 11 a.m. Jan. 24, at Maranatha Family Center, Cheraw. Burial was held in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
She was a daughter of the late Wilford “Speedy” Wallace and Nora Bell Wallace Brigman. She was a lady of faith, family and determination. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, also, baking, crafts, gardening and sewing. She was a member of Maranatha Family Center and the Overcomers by Faith Ministry.
Surviving are her husband, David McDowell, Sr. of Cheraw; sons, David (Wendy) “Len” McDowell, Jr. of Cheraw, Danny (Dona) Wallace of Chesterfield; daughters, Gloria McDowell Curtis, Vicky (Jason) Wallace Dunn all of Cheraw; a sister, Bonnie Riggan of Cheraw and 11 grandchildren.
The family will recieved friends 6-8 p.m. Jan. 23, at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw.

MONCKS CORNER - Graveside services for Mrs. Geneva Beckham Craig of 107 Robbins St. were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27 in Greenlawn cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Howell officiating.
Mrs. Craig, 84, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at her residence.
born in Williamsburg County on Feb. 20, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Marshall Hilliard Beckham and Mary Gertrude Wilson Beckham. A member of Great Falls Second Baptist Church, Mrs. Craig was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens Company.
Survivors include a son, Rayford Craig of Moncks Corner; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a sister, Winona Johnson of Lancaster.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wade Craig.

A memorial service will be held at noon Jan. 24 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Forestville, MD. Burial will be held in Arlington National cemetery at a later date.
Tera was a devoted mother of Demitric and Joe Martinez and Jasmyne Robertson.
Surviving is her husband, Dion Robertson; her mother, Paulette Pratt of North Carolina; her father, James Smith of South Carolina; five brothers, James Smith, Billy Smith of Georgia, Teddy Smith of Virginia, Jermaine Smith of North Carolina and De’Aron Smith of South Carolina; and other relatives and friends.
