Bobby Butler of Pageland passed away June 14, 2012. A funeral service was held Sunday, June 17, at 3 p.m. at the Flemming Funeral Chapel in Pageland, . Committal and interment was held at the Butler Family cemetery in Pageland. Mr. Butler was the son of the late George and Margaret Butler. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn Durant; and son, Kenyatta Makeba Butler. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Butler of the home.
Bazil Rivers
Bazil Allen Rivers of Chesterfield passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012. A funeral service was held Wednesday, June 13, at 3 p.m. at Flemming Funeral Chapel in Chesterfield with The Reverend Napoleon Zinnerman officiating. Burial followed in the Chesterfield Community cemetery. Mrs. Rivers, daughter of the late Curtis and Ola Rivers Allen, was born on May 19, 1931, in Chesterfield. Raised in a Christian home, Bazil was the youngest of six children.
Ronnie Tarlton
Ronnie Dale Tarlton, 41, died Monday, June 25, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel in Chesterfield. Mr. Tarlton was born Nov. 20, 1970, in Concord, N.C., a son of Gilbert Ray and Jo White Tarlton. He was a former operator of Ruby Wrecker Service and Garage, and was an auto mechanic. Ronnie was a member of Forest Pine Church. Survivors include his wife, Karen Faulk Tarlton.
Reeda Smith
Reeda “Teeny” Marie Young Smith, 81, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from complications of cancer. Reeda was born on June 17, 1931, in Union. She was the second of three children born to the late Ernest and Marie Young. She graduated from Union High School in 1949 and was employed as a financial secretary. Reeda was a loyal member of First Baptist Church since moving to Cheraw in 1972.
Bonnie Davis
Bonnie Barrington Davis, 75, passed away, on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at her home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. She was born May 31, 1937, in Marlboro County, the daughter of the late Wesley and Wilma Love Barrington. Mrs. Davis retired as a CNA at Chesterfield General. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed sewing.
Mogens E. Henningsen
Mogens Erik Henningsen, 63, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the McLeod Hospice House. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the National cemetery in Florence with military honors. Visitation was Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Henningsen was born in Mt. Clemens, Mich., the son of Ebbe and Grace Streett Henningsen.

Minnie McFarland Wilkerson, 90, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 . A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bay Springs Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Wilkerson was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late Sandy and Carrie Woodward McFarland.

Doris Jean McCaig Chapman, 80, widow of Luther Chapman, died Monday, June 18, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Don Childers and the Rev. Joseph Morgan will officiate with burial in the Society Hill Latter-day Saints cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. born in Amarilla, Texas.

Annie Ruth Parker Mason, 92, of Cheraw, died Monday, June 11, 2012. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Anson Memorial Park in Wadesboro, N.C. The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Kiser Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service in Kiser Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Mason, the daughter the late Albert Luther and Lillie Mae Allen Parker, was born in Wadesboro, N.C. on June 8, 1920.

CHARLOTTE - Memorial services for Mrs. Carole Elliott Harker of 1933 Milton Road were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Barron Funeral Chapel with Minister Michael Shaffer officiating.
Mrs. Harker, 69, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
born in Chester on Feb. 16, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. Elliott and Ruth Hamiter Elliott. A graduate of Chester High School, Mrs. Harker was retired from Zenith Engraving.
Survivors include her companion, Jimmy Johnson of Charlotte; two daughters, Leah Church and Lynda Counterman, both of Richburg; a son, Larry Harker of Rock Hill; two granddaughters; two sisters, Norma Elliott of Columbia and Patricia Smith of Melbourne, Fla.; and a brother, Thomas Elliott Jr. of Lander, Wy.
Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Hospital Foundation, Harris Hospice Unit, 200 Hawthorne Lane, P.O. Box 33549, Charlotte, N.C. 28233.

Interment followed in the Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery in Ruby. Visitation was from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 17, prior to the service at the funeral home. Ms. Keller was born March 10, 1945, in Romney W.V.

Joseph Karl Loesch, 89, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012. The family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 18, including a Rosary service at 6 p.m. at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw. born in Vienna, Austria, on Feb. 16, 1923, he was a son of the late Albert and Marie Koller Loesch. Mr. Loesch became an American Citizen in 1959. He was retired from INA Bearing. He worked at Cheraw Country Club and was an avid golfer.

Jerry McManus, Rev. Ed Griggs, and Rev Don Rhyne will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The family received friends Thursday, June 28, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Mrs. McManus was born in Chesterfield County.

Otis Benjamin Tyler, 83, of Dale City, Va, formerly of Fort Gibson, Okla., died Friday, June 29, 2012, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Ruby cemetery in Ruby. Mr. Tyler was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Braggs, Okla., the son of Winfred and Alma Roland Tyler. He lived in Fort Gibson prior to joining the Naval Reserves, and later changing to the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne Division Headquarters.

PAGELAND — Rachel Helms Sherrin, age 57, died March 5, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., March 8, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation immediately following the service. Mrs. Sherrin was born June 22, 1954, in Monroe, N.C., a daughter of the late Rayford Vernon and Virginia “Bobbi” Outlaw Helms. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Jerry Clayton Sherrin of the home; a son, Clayton.

MT. CROGHAN — Bobby Ulys Hudson, 31, died April 8, 2012. Funeral services were held April 12, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Long Branch Baptist Church cemetery. The family held visitation prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Hudson was born Sept. 24, 1980, in Monroe, N.C., a son of Christopher Scott Hudson and Millie Jean Thurman Joplin. He was a tree climber with TASC Tree Co.

PAGELAND — Jois McDonald, 92, died April 10, 2012, at Carolina Pines Regional Hospital in Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services were held April 15, at Sandy Run Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Oro United Methodist Church cemetery. Sowell was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Chesterfield County to Estridge and Roxie Nevins McDonald. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Sandy Run Missionary Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C.
