CHESTER - The funeral for Ms. Janet Latoya Jackson of 547 Gage St. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 at Gethsemane Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Charles Pratt, pastor, will officiate and be assisted by the Rev. E.D. Morrison, the Rev. Robert Bailey, the Rev. Alonzo Gregory, the Rev. S. Jenkins and the Rev. Terry Feaster. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Jackson, 18, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in Chester.
born in Chester, she was a daughter of Donzell Jackson and Cathy Sanders Jackson. A member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, Ms. Jackson attended Chester High School and was employed with McDonald's in Richburg.
Survivors include her parents, Donzell Jackson and Cathy Sanders Jackson; a son, Ja'Vonté Lamont Jackson of the home; two brothers, Patrick Jackson and Derrick Jackson, both of Chester; and a sister, Tonya Clawson and her husband, Michael, of Chester.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, John Jackson, Christine J. Jackson and Alberta Sanders.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 547 Gage St., Chester.

Mr. Elsamson 'Big Red' Hardin, 40
CHESTER - The funeral for Mr. Elsamson "Big Red" Hardin will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 16, at King's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Hardin, 40, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, in Charlotte.
born in Chester County on Dec. 2, 1963, he was a son of Eli Hardin Sr. and the late Janie Elizabeth Hardin. Mr. Hardin attended East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte and eventually received his GED from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. He completed truck driving school and was employed with KLM Trucking Company for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hardin; a daughter, Natasha Nichole White; four stepchildren, Falah Akiah Peterson, James Pearce, Eddaisha Maske and Lanika Maske; his father, Eli Hardin and his wife, Irene, of Chester; five sisters, Elnora Hardin and her husband, Howard, Hopie Hardin and her husband, Theo, Janie Mae Stewart and her husband, Leon, Judy Hardin and her husband, Rolando, and Pauline Mitchell and her husband, Walker, all of Charlotte; five brothers, Eli Hardin Jr. and his wife, Jenny, John Henry Hardin and his wife, Gloria, Greenberry Hardin and his wife, Tina, and Floyd Hardin, all of Charlotte, and Roosevelt Hardin and his wife, Evelyn, of Myrtle Beach; six step-grandchildren; and two stepbrothers, Tracy Truesdale and Derrick Wright, both of Charlotte.

Mrs. Guynell Abrams White, 38
GREAT FALLS - The funeral for Mrs. Guynell Abrams White of 45 Holly St. will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 at First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Great Falls. The Rev. Michael L. Golden, pastor, will deliver the eulogy and be assisted by Evangelist Diane Bowden, the Rev. Michael Black, the Rev. William Hayes and the Rev. Cookie Washington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. White, 38, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at her residence.
born in Great Falls, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Glossiel Holmes Abrams. A member of First Mount Zion Baptist Church, Mrs. White graduated from Chester High School in 1983. She attended York Technical College and Southern College in Rock Hill and was formerly employed with Black and Decker in Fort Mill.
Survivors include her husband, William White Jr. of the home; a daughter, Precious Abrams of the home; a son, William White III of the home; a brother, Silas Holmes and his wife, Sadie, of Great Falls; and four sisters, Cora Carter and her husband, Elijah, and Margaret Dean and her husband, Kenny, all of Chester, and Helen Abrams and Fannie Mae Brown and her husband, Charlie, all of Great Falls.
The family is receiving friends at the home, 45 Holly Street.
Viewing will be today, Friday, from 1-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls.
The body will be placed in the church at noon on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Washington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis Szymborski
ROCK HILL -- Dennis Daniel Szymborski, 68, of 1812 Ginger Cake Circle, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at his home.
The funeral was May 19, 2008, at Bratton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted A. Tinker and the Rev. Dennis Ayers officiating. Burial was at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
A resident of Rock Hill, Dennis Szymborski was a son of the late Joseph Szymborski and Wanda Urbanski Szymborski. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and retired as a staff sergeant.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Brown Szymborski of Rock Hill; his son, Arthur "Art" Szymborski of McConnells; his daughter, Tricia Campbell of York; two sisters, Carol Patrick and Pat Gillespie, both of New Jersey; and two grandchildren, A.J. Szymborski and Jessica Szymborski.
Bratton Funeral Home in York served the Szymborski family.
Gene Wise
ROCK HILL -- William Eugene "Gene" Wise, 69, of Aziza Road, died May 15, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
The funeral was held May 17, 2008, at Eastview Baptist Church. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

Eula Childers
CLOVER -- Eula Brandon Childers, 91, of 1009 Third St. died Friday, May 16, 2008, at her home in Clover.
The funeral was held May 18, 2008, at Bratton Funeral Home, with the Rev David J. Stanford officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Eula Childers was a daughter of the late Wister and Stacey Hardin Brandon. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hickory Grove, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce C. and Homer Moses of Clover, Beverly Thackston of Clover, Paulette Dunbar of Clover, Robbie and Mike Huffstetler of Pittsboro, N.C., and Cathy and Rick Wingler of Kannapolis, N.C.; two sons and daughter-in-law, John Childers of Evans, Ga., and Randy and Sandra Childers of Clover; a sister, Betty Pannell of Dallas, N.C.; two daughters-in-law, Sally Childers and Juanita Childers, both of Clover; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Childers; two sons, David Childers and Marvin Childers; and daughter Margaret Childers.
Pallbearers were Robert Childers, Brandon Childers, Justin Childers, Paul Childers, Randy Childers Jr, and Daniel Moss.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Clover, 117 S. Main Street, Clover, SC 29745.

Frances Hewitt Green
Frances Hewitt Green, 86, of Edgefield, formerly of Graniteville, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab. She was the wife of the late James Franklin Green.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. at Graniteville cemetery, with the Rev. Lowell Clark officiating.
Mrs. Green had made Graniteville her home for 60 years before moving to Edgefield in 2005. She was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Graniteville.
Survivors include two sons, Michael J. Green, Vaucluse, and Mark A. Green, Ridge Spring; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Rowland Funeral Home, North Augusta, was in charge of arrangements.
Richard V. Campbell
Mr. Richard V. Campbell, 85, of Trenton, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008. He was the husband of the late Ruth Fields Campbell for 52 years and the son of the late Morill Campbell and the late Catherine Currier Campbell.
A private service was held for Mr. Campbell at the Fields Family cemetery.
Mr. Campbell was born in China, Maine but had been a resident of Aiken County for the past 66 years. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Gloverville.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois (Wayne) Fields Langley, Trenton; brothers, David Campbell, Vincent Campbell and Phillip Campbell; a sister, Phyllis Roe, all of Maine; three grandchildren, Wayne (Dori) Langley, Jerry Langley and Phillip McCarty; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alden, Leon and Bobby Campbell; and a sister, Arleen Campbell.
Memorials in his honor may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Latane McClendon Mayers
Ms. Latene McClendon Mayers, 49, of Lexington, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at Lexington Medical Center.
Private graveside services were held Friday, Dec. 12, at Eastview cemetery in Edgefield.
Ms. Mayers was born in Augusta, Ga. and was the daughter of Harold L. and Elizabeth Ouzts McClendon. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, survivors include a daughter, Ashley Griffin Mayers; and a brother, Daniel L. McClendon.
She was predeceased by a sister, Gale McClendon Jarriel. Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Legacy Carroll
Legacy Carroll, infant daughter of Jack Jude Carroll and Ashton Carroll, of North Augusta, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at the Medical College of Georgia.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated graveside on Friday, Dec. 19, at 3:30 p.m. in Pineview Memorial Park, with Father Cherian Thalakulam, celebrant.
Additional survivors include maternal grandparents, Rose Theresa and Mike Carroll; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Bridget Carroll; and a brother, Johnny Duke Carroll.

Wallace Loman
Mr. Wallace Loman, 73, of Edgefield, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with Brother Maple Phillips officiating. Burial was in Young Piney Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include a brother, Milton (Marie) Loman; five sisters, Annie L. Williams, Bessie L. (John) Dixon, Josephine L. Moore, Mary L. (Pernell) Richardson, and Edith L. Brown; sisters-in-law, Alice Loman and Catherine Loman; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Thomas F. Rodgers
Thomas F. (Tom) Rodgers, 64, husband of the late Jennie Rodgers, died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Edgefield County Hospital. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 11 A.M. at Turkey Ridge cemetery.
All Hunters who are attending the Graveside Service are encouraged to wear Camouflage. Mr. Rodgers was a native of Fredricksburg, Va. He was the son of the late Thomas E. Rodgers and Mrs. Lottie Samuels Rodgers. He was the founder of the National Wild Turkey Federation and was the Retired host of the Everyday Sportsman.
Survivors include his Mother, one son, Mark Rodgers, Marietta, Ga.; 2 sisters, Barbara Broaddus and Melody borneman, both of Fredricksburg. Va.
Eddie E. Drumming Jr.
Mr. Eddie E. Drumming Jr., 61, of Padgett Road in Trenton, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. at Shaws Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Martin Ryan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Drumming, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Tongi (Cleveland) Jones, Augusta, Ga., and Nakia Drumming, Trenton; two sons, Gregory James, Aiken, and Leon (Sharon) Simpkins, Augusta; his mother, Inez Barnes Drumming, Trenton; four sisters, Vera (Michael) Gilliam, Columbia, Linda (Ricky) Brunson, Trenton, Gloria (Dwayne) Ligons, Ridge Spring, and Shirley (Robert) Tucker, Trenton; three brothers, Robert (Lorraine) Drumming, Timothy (Ruth) Drumming and Ronnie (Martha) Drumming, Trenton; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Sue B. Cogburn
Sue B. Cogburn, 83, of Edgefield, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1008 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. at Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Miss Cogburn was born in Edgefield and was a member of Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include five sisters, Ruby Mae Timmerman, Rebecca James, Helen Padgett Hare, Joan Nobles and Rhett O'Neal; and a brother, Steve "Ike" Cogburn.
Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
