PAGELAND — Emily Dawn Morris, 52, died March 1, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services were held March 3 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery in Pageland. Visitation was prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morris was born Aug. 5, 1959, in Harrisburg, Pa., a daughter of the late J.B. and JoAnn Helms Haigler. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Dawn was also preceded in death by her husband James Steven Morris.
Surviving are one son, Nathaniel (Elizabeth) Watkins of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters, Leighann Watkins of the home, Kasey Felix of Lancaster, S.C., and Chancey Airington of Pageland; one sister Robin Lewis of Pageland; also four grandchildren.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home served the Morris family.
Clinton Lloyd Martin Jr.
Mr. Clinton Lloyd Martin Jr., 59, of Hwy. 121 in Johnston, died Wednesday, April 2, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Saint Luke Church cemetery in Berrien County, Ga.
Mr. Martin, a native of Coffee County, Ga., was born Aug. 31, 1949. He is the son of the late Clinton Lloyd Sr. and Katie O'Neal Martin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era and was a self-employed parking lot maintenance person.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Martin; daughter, Cecilya Lynn Walden, Trenton; a son, Clinton Lloyd (Dana) Martin III, North Augusta; sisters, Catherine Sean (Dwight) Evans, Blakely, Ga. and Wanda Martin, Woodsboro, Md.; brothers, Willis Lamar Martin, Graniteville, Harvey(Tammy) Martin, Evans, Ga., Dennis (Leslie) Martin and Jerry Martin, Frederick, Md.; grandchildren, Catie Walden, Lindsay martin, Hannah Martin and Chloe Martin.

Gladys Davis Kelly
CHESTERFIELD — Gladys Davis Kelly, 81, died Feb. 29, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services were held March 2 at the Chapel of Pine Grove Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family held visitation March 1, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kelly was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late John Murray Davis Sr. and Viola Cranford Davis. She was a retired employee of Mar Mac. Gladys was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully for years on the VBS food committee, social committee, and was a former Sunday School teacher. In addition to her parents, Gladys was also preceded in death by her husband Wilson Kelly; three brothers, Bealer, John M., and Gene Davis; and by a sister, Doris D. Shaw.
Surviving are two sons Larry (Carolyn) Kelly of Ridgeland, S.C., and Mike (Becky) Kelly of Cheraw; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Kyle) Brower of Chesterfield, Morgan Kelly and Tara (Aaron) Hayes of Ridgeland S.C.; also four great grandchildren; one brother W. L. (Kate) Davis of Lexington, S.C.; two sisters Lib D. Guinn and Helen D. Moore of Chesterfield; special nieces and caregivers, Carol Rivers and Doris Ann Lisenby; also several other nieces and nephews.

Anneliese Dokupil Clark
Mrs. Anneliese Dokupil Clark, of Woodyard Road in Trenton, wife of the late Father George R. Clark Sr., died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab.
A Requiem Mass was held Thursday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at Luke Anglican Catholic Church in Augusta, Ga.
A graveside service was held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior Episcopal cemetery in Trenton.
Mrs. Clark was born in Germany and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, George R. Clark Jr., North Augusta; and a grandson, James Clark.

Nell Talbert Timmerman
Mrs. Nell Talbert Timmerman, 92, wife of the late James W. Timmerman Sr., of Hwy 23 in Edgefield, died Tuesday, March 17, at National Health Care.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Timmerman was a native of Edgefield County and was the oldest member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was the owner and manager of City Finance in McCormick.
Survivors include two sons, Bob (Glenda) Timmerman, North Augusta, and Dabney 'Bubba' (Kim) Timmerman, Myrtle Beach; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Timmerman, Edgefield; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, James W. 'Jimmy' Timmerman Jr.

Glenn R. Gulledge
CHERAW — Glenn R. Gulledge, 52, died Feb. 28, 2012.
Funeral services were held March 1 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with burial following at Shiloh United Methodist Church cemetery. The family held visitation Feb. 29 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, S.C.
Mr. Gulledge was born Jan. 7, 1960, in Lumberton, N.C., a son of the late Elizabeth Caudle Gulledge. He was a 1978 graduate of Bowman Senior High School and was an electrician with Wade Manufacturing in Wadesboro, N.C. Glenn enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, camping, flying, fine dining, mechanical work, and was a true “Fix-it-Man.”
In addition to his mother, Glenn was also preceded in death by a sister, Patti Lee.
Surviving are his wife Faye Gaskins Chewning of the home; four sons John Gulledge of Cheraw, James E. (Anh) Chewning, Jr. of Waxhaw, N.C., Douglas Scott (Christie) Chewning of Raleigh, N.C., and Mark A. (Mollie) Chewning of Matthews, N.C.; four grandchildren, Luke, Wyatt, Peyton, and Jameson Chewning; one sister Terry (Mike) Welch of Lilesville, N.C.; two aunts, Virginia Jones of Tallahassee, Fl. and Shirley Bowers of Wadesboro, N.C.; mother-in-law, Gladys P. Gaskins of Chesterfield, S.C.

Louise Jordan Quarles
Mrs. Louise Jordan Quarles, 84, of Johnston, wife of the late John E. Quarles, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m. at Philippi Baptist Church in Johnston. Burial was in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Quarles was born in Edgefield County and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She was a retired textile worker and a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Q. Chrisco, Edgefield, and Sandra Q. Bledsoe, Johnston; two sisters, Leon Ready, Aiken, and Ellie Key, North Augusta; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Larry Eugene Haynes
CHERAW — Larry Eugene Haynes, 63, died Feb. 26, 2012.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. March 2, at Kiser Funeral Home, with burial following at 2 p.m. in Florence National cemetery, Florence, S.C. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Haynes was born in Lynchburg, Va., a son of Harold V. Haynes of Altavista, Va., and the late Christine Yeatts Haynes. He was a member of Green River Country Club and enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of the International Poets Society and had published songs. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed supporting the University of Virginia and the Indianapolis Colts. Haynes was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.
Surviving are his sons, Grant (Angela) Haynes of Salisbury, N.C., Matthew (Jessica) Haynes of Rockingham, N.C., Zachary Haynes of Cheraw, S.C.; a daughter, Taylor Haynes of Cheraw; his father listed above, a brother, William (Penny) V. Haynes of Roanoke, Va.; a sister, Sharon (Robert) Lowman of Roanoke; grandchildren, Ashby Haynes, Whitney Haynes, Kross Haynes and a great grandchild, Jayden Webster.

Edna Duren Wilson
JEFFERSON — Edna Duren Wilson, 93, died Feb. 18, 2012.
Funeral services were held Feb. 25 at Rock Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, in Jefferson, with burial in the Church cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was born Feb. 28, 1919, in Jefferson, the daughter of the late Wylie and Ella Threatt Duren. Edna married
Joseph Wilson in 1943. Edna was a member of Rock Hill A.M.E. Zion Church. Edna deeply loved her family, her church family and friends. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Missionary Circle, Trustee, Deaconess, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the choir.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wilson; seven brothers, Charlie, Albert, Laney, George, Kinzy, Olin, and James Wylie Duren; four sisters, Addie Duren, Arliva Duren Laney, Lillie Ray and Nannie Duren Smith.
Surviving are three sisters, Arzenia Sinclair, Greenville, N.C., Alberta Lewis and Margaret Cooper, Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Jasper Duren, Fort Washington, Md.; also numerous other family and friends.

Mr. Gavin Cunningham, 34
LANCASTER - The funeral for Mr. Gavin Bernard Cunningham was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28 from the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Haile and the Rev. Gary Stevens officiated and burial followed in the Fort Lawn cemetery.
Mr. Cunningham, 34, died Monday, March 22, 2004, in Detroit.

Chester Lee Jr.
Mr. Chester Lee Jr., 73, of Marigold Street in Edgefield, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab of Edgefield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at China Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edward Lloyd officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Lee, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of China Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Dexter Lee, Edgefield; a sister, Jennie Lee Jones; two brothers, Joseph (Maxine) Lee and Roosevelt Lee; three grandchildren, Pedro B. Lee, Shawn L. Lee, and Jashawna Lee; a sister-in-law, Cleora (Lionel) Gaskin; five brothers-in-law, Joe B. Bean, Johnston, Willie (Lillian) Bean, George Bean, Robert Bean and Lovett (Addie) Bean; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Russell Burnham Hawes Sr., 79
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Mr. Russell Burnham Hawes Sr., 79, formerly of Nashua, N.H., died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center.
born in Arlington, Mass. on April 15, 1924, he was a son of Newell Hubbard Hawes and Helen Lytle Hawes. Upon graduation from Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge, Mass., Mr. Hawes was admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and after that Harvard University. During this time he was employed as an electronics technician with Raytheon Corp. in Waltham, Mass. and with Cruft Laboratory at Harvard University. Mr. Hawes interrupted his education to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a corporal from 1943-1946 in the Pacific Theater as a radar technician. After World War II, Mr. Hawes graduated from MIT in 1949 with a bachelor of science in physics.
He was employed by Sperry Gyroscope Company in Great Neck, N.Y., where he was the group leader of systems for the Sparrow I missile development project. His duties included the design and development of the guidance systems and various electronic components for a series of test missiles. Also included was the design and development of electronic launching equipment for ground launching of the missiles. During this time, Mr. Hawes also worked at Point Mugu, Calif. as well, where he supervised the launching of the concluding series of test missiles, including conducting the on-pad pre-flight checkouts for the first guided Sparrow I missile.
Mr. Hawes also worked as a senior systems engineer in the electronics division of the American Machine and Foundry Company in Boston, where he worked on the development of the range-tracking sytems for the Terrier missile as well as the automatic distress alarm unit for the Air Force Rescue Network. He was also employed as section head for systems at Sanders Associates in Nashua, N.H., where he was involved in the development of a stability augmentation system (autopilot) for the F106 aircraft and the APN-77 doppler hovering device for the Bureau of Aeronautics. He was issued a number of patents in the fields of missile guidance systems and electronic components.
Mr. Hawes played hockey with the Piedmont Hockey Association in Winston-Salem for the past 25 years and was also a coach of little league hockey in the Winston-Salem Amateur Hockey Association. He participated in the over-75 Charles Schulz Senior World Hockey Tournament in Santa Rosa, Calif. three different times.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Constance Clough Hawes; a son, Russell Burnham Hawes Jr. and his wife, Meg, of Chester; and two grandchildren.

Marguerite C. Hammond
Mrs. Marguerite C. Hammond, of Martintown Road in Edgefield, wife of the late V.A. 'Bo' Hammond, died Sunday, April 5, at Hammond House.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at Peace Haven Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Hammond was born in Lavonia, Ga. and was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Chambers, Edgefield; a grandson, Seth Chambers, Edgefield; two sisters, Mildred Hart, Lancaster, Marilyn Williams, Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. James 'Jim' Pressley Jr., 70
CHESTER - Graveside services for Mr. James Brenton "Jim" Pressley Jr. of 123 West End St. will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 1 in Zion Presbyterian Church cemetery with the Rev. Rick Wheeler and the Rev. Chip Sneed officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be law enforcement officers of Chester County and the City of Chester.
Mr. Pressley, 70, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at Chester County Hospital.
born in Chester County on Jan. 26, 1934, he was a son of the late James Brenton Pressley Sr. and Hettie Mae Brown Pressley. A member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mr. Pressley graduated from Chester High School and attended Clemson University on a football scholarship. A major with the Chester County Sheriff's Department, he was a member of IPTAY and formerly served as a U.S. Marshall. Mr. Pressley also formerly served as the sheriff of Chester County and was a member of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Association.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Rowland Pressley; three daughters, Wendy Pressley, Candy S. Grant and Debra A. Slack, all of Chester; a son, Randy Myers of Chester; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Tom B. Pressley and John N. Pressley, both of Chester.
He was predeceased by a sister, Joan McKay.
The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Great Falls Hwy., Chester.
