GREAT FALLS - A celebration of life service for Mr. Bobby Ray Talford of 123 Washington St. will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Loving Charity Baptist Church in Richburg with Minister Gracene Hayden officiating and Pastor George Mackey presiding. The Rev. Chapman, the Rev. Anthony Pelham and the Rev. Leon Wright will assist. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Talford died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born Nov. 8, 1957.

CHESTER – Attorney John Wilson Cutliff, 89, of 100 Culp St. Apt. D-6 died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his home.

CHESTER – Mrs. Mary Young Davis, 86, of 1198 Old York Road died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital in Newberry, S.C.

Mrs. Lois Viola Wilkie Dillinger, 86
YORK - Mrs. Lois Viola Wilkie Dillinger, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Woodward Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Wilson and Rev. Melvin Pressley officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Ms. Loretta Jackson, 57
CHESTER – Ms. Loretta Jackson, 57, of 126 Helen St. passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Christian Home Baptist Church in Lowrys with the Rev. J.F. Williams officiating and pastor Annie McFadden delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church and later joined Trinity Christian Fellowship Church. She was retired from Springs Industries and was formerly employed by Spot Foods in Chester.

Mrs. Jennifer Ann Scott Edwards, 65
ROCK HILL - Jennifer Ann Scott Edwards, 65, of 3526 Mount Holly Road, Edgemoor died Monday, Dec. 10, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
born in Rock Hill, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Scott and the late Margie Scott of Edgemoor.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Edwards Cavin and husband Brian; her son, Joel Edwards; and four grandchildren, Ian, Jennings, Kaci and Emma Cavin.
Mr. Hubert G. 'Pop' Kerr, 82
RICHBURG – Mr. Hubert G. "Pop" Kerr, 82, of 4009 Wylies Mill Road passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the chapel of King's Funeral Home, 135 cemetery St., Chester, with the Rev. Titus Thorn officiating.
born in Water Valley, Miss. on Nov. 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Calvin Kerr and Janie Dukes Kerr. He was a retired construction worker.
Mr. Robert Edward Pike Jr., 47
CHESTER - Mr. Robert Edward Pike Jr., 47, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Chester Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends anytime at the home at 148 East Lacy St., Chester.
Mr. Pike was born Sept. 4, 1965, in Fort Belvoir, Va. and was a son of Carol Bond Pike and the late Robert Edward Pike Sr. He was a graduate of The Art Institute of Philadelphia and was self-employed as a graphic artist.

CHESTER – Mr. Oscar "Buddy" Harrison, 95, of 2567 Aaron Burr Road died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at his home.

GREAT FALLS - Mr. L.J. Horton, 82, left this home to go to his heavenly home on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville.
The funeral service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Weldon Sellers and the Rev. Tom Tucker officiating. Interment followed in Greenlawn cemetery.
Mr. Richard Jayson 'Ric' Jones Jr., 23
GREAT FALLS - A memorial service for Mr. Richard Jayson "Ric" Jones Jr. will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Zack Williams officiating. Burial will be private.
Mr. Jones, 23, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 25, 1989.
Mr. William David Black II, 19
LOCKHART - William David Black II, age 19, of Lockhart died unexpectedly on Nov. 24, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Mrs. Lessie Davis, 91
MARYLAND – Mrs. Lessie Davis, 91, formerly of the Wilksburg community in Chester County, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.
Arrangements will be announced later by King's Funeral Home, 135 cemetery St., Chester.
Robert L. “Bob” Doran
Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Doran, 77, of Johnston, husband of the late Minnie Page Doran, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Doran was born in Virginia and he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Doran; five sons, Gary (Chrissie) Doran, Terry (Ann) Doran, Jerry (Jennifer) Doran, Rick (Jamie) Doran, Randy (Farrah) Doran; three sisters, Dorothy Caldwell, Margie Hann, Ruth Moore; two brothers, Denver and Roy Doran; and 11 grandchildren.
Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Martha Pamelia Hutto
Mrs. Martha Pamelia Hutto, 93, of Modoc, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at Modoc Baptist Church, with the Revs. Charles Jenkins and Robert Patton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hutto was born in Plum Branch. She was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Betts Clem. She was a retired secretary for Army Corps of Engineers of Clarks Hill. She was a member of Modoc Baptist Church.
Survivors include grandchildren, Tony Jr. and wife Michelle, Shane, Matt, Aaron, Haley, Brandi; daughter-in-law, Deborah; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred H. Hutto Jr.; two sons, Tony Sr. and David Sr.; and a grandson, David Hutto Jr.
Memorials can be made to Modoc Baptist Church.
Strom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Mathis
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Mathis, of Johnston, were held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Rosa Spring Baptist Church in Johnston. Burial was in Mt. Alpha Baptist Church cemetery in Ward.
Davis Funeral Home, Johnston, was in charge of arrangements.
W. Preston Morgan
Mr. W. Preston Morgan, 85, of Old Chappell Ferry Road in Johnston, husband of Alma Quarles Morgan, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 at Edgefield County Hospital.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Morgan was born in Edgefield County and was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. He was retired from Savannah River Site. He was a World War II Army veteran and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion and the 40 & 8.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four daughters, Rita (Tony) Callaham, Greenville, Susan Conley, Edgefield, Brenda (John) Hammond, Raleigh, N.C., Nancy (Buddy) DeLoach, Saluda; a son, Brooks (Mary) Morgan, Edgefield; three sisters, Margaret Hammond, Johnston, Sarah Brooks Barnes, Greenville, and Julia Bledsoe, Johnston; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Marguerite Turner Morgan; a stepson, Joe Williams; and a brother, Boyce Morgan.
Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
