Mr. Don Wilton Faile, Sr., formerly of Flat Creek, SC, died Friday, January 22, 2010 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 25th at Midway Baptist Church cemetery in Flat Creek, SC with the Reverend Todd Gandy officiating.
born November 1, 1938 in Kershaw, SC, Mr. Faile was the son of the late Kermit L. Faile and Rosa Lee Lowery Faile. He was a graduate of Flat Creek High School and Clemson University with a Bachelors of Arts. He was a US Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Don W. “DJ” Faile, Jr. of Union, SC and former wife and caregiver Pamela Pearson Faile of Chester, SC.

Great Falls - Dellmas Charles Harper, age 55, of Great Falls went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 9, at First Baptist Church of Great Falls with Rev. Greg Batchelor officiating. Interment is private.
born December 22, 1954, Mr. Harper was a son of Lois Hicks Harper and the late Dellmas Charles Harper, Sr. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School. He was Manager of City Builders of Rock Hill and an active member of First Baptist Church of Great Falls where he proudly served on the Properties Committee.
He is survived by his wife Susan Sims Harper; one daughter, Shannon H. Blanks and husband, Joel of Heath Springs, SC; grandchildren Aidan and Jordan Blanks of Heath Springs; his mother, Lois Hicks Harper of Great Falls, SC; two brothers, Larry Harper of Lancaster, SC and Charles Harper of Great Falls, SC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 8, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls.

George Dana Greenleaf
January 29, 1918 - January 4, 2010
Great Falls - George D. Greenleaf, 91, of Lexington, SC, formerly of Suffield, Connecticut passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010 at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, SC. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM on Friday, January 8, at Mount Dearborn United Methodist Church, 10 Calhoun St., Great Falls with Rev. Scott Smoak officiating. Inurnment will be in Arlington National cemetery at a date to be announced. Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
born January 29, 1918 in Hartford, Ct., he was a son of the late Dana A. and Gertrude C. Greenleaf. A resident of Suffield, Ct since 1940, he attended the public schools and graduated from Trinity College in 1939. He taught mathematics, physics, and computer science at Suffield High School for forty years. He also taught at Tauranga College in New Zealand on a Fullbright Exchange. He retired in 1980.
Mr. Greenleaf served in the United States Army during World War II. He was assigned to the 1st Amphibious Engineer Brigade and the Advance Section of Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces in the European Theater of Operations. He made four amphibious landings in that theater. After release from active duty, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve’s 76th Division (TNG) until 1978, retiring with the rank of Colonel.
Mr. Greenleaf was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine, of sixty three years and a granddaughter, Jennifer. He is survived by three sons; Dana and his wife, Debbie, of Great Falls, SC, Kevin and his wife, Ellen, of Moyie Springs, Idaho, and Geoffery and his wife, Ann, of Kansas City, Missouri; and a sister, Peggy Daviduke of Windsorlocks, Ct. He also leaves four grandsons.

Richburg - Mr. Anthony Ross "Tony" Ferrell, 54, of Richburg died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Tabernacle Ministries Church, 4500 Great Falls Hwy., Great Falls, SC with Rev. Kenneth Compton officiating.
born in Chester, SC on May 3, 1955, he is a son of Ruby Jean Lavender Ferrell Roof and the late Ebbie Ross Ferrell. He was formerly employed by Great Falls Police Department and Coley Amusement Machines. He was a graduate of the schools of Chester County and a member of Tabernacle Ministries Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Brenda B. Ferrell; three sons, Anthony R. Ferrell, Jr. of Great Falls, Eric J. Ferrell and Joe C. Ferrell both of Richburg; two sisters, Dian F. Perry and Crystal F. Banks both of Great Falls; one brother, Eric D. Ferrell of Chester.

GREAT FALLS - Mr. Joe S. Goins, 97, died Saturday, January 02, 2010 at Tanglewood Nursing Center in Ridgeway, SC.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Second Baptist Church, Great Falls with Rev. Dale Walters officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Mr. Goins was born in Richland County, a son of the late William and Lillie Moak Goins. He attended school in Richland County, was a U.S. Army veteran of WWll and retired from J.P. Stevens Company.
He is survived by two daughters, Lucille Wilson of Lancaster, SC and Voncille Love of Blackstock, SC; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

born March 14, 1924, he was a son of the late Henry Patrick and Emma Lowe Hammonds. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Great Falls.
He is survived by his sister, Joyce Emma Daw and husband, Ted of Hixson, TN.; niece, Sheree Smith and husband, Randall; nephew, David Humphries; great niece, Dawn Smith; great nephew, Randall Smith, Jr. and wife, Rochelle; great niece, Breeanna Humphries; great-great nephew, Trent Van Krieken; and great-great nieces and nephews, Kyle, Ashley, and Tyler Smith.

born June 25, 1934, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Alma Jordan Waters. He retired from J.P. Stevens Co. and served in the U.S. Army in Korea where he received the Purple Heart. He attended the schools of Great Falls and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Great Falls. He is survived by one daughter, Alisha Deneen Wade of Lockhart, SC; two sons, Vance W. Burdette of Rock Hill, SC and Jamie Waters of Lockhart, SC; and one sister, Dalline Lebonville of Charlotte, NC.

Stevens Co. where she was employed as a spooler tender. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Great Falls. She is survived by her husband, William T. Blackmon, Sr.; one son, William T. Blackmon, Jr. of Great Falls; two daughters, Evelyn Blackmon of Chapin, SC and Becky Blackmon of Great Falls; one sister, Lucille Baker of Chester, SC

Annie Willie Holmes
Funeral services for Ms. Annie Willie Holmes, of Trenton, were held Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2010 at Young Piney Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael Key, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Ms. Holmes was a retired Edgefield County School System employee.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Holmes, Stanley Holmes and Bruce (Felicia) Holmes, all of Trenton; four daughters, Betty Jean Green, Willie Ruth “Parge” Holmes, Belinda Holmes, all of Trenton, and Denise Holmes Abney, of Johnston; four brothers, James Holmes Jr., Washington, D.C., Robert “Troll” (Janie) Holmes, Edgefield, Heyward (Catherine) Holmes and Terry (Othie Mae) Holmes, both of Trenton; sisters, Bennie Ruth Holmes, Trenton, Peggy Holmes, North Augusta, Deloris “Tina” Holmes Drumming, Trenton, Laura Ann Oliphant and Margaret (Johnnie) Jackson, both of Edgefield; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Robert Carson Jackson
Mr. Robert Carson Jackson, husband of Betty Williams Jackson and son of the late Woodrow Wilson Jackson and the late Mildred Elise Hite Jackson, of Trenton, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010.
A celebration of life service was conducted Monday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. Burial was in Aiken Memorial Park.
He was born in and has been a lifelong resident of Edgefield County. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Saluda. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #181 in Johnston and was a Shriner with the Hejaz Temple of Greenville. He was also a member of the S.C. National Guard. Until his failing health, he was actively employed in the logging business. His hobbies included listening to music and playing the bass guitar, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Robin Jackson Blackmon and her husband Gordon of Aiken; a stepson, Luke Williams and his wife Erica of Graniteville; a brother, James Wilson Jackson, of Trenton; stepchildren, Lexa Williams, Austin Reeves, Joseph Blackmon and Gordon Blackmon IV.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Quarles Jackson.

Miss Shannon Renee Mills, 32, of Augusta, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield, with Pastor Jackie Robinson officiating.
Miss Mills was born in Augusta, Ga., and was of the Baptist faith. She was a former employee of Pizza Hut.
Survivors include her mother and step-father, Richard and Ethel Hammond Crawford; her father, Robert Mills; four sisters, Christie Kimsey, Calhoun Falls, Kelly Carson, North Augusta, Brandi Mosley, Clearwater, Karen Brooks, Bath; her fiancé, David Yonn, Aiken; her nieces and nephews, Bridget Brooks, Brandon Able, Kaitlyn Mosley, Kayla Mosley, Dakota Scarboro, Kyle Mosley, Jason Scarboro, II, Logan Carson.

Wade H. Shedrick
Mr. Wade H. Shedrick, 69, of Brooks Street in Edgefield, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at Shaws Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. R.C. Holloway officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Shedrick, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Myra A. (Randy) Padgett, Trenton; two sons, Wade L. Shedrick, Augusta, Ga., and Barry S. Shedrick, Trenton; a brother, Ulysess (Mary) Johnson, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; ; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives.

born in Gaffney, SC on January 12, 1924, Mrs. Smarr was a daughter of the late Lawrence Allison and Daisy Coyle Allison. She attended the schools of Gaffney, SC and was retired from J.P.Stevens as a weaver. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church of Great Falls, SC and the widow of W.B.Smarr, Jr.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Smarr and his wife Gail; one grandson, Brooks Smarr and his wife Tonya and one great-granddaughter, Emilee Smarr all of Great Falls, SC; one brother Lawrence Allison and his wife Brenda of Gaffney, SC and one sister, Doris Mathis of Lexington, SC. Mrs. Smarr was preceded in death by a sister Louise Crocker.
