Mr. Herbert Martin, 58, of Gary Street in Edgefield, died Monday, May 25, 2009.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. J.R. Hooper officiating.
Mr. Martin was a member of Republican Grove Baptist Church in Edgefield .
Survivors include six sisters, Gloria (Terry) East, Edgefield, Rosa (Ollie) West, Johnston, Ophelia Baker, Mary (Joseph) Green, Charlotte (Earnest) Brown, and Deloris Hooper, all of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Richard (the Rev. Charlene) Martin, Richmond Va., and George Smith, Edgefield.

Virginia P. Fallaw
Graveside services for Mrs. Virginia P. Fallaw, 76, of Monetta, were held Friday, May 29, 2009 in Woodridge Memorial Park.
born on July 10, 1932, in Ridge Spring, she was the daughter of the late Sammie Owens Padgett and Gertrude Reynolds Padgett. She was a member of Ridge Spring Baptist Church.
Mrs. Fallaw was survived by her husband of 58 years, Luke H. “L.H.” Fallaw Sr.; a daughter, Linda Lamb, South Congaree; a son, “L.H.” Fallaw Jr. (wife, Mary Ann), Lexington; two grandchildren, Luke H. Fallaw III (wife, Sabrina) and Audrey Melissa Williams (fiancée, David Baroody); and four step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Ellis Lamb (wife, Amanda), Tracy Michelle Lamb, Ryan Chancelor “Chance” Lamb and Brett Sterling Lamb.
She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Harvey C. Padgett, James Padgett and O.W. Padgett; and a son-in-law, Terry Lamb.

Ronald O. Coleman
Mr. Ronald O. Coleman, 66, of New Ellenton, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood.
He was the husband of the late Barbara C. Coleman and son of Viola Harris Coleman of Edgefield and the late Thomas L. Coleman.
Graveside services were held Thursday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Hollow Creek Baptist Church cemetery, with the Rev. David L. Holdman officiating.
Mr. Coleman was a native of Edgefield and had made his home in New Ellenton for the past 30 years. He was co-owner and operator of Coleman Residential Care Home in New Ellenton.
Survivors include a son, Robbie Coleman, Gainesville, Ga.; a daughter, Debbie Moreland, Ninety Six; two brothers, Michael “Monk” Coleman; Johnston, Tim Coleman, Lexington; two sisters, Becky Myers and Debra Palmer, both of Greenwood; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

William C. Weaver
The Rev. William C. Weaver, of Edgefield, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Edgefield County Hospital. He was a son of the late Allen and Minnie Simpkins Weaver of Edgefield.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 23, at noon at Trinity Episcopal Church in Edgefield. Burial was in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Father Weaver was a graduate of Edgefield Academy and Voorhees School and Junior College. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Allen University with a B.A. degree in social studies. He earned a bachelor of Sacred Theology degree from the Philadelphia Divinity School and a master of Divinity degree from the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, Mass.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Virginia Dawkins Weaver; two sons, William C. (Clintona) Weaver II, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and James Allen (Crystal) Weaver, Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Loyd Weaver, Edgefield, the Rev. Dr. Allen Paul (Nettie) Weaver Jr., New Rochelle, N.Y.; two sisters, Elease McPhatter, Gainesville, Fla., Louise Weaver, Orlando, Fla; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Mr. James J. Riley, 87, of Edgefield Road in North Augusta, died Monday, May 18, 2009 at his residence.
The Mass of Christian Burial and Prayer Vigil were held Saturday, May 23, at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Edward Catholic Church, with Father Cherian Thalakulam, celebrant. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Park.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Carroll, Mary Sherlock and Patricia Sherlock; a son, Ed Riley; a brother, Pete Riley; and 14 grandchildren, all of North Augusta.

John Henry Mims III
Mr. John Henry Mims III, 70, of Ridge Road in North Augusta, died Thursday, May 21, 2009.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 23, at 4 p.m. at Mims Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Limuer Myers officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Mims, a native of Aiken County, was a member and deacon of Mims Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of Simmon Lodge 3A and the Old Macedonia Male Chorus.

Mr. George A. Butler, 28, of Butler Road in Trenton, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

Mr. Butler, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Willie J. Young, 53, of Academy Estate Road in Trenton, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the V.A. Medical Center in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 13, at 4 p.m. at Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. G.L. Brightharp officiating. Burial was in the Old Science Hill cemetery.
Mr. Young was a member of Science Hill Baptist Church in Trenton.

Mr. Willie James “Mickey” Young, 52, of Academy Estates Road in Trenton, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the VA Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Tina S. Young; his father, Press Elam, Edgefield; his sons, DeMarkus Young, Travis Young, Willie James Young Jr., all of Trenton, and Gabriel Harris, North Augusta; and daughters, Tedirid Harris, Deloris Harris, Natalie “Nicole” Williams, all of Trenton.
Mrs. Angela M. Griffith
Mrs. Sharon Angela McFarland Griffith, 47, of Trenton, beloved wife of Gerald B. Griffith, died Sunday January 30, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday February 2, 2011 at 1 P.M. at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Griffith was born in Augusta, Ga. and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and Former Secretary for Johnston Methodist Church and Harmony United Methodist Church. The loves of her life were her children, her family, her church, and she was an avid Strom Thurmond football fan and avid supporter of the Booster Club.

Mr. Don Robert Boyd Jr., 26, of Trenton, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at his residence.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
Mr. Boyd was born in Augusta, Ga. and was an employee of Layman's Nursery in Trenton.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, James E. and Annette Chambers Boatwright; his father, Don Robert Boyd Sr.; a son, Hunter Derrick; a daughter, Lynnette Boyd; and three sisters, Shirley Chambers, Kathleen Boatwright and Donna Boatwright.
