Simon and her husband Harold of Birmingham, AL; a sister Pearl Eileen Adams of Atlanta, GA and three grandsons, David Cullen Simon, Jesse Simon and Philip Simon. He was preceded in death by a grandson Russell Simon.

North Augusta, SC - Mr. Ralph T. Miller, Sr., 92, husband of the late Ada Vickers Miller, formerly of Fowkewood Court, entered into rest Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at University Hospital. His funeral service will be held this evening at 7:00 at the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 3:30 at Purvis cemetery in Douglas, GA. Mr. Miller, who was affectionately known as “Papa”, was a retired master carpenter. He was a member of Sweetwater Church of God and served in the US Army and US Air Force during WWII where he was a decorated veteran having been awarded the Purple Heart. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was faithful to his faith, his family and God. His sense of humor and his quiet expression of faith were an inspiration to many. His family will miss this “man of few words” who was truly a pillar of strength, model of courage and master of mischief. Mr. Miller is survived by two sons: Daniel Miller and Rev. Ted Miller; one daughter, Shirley Doolittle; one brother, Harry Miller; four sisters, Elsie Nash, Mary Terry, Pauline Alsobrook, and Joan Snell; ten grandchildren, Sherry McGraw, Ginger Custer, Marsha Schatz, Randy Crawford, Amanda Peede, Leah Garrison, Chrissy Sutton, Marty Nall, Lisa Van Hamme and Brice Doolittle; and eighteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Cubie Oglesbee.

North Augusta, SC - Mr. Boyce R. (Rudy) Lowry, 77, husband of Nancy S. Lowry, of Leigh Place, entered into rest on May 16, 2010 at National Healthcare. His funeral service will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel with Father Timothy M. Lijewski officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mr. Lowry was an avid bagpiper. He was the Past President of the Belvedere Lions Club and former president of Caledonia Society. He was a member of the Berry Benson Chapter of Sons of Confederate Veterans and a former member of Traffic Club. Mr. Lowry was also an active member of St. Johns Episcopal Church where he was a Lay Reader. He was a railroad engineer and was a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist. Additional survivors include two daughters, Tami Byrnes and husband Jim of North Augusta, SC and Mauri Lowry of Augusta, GA; one step son, Robert Shirley, Jr. of North Augusta, SC; two step daughters, Paige Cheape of North Augusta, SC and Dana Baker of Aiken, SC; one brother, Dana Lowry of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Joanne Clements of Belvedere, SC and Sandra Boyd of Marietta, GA; 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Preachers. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Byrnes, Robert Shirley, Jr., Harrison Dooley, Brandon Lowry, Scott Lowry, and Brandon Holcomb. Honorary Pallbearers will the Berry Benson Chapter of Sons of Confederate Veterans.

His funeral service will be held Monday, May 24, 2010, at 11:00 am at Belvedere First Baptist Church with Rev. John Meyer, Dr. Roy Head, Rev. Phillip McNeal, and Rev. Lloyd Prince officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Park. Mr. McDaniel was a native of Edgefield County. He was a member of Belvedere First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a Sunday School director and was on various other committees. Additional survivors include one brother, Coy T. McDaniel of Johnston, SC; two sisters, Azell Mundy of Belvedere, SC and Ann Burkhalter of Cedartown, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Charlie Francis and Nellie Holmes McDaniel. Pallbearers will be Ralph Robinson, James Fulmer, William Fulmer, Hamp Holmes, Tim Phillips, and Billy Williams. North Augusta, SC - Mrs. Minnie Mead Jenkins, 89, wife of the late Atticus Braswell Jenkins, Jr., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2010 with her children at her side. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:00 am at North Augusta Bible Chapel at 1050 Hammond Drive in North Augusta, SC with David McKie and Ted Stephens officiating. Interment service will follow at 1:30 pm at Burke Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, GA. Mrs. Jenkins, a native of Screven County, GA, had lived in North Augusta for over 41 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a faithful member of North Augusta Bible Chapel. She enjoyed sewing and many family members and friends had the pleasure of enjoying her special gift. Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her children (spouses), Pamela Andrews of Port Orange, FL, Carol Varley (Rob) of Haymarket, VA, Randall Jenkins (Angela) of North Augusta, SC and Patricia McKie (Trip) of North Augusta, SC; one brother, Gordon Mead (Virginia) of Waynesboro, GA; three sisters, Mary Forehead (Ray) of Hiltonia, GA, Martha Ann Daniel of Waynesboro, GA and Jackie Robbins (Doug) of Hattiesburg, MS; 9 grandchildren, Katina Parks, Eric Andrews, Leia Andrews, Karin Varley, Amy Young, Evan Jenkins, Ashlyn Jenkins, Harris McKie and Kyler McKie; 3 great grandchildren, Andrew Parks, Cale Parks and Jaeden Andrews; many nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Mickie Tice. She is preceded in death by her son, Richard Jenkins; her parents, John Gordon and Martha Etta Lovett Mead; her sisters, Mildred O’Pry and Christine Tanner; her brothers, Robert Mead, Thomas Mead, and Lovett Mead.

Mrs. Livingston was a native of Cleveland County, NC and has made her home in North Augusta for over 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the CSRA Camping Club, Jimmy Keller Sunday School Class, and the Sheffield Club. Nanny’s loved ones include: two sons: Ralph H (Sherrianne) McFarland, Trenton, SC, and Robert A. (Annette) McFarland of North Augusta; two daughters: Sarah (Milton) Scott of Keysville, GA and Janice McElmurray of North Augusta, SC; one sister: Helen Christensen of Provo, UT; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 5 great-step-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers: John Harrill & Max Harrill; two sisters: Pansy Olson & Barbara Gleave; one grandson: Randy Scott; and one son-in-law: Harold McElmurray. Mrs. Stelling was born in Aiken, SC and lived in North Augusta her entire life. She retired from Sun Trust Bank as a bookkeeper after forty years of service. Survivors include her sister, Frances Terwilliger; two nephews, Mal Terwilliger and David Terwilliger all of North Augusta; one great nephew, Danny Terwilliger; and three great nieces, Marie Phillips, Lisa Terwilliger, and Julie Terwilliger.
