(Harry, Jr.) Lewis of Dillon; ex-wife, Margaret Alford of Dillon; brothers, Wayne Alford of Dillon, Jerry Alford of Nashville, TN, Jim Alford of Virginia, and Bill Alford of Charlotte, NC; sister, Kathy Alford of Marion; grandchildren, Taylor Daniels, and Conor Lewis; friend, Charles (Jenny) Lilly.
Lula Mae Baker
FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Services for Lula Mae Baker will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday at Pee Dee Chapel Church in Clio, SC with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home in Dillon, SC. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baker, 93, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at her residence.
born in Marlboro County, SC, May 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Willie Jordan and Nellie Sweat Jordan Hatcher. She was a member of Pee Dee Chapel Church, and was a homemaker. She was the widow of the late Rob Vernon Baker.
Survivors include her son, Lacey Bailey of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Thelma Hunt of Clio, and Mary Radford of Bennettsville.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her son, James Roy Bailey; and daughter, Mildred Bailey.
William Clyde Lundy
LATTA - Memorial services for William Clyde Lundy will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bethesda Southern Methodist Church cemetery, Oak Grove. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lundy, 68, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
born in Mullins, SC, November 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Earle McKeithan Lundy and Irene Moody Lundy. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, retired from Becker Sand & Gravel Company after 30 plus years of service, then he worked for Vulcan Materials for 12 years. He was a member of the Oak Grove Neighborhood Watch, and he contributed and helped with the Community Pig Pickin. He loved fishing, realized his dream of fishing on the Amazon River in Brazil, and he was also an avid Golfer.
Survivors include his sisters, Patsy L. Watson (Steve) , and Vicky Jackson, both of Latta; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; 1 great-niece; 2 great-nephews; beloved siamese cats, Olive Oyl, Thelma & Louise.
Delton Boyd Herring
DILLON - Delton Boyd Herring infant son of Donald Herring and Amy Skipper Herring died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Survivors include his parents, Donald & Amy Herring of Dillon; grandmother, Pauline Herring of Dillon.
Delton was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delmea Herring and Bonnie & Boyd Skipper.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday in Evergreen cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.
Franklin James Sweat
LATTA - Services for Franklin James Sweat will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday in Shiloh Chapel with burial in Magnolia cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Sweat, 83, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at his residence with his daughter-in-law by his side.
born in Dillon County, May 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Elishia Sweat and Molly Scott Sweat.
Survivors include his son, James (Kim) Sweat of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Sweat of Latta; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sweat was preceded in death by his son, Lester Lee "Bud" Sweat.
Leonard M. Smith
ROCKY MOUNT, NC - Graveside services for Leonard M. Smith will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Riverside cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday in Cooper Funeral Home in Dillon, SC.
Mr. Smith, 95, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at his residence.
born in Smoaks, SC, January 11, 1917, he was the son of the late Addie R. Smith and Claudia Longdale Smith. He was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. He retired from Seaboard Coastline.
Survivors include his daughters, Angela Smith Crusenberry of Rocky Mount, NC, Betty Daniels Kapper of Spokane, WA, and Donna Daniels Newton of Greensboro, NC; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Verline Hayes Smith; and his brothers, Swanson C. Smith, and Cleyon Smith; and grandson, William Anthony Gaus.
Hettie Lou Carmichael Lee
Hettie Lou Carmichael Lee died May 11, 2012 at her residence following an illness. born September 21, 1940 in Mullins, SC, she was a daughter of the late Autrey Carmichael and the late Thelma Rogers Carmichael.
She was the widow of Marion W. {Bull} Lee. She was a graduate of Dillon High School and attended Columbia College. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dillon.
She is survived by her daughters Robin Moody (Danny) of Dillon, Lucinda Berent (John) of The Woodlands, Texas and Beth Pittman (Bryan) of Dillon. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Aaron Moody, Autrey Moody, Daniel Moody, Lauren Pittman, J.B. Pittman, Luke Pittman, Anna Berent and Ethan Berent: surviving are two sisters Mary Mac Stephens of Dillon and Flora Hopkins of Hartsville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Smith and a grandchild, Martha Moody.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Cooper Funeral Home in Dillon. Services will be held Sunday, May 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Dillon at 3pm with burial following at Riverside cemetery.

born in Baltimore, Maryland he was the son of Josie Miller Squires and the late Joseph William Squires. He was an Electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Squires of Dillon; son, Bradley (Jessie) Squires of Dillon; mother, Josie Squires of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Ava Rae Squires, Makayla, Colby, and Jacob Watts; sisters, Linda Squires and Donna Squires, both of Baltimore, MD.

Luther R. Jackson Sr.
DILLON -- Services for Luther R. Jackson Sr. will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002 in Dillon Church of God with burial in Greenlawn cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson, 81, died Friday, Jan. 4 in St. Eugene Medical Center.
born in Dillon County, March 26, 1920, he was the son of the late Rev. Hugh G. and Ida Taylor Jackson. He was educated in the public schools of Dillon County. He was a member of Dillon Church of God where he served as church clerk for 29 years and where he was active in all phases of church work, Sunday School Superintendent, member of pastors council and a trustee. He retired from management at Dixiana Mill as a Quality Control Supervisor. After retirement he was active in voluntary work. He served as president of the Mohawk Retirees Association, member of the City of Dillon election commission and was active in promoting The National Day of Prayer. He also conducted devotions for several years at The Pines Convalescent Home. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion, The D.A.V., and The American Family Association. He was a freelance writer for the Dillon Herald and the publications. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Coward Jackson.
Survivors include his sons, Milton B. Jackson of Montgomery, Ala., and Luther R. Jackson Jr. of Stoneville, N.C.; sister, Ruth White of Dillon; and three grandchildren.
Catherine Brown
DILLON -- Catherine Brown died January 2, 2002 in Williamsburg Virginia.
She was a daughter of the late Herbert and Neddie Hulon Hughes.
Survivors are daughter Shirley King of Mullins, S.C. and sons, Buster Harrelson of Williamsburg, Virginia and Randy Harrelson of Florence, S.C.; 16 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Joe Brown and Daughter Miriam Jackson.
Funeral services will be Sunday January 6, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Kannadays Funeral Home in Dillon with burial at Greenlawn cemetery in Dillon directed by Kannadays Funeral Home of Dillon.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, January 5, 2002 from 6-8 p.m.
Mary Carolyn Alford
HEMINGWAY -- Rev. Mary Carolyn Alford, widow of Armoston Moses Alford, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 in a Florence hospital.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 in Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Joe Cagle. Burial will follow in The Garden of Devotion cemetery.
She was born Aug. 13, 1942 in Oxford, N.C., a daughter of Emma E. Oliver Chandler Schroth and the late Clifton H. Chandler Sr.
She was a minister of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Surviving are her mother of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two sons, Kim E. Thaxton of Johnsonville and James E. Thaxton Jr. of Lake City; two daughters, Mary E. Dennis of Johnsonville and Angela Fowler of Hemingway; two brothers, Clifton H. Chandler Jr. of Bel Air, Md., and Thomas L. Chandler of Ft. Myers, Fla.; four sisters, Patricia A. Hylton of Eden, N.C., Gwedolyn F. Dalton and Nina I. Lampert, both of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Marie E. Wickham of Risen Sun, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Floyd Eaddy
LAKE CITY -- Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Eaddy Sr. will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002 from Bethel A.M.E. Church in the Camerontown Community of Lake City with the Rev. Eric Fladger officiating and burial in Cameron cemetery directed by Green's Funeral Home.
Mr. Eaddy, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 2. He was born in Lake City, a son of the late Henry and Carrie Cameron Eaddy.
He was loyal member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Will Do Masonic Lodge No. 322 and retired from Wellman Industries of Johnsonville. He was married
to the late Louvenia Fleming Eaddy.
Surviving are two sons, Floyd (Ellen) Eaddy Jr. and Adolph (Dorothy) Eaddy, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Jimmie Eaddy of Washington, D.C.; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
