MARIETTA, Ga. -- Mr. Charles Edward Richardson, 66, of Marietta, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001.
Mr. Richardson was employed with Dobbins Air Force Base, Department of Defense Security. He retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years as a Master Sergeant with the special Forces/Green Beret. He was also in the 82nd Airborne.
He is survived by wife, Lynn Richardson; daughters, Sharon R. Timmons of Aurora, Colo., and Wanda J. Richardson of Goose Creek; sons, Donald L. Richardson of Aurora, Colo., Stanley Brett Coker of Marietta, Ga., and Shannon L. Coker of Kingstree; sisters, Joan Bragg of Summerville, Betty Orvin of St. Stephens, Margaret Malphrus of Moncks Corner and Yvonne Jones of West Columbia; brothers, Harvey Richardson and Allen Richardson, both of Moncks Corner, Billy Richardson of Orlando, Fla., Jimmy Richardson of Kingstree and Danny Richardson of Blythewood; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 9, 2001 at the Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel, Austell, Ga.
Caroline Norton Moran
SILVER SPRINGS, Md. -- Memorial services for Caroline Norton Moran, 58, formerly of Marion, will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Silver Spring, Md. on Sept. 19, 2001. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at Rose Hill cemetery in Marion, conducted by Rev. Sally Putnam and directed by Richardson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moran died at her home in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 following an illness. born in New Orleans, La., she was the wife of Charles A. Moran and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Norton, Jr. She was an honor graduate of Marion High School and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She also earned a post- graduate degree from Wesleyan Seminary in Washington, D.C. She was manager of her husband's legal office until shortly before her death.
Mrs. Moran is survived by her husband; daughters, Theresa (Keith) Perkins of Silver Spring, Md and Anne (James) Golden of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren, Wanda, Sylvia and Dorothy Perkins and Ross Golden; her parents of Marion; sisters, Evelyn (DeWitt) Myatt of Easton, Md. and Alice (John) Barnes of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, William B. Norton III of Murrells Inlet; and two nieces and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Church of the Advent Youth Services, P.O. Box 888, Marion, SC 29571 or to a charity of one's choice.
Dawson Barnwell Windham
PAMPLICO -- Dawson Barnwell Windham, 85, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001 in a Florence hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Windham was born in Florence County, a son of the late Josey Mann and Mary Elizabeth Shepard Windham. He was a retired farmer and a member of Black Oak Hunting Club and also attended Christian Fellowship.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Poston Windham of Pamplico; one daughter, Harriett (Jimmy) Graham of Lake City; three sons, Ronnie (Sue) Windham and Randy Windham, both of Pamplico, and Jerold Windham of Charleston; one sister, Louise W. Smithey of Scranton; three brothers, Roy (Ann) Windham of Marion, Cecil Windham of Florence and Lewis (Marie) Windham of Marion; ten grandchildren, Karen (Russell) McClary of Kingstree, Dean (Becky) Windham of Scranton, Brad (Lisa) Windham of Charleston, Wanda (Donnie) Springs of Scranton, Cindy (Jim) Hatcher of Cleveland, Ga., Patty (Michael) Brown of Lake City, Sandra (Don) Gaskins of Hartsville, Kristi (Mike) Provau of Pamplico, Marty Windham of Pamplico and Glenda Windham of Charlotte, NC and 16 great grandchildren.
Mr. Windham was predeceased by one grandson, Scott Windham; one brother, Gene Windham; two sisters, Ruth Windham and Elizabeth Barnes.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001 in the Stone Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the Riverside cemetery, Pamplico, SC.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Stone Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1996 W. Highway 378, Pamplico, SC 29583.

Ralph Stephens
OATES -- Ralph Edward Stephens, 70, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at his home after an illness. Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m. on Monday in Elim United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home, Lamar.
Mr. Stephens was born in Darlington County, son of the late Donald E. and Hattie Welch Stephens. He was a former employee of Sonoco Products and retired owner and operator of Stephens Inventory. He was an avid golfer and member of Elim United Methodist Church where he was actively involved in many and various church committees.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Moody Stephens of Oates; two sons, Ricky (Laura) Stephens and David Stephens both of Florence; grandchildren, Brittany, Charlotte, Corey, Tara and Whit Stephens.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Clifton Stephens, a son, Tommy Stephens and brother, Allen Stephens.
Memorials are suggested to Elim United Methodist Church, c/o Muryl Gardner, 3586 Oates Highway, Lamar, S.C. 29069.
Carlos J. Ham
DARLINGTON -- Carlos J. Ham, 26, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be noon Saturday, Oct. 6 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Donald Hughes, pastor, and Evangelist Flossie Gibson, assistant pastor of Westside Temple Holiness Church, officiating directed by Boatwright's Chapel on Main. Burial will follow in Hart No. 2 cemetery.
Mr. Ham was born in Darlington on Dec. 29, 1974 to Mary Ham and Robert Stucks. He was a member of Westside Temple Holiness Church where his grandfather is the pastor. He attended St. John's High School.
Surviving are his mother of the home; his father Robert (Denise) Stucks of New Jersey; his grandparents, Bishop Robert Lee and Nancy Lee Ham, and Sammie Stucks, all of Darlington; three brothers, Robbie and Tavion Stucks of Darlington and Tremaine King of New Jersey; two aunts, Pamela Ham of Florence and Janice (Robert) Williams of Darlington; and seven uncles, William, Frank, Charles, Robert Jr. and Agustus (Elleanor) Ham, all of Darlington, Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Nettles and David Sharif Amin, all of New Jersey.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 713 Sapphire St.
D. Charlene Smith Turbeville
MULLINS -- Mrs. D. Charlene Smith Turbeville, 37, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001 at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside cemetery directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Turbeville was born Nov. 26, 1963 in Mullins, a daughter of James Herman Smith and Linda Pulley. Mrs. Turbeville was a nursing home assistant activities director. She was a graduate of Mullins High School and a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College. She was a member of Gapway Baptist Church.
Surviving are her mother, Linda Pulley, and her husband Cutty Hunnicutt of Mullins; her father, James Herman Smith, and his wife Clara of Mullins; a son, Grayson Daniel Smith; a brother, James Earl Smith of Mullins; her maternal grandmother, Bernice Fowler Pulley of Mullins; her paternal stepgrandmother, Eulale Guess Hunnicutt of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepbrother, Scott Hunnicutt of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two stepsisters, Dee H. Kirby of Jacksonville, Fla., and Deanna Lewis of Floydale.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Mark Edward White
JOHNSONVILLE -- Mark Edward White, 56, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001 at his home.
Mr. White was born in Hannah, SC, a son of Beulah Poston White and the late Stanley E. White. He was a claims adjuster for Geico Insurance Co., a member of the Indiantown Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Hannah High School and Atlantic Christian College.
Surviving are his wife, Amy Hinton White of the home; son, Matthew White of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth (Terry) Hyman of Florence and Laura (Brian) Hunt of Hartsville; mother, Beulah P. White of Johnsonville; two sisters, Kathy (Jimmy) Poston and Genevieve (James) Weaver, both of Johnsonville; granddaughter, Anna Coleman Hyman of Florence.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Union Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kenneth Earl Mance Jr.
MANNING -- Kenneth Earl Mance Jr., a son of Georgia Moye Mance and Kenneth E. Mance Sr. was born in Florence, South Carolina Oct. 7, 1977.
Kenneth was a member of Trinity AME Church, Manning, South Carolina. During his youth, he served on the Children's Choir, Usher Board and with the Young People's Department.
He graduated from Manning High School with honors and accepted a four year athletic scholarship to Charleston Southern University and earned a degree in business.
Kenneth was a teacher and assistant coach with Florence City School District #4. He taught business education and coached football, basketball and track.
Kenneth also played professional football for one year with the Charleston Swamp Fox Arena Football League.
Kenneth is survived by his parents, Georgia Moye Mance and Kenneth E. Mance Sr.; a devoted brother and sister, Brian K. Mance, Clemson, SC and Keyna L. Mance, Yonker, N.Y.; and one niece, Kadijah Mance of Yonker, N.Y.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity AME Church, Ribgy Street, Manning with the Rev. John A. Ferederick officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens in Florence.
Fleming-Delaine Funeral Home of Manning is in charge of services.
Lillian Green
DARLINGTON -- Funeral service for Mrs. Lillian Green will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001 at Round O Missionary Baptist Church in Darlington with the Rev. Michael McMillan, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by Jordan Funeral Home of Darlington.
Mrs. Green, 95, died Sunday, Oct. 7. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late David Poole and Connie Rubin Josey. Her husband, Jessie Green Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are being received at the residence of a niece, Mrs. Albertine Green, 1415 Mechanicsville Highway, Darlington.
Ruby Elizabeth Gibson
GALLIVANTS FERRY -- Ruby Elizabeth Gibson, 46, of Gallivants Ferry, died Saturday morning, Sept. 29, 2001 at the residence of her sister in Florence after an illness.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Eastside Christian Church.
Mrs. Gibson was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Lucius Reese and Sarah Elizabeth Hayward Gibson. She was employed as an electrician by Melton Electric and was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Tabor City, N.C.
Surviving are her husband, Bill Phillips of the home; a daughter, Julia Mellendy Barnes Gill of Pamplico; two sons, Jimmy John Barnes of Sumter and Joseph Paul Barnes of Florence; a brother, Reese Gibson of Gallivants Ferry; a sister, Mary McLendon of Florence; a stepson, Chris Sheets of Murrells Inlet; a sister-in-law, Julie Ann Reynolds of Lynchburg; three granddaughters; three nieces; and two nephews.
The family is at the residence of Mary McLendon, 138 Pine Court Circle, Florence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society, 1007 Stockade Drive, Florence, S.C. 29506.
Lucille Calcutt Lovette
FLORENCE -- Lucille Calcutt Lovette, 77, of Florence, died Friday, September 28, 2001 in McLeod Regional Medical Center. born May 21, 1924, in Pamplico, SC, she was the daughter of the late Morris McLaurin Calcutt and Gussie Lois Poston Calcutt. She was the wife of the late Walker L. Lovette.
Mrs. Lovette was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church
She is survived by two sons, Roger W. Brown and his wife, Georgia of Columbia, SC, Steve R. Brown of Florence; a daughter, Jane P. Pedro and husband, Ted of Elwood, Indiana; a brother, Morris A. Calcutt of Alberquerque, N. Mexico; and two sisters, Nina C. Eaddy of Florence and Wildred Ann C. Cooper of Pamplico. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2001 from 6-8pm, at Cain-Poston Funeral Home, 512 West Second Loop Road, Florence, SC. Graveside Services will be Sunday, September 30, 2001 at 2:00pm at Mount Hope cemetery with Rev. James Allen Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope cemetery.
Funeral services are being directed by Cain-Poston Funeral Home.
Helen Hart
COLUMBIA -- Service for Helen Yarborough Hart, 51, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Ms. Hart died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001. born in Florence County, she was a daughter of Robert James Yarborough and Evelyn Jordan Adee. She was a safety director for Ideal Construction Company.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Teena Hart of Lexington; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Hart and Dan Steele of Summerville; brothers, Bill Yarborough of Coward; Pete Yarborough of Scranton, and the Rev. Dale Yarborough of Alma, Ga.; grandson, Dalton Hart; her mother of Florence; her father of Scranton; four special nephews, Robert Foskey, Kevin Yarborough, Roger Yarborough and Dwayne Yarborough; one special niece, Lisa Lee and her babies BoPeep, Teddy and ET.
