HONEA PATH — Robert Daniel “Danny” “Clyde” Clinkscales, 53, of 10 U St., died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late David and Ollie Pressley Clinkscales. He was a graduate of Geer-Gantt High School and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Prince Clinkscales of Piedmont, David Patterson and Titus Patterson of Greenville; two daughters, Alisha Clinkscales and Jackie Jamison of Honea Path; his wife, Jean Jamison of Honea Path; two sisters, the Rev. Linda C. Posley of Hodges and Ernestine Williams of Honea Path; and eight grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Harrison. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.

James ‘Jim’ Crawford
CONYERS, Ga. — James “Jim” Crawford, 76, husband of Priscilla A. Crawford, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at his home.
A native of Greenwood County, S.C., he was a son of the late Jimmie and Wadie Crawford and a former employee of Riegel Textile Corp., Ware Shoals, S.C.
Survivors include his wife of Conyers; five children, Paul Crawford of Charlestown, Ind., Adam Crawford of Fairdale, Ky., Sandra June of Covington, John Crawford of Visalia, Calif., and Daryl Crawford of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five siblings, Jetti Pitt, John Crawford, Rosalie Crawford and Nancy Whitt, all of Ware Shoals and Faye McCullough of Honea Path, S.C.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Ward’s Rockdale Chapel.

SPARTANBURG — Barbara Kennedy Glymph, 73, of 4045 Anderson Mill Road, formerly of 226 St. Matthews Lane, widow of Harold S. Glymph, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late James Kennedy and Louise Kennedy Arnold. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and a retired registered nurse from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Harolynn Glymph Smales of Spartanburg and Mrs. Michael (Pamela Glymph) Dantzler of the home; four brothers, James Kennedy of Detroit, Lewis “Butch” Kennedy of Greenwood, Frank Arnold of Seattle and Zachary Arnold of Greer; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. B.D. Snoddy. Burial is in Heritage Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Visitation is at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Michael C. and Pamela Glymph Dantzler, 4045 Anderson Mill Road.

Johnny Ledford
WARE SHOALS — Johnny Welburn Ledford, 65, of 11 Hampton St., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at his home.
born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Willis Carnell and Winnie Mae Whitman Ledford. He was a retired Air Force master sergeant and a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Anderson.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny Ray Ledford of Donalds, James Willis Ledford and Jeffrey Lawrence Ledford, both of the home; four daughters, Donna Lynn Clark of Pendleton, Saundra Fay LeCroy and Kimberly Michelle Greene, both of the home and Rebecca Lee Barnhill of Silsbee, Texas; a sister, Judy Ann Harvey of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, Bernie Sutherland of Taylors; 18 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at Blyth Funeral Home. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Honea Path – Ernest Olin Phillips, 52, of 9 Beasley Drive, husband of Barbara Jane Baldwin Phillips died Sunday at his home.
born in Anderson County he was a son of Olin and Maude Hall Phillips. He was retired from Maxxim Medical and had served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years. He was a member of Donalds Church of God. He enjoyed cooking, camping and fishing with his family.
Surviving are his wife of the home, his parents of Honea Path, two daughters, Lisa P. Couch of Honea Path and Jennifer Phillips of Donalds, one brother, Terry Phillips of Honea Path, one sister, Angelia Rawski of Honea Path, one grandson, Brayden Couch of Honea Path, and a canine companion “MoMo”.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Donalds Church of God with Rev. Robert Emory officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories, Belton.

William Sharpton Jr.
ABBEVILLE — William C. Sharpton Jr., 78, of 107 McGowan Ave., husband of Carolyn Fisher Sharpton, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
born in Abbeville, he was a son of the late William C. Sharpton Sr. and Margaret Louise Smith Sharpton. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and retired as a resident maintenance engineer from the Abbeville Maintenance Shop, S.C. Department of Highways and Public Transportation, after 41 years of service. A Navy veteran serving in the China-Burma-India Theatre, he attended Abbeville schools.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Nell S. Jones of Greenwood; two sons, William B. Sharpton of Lexington and Neal C. Sharpton of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Evelyn S. Norris and Dorothy S. Harmon, both of Abbeville, Mildred S. Byars of Rock Hill and Sara S. Arters of New Castle, Del.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. today at Harris Funeral Home. Burial is at a later date.

IVA — Charles Elsworth Fairchild, 61, of 503 Tency Drive, husband of Jean Fairchild, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
born in Nyack, N.Y., he was a son of the late Lester Fairchild and Dorothy Shaffer Fairchild. He formerly worked for the S.C. Dept. of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife of the home; stepmother, Helen Fairchild of Bloomingburg, N.Y.; three sons, Keith Fairchild and Charles Fairchild Jr., both of Iva, Roberts Skinner of Middletown, N.Y.; two daughters, Cheryl Smith of Iva and Yvonne Watson of Ohio; five brothers, Lester Fairchild of Middletown, N.Y., Walter Fairchild of Pennsylvania, Russell Fairchild of Schenvus, N.Y., Clayton Fairchild and Dennis Fairchild, both of Bloomingburg, N.Y.; a sister, Betty Hood of Anderson; and seven grandchildren.

Thomas L. Hammond, 74, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at the Windermere Nursing Facility, Augusta, Ga.
born in Edgefield County, he was a son of the late Meadie and Sarah Scott Hammond. He was a member of Carey Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Clarks Hill and a retired textile employee.

GEORGETOWN — Charles Bailey Mathews, 66, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at a local nursing home.
born in Greenwood, he was a son of Bailey Mathews and Alpha Walton Mathews. He was a retired supervisor for Bi-Lo and a Marine veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood; two daughters, Kemberly E. Mathews of Atlanta and Jamie M. Mathews of Summerville; a son, Marcus C. Mathews of Atlanta; and a sister, Shirley Christian of Greenwood.

EVANSTON, ILL. — William “Kemp” Fuller, 72, husband of Jean Fuller, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004.
born in Abbeville, he was a son of the late Ellis and Daisy Fuller. He attended Abbeville public schools, served in the Air Force during the Korean War, was a taxi drive for over 50 years and a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Evanston.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Linda Yates, Crystal Wilson and Ivy Anderson, all of Evanston, Ill.; a son, William Fuller of Tennessee; two sisters, Mary Crawford of Detroit and Janie Wardlaw of Abbeville; two brothers, James Fuller and Thomas Fuller, both of Evanston, Ill.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services were Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. Oscar Crear.
