Milton Rice
Milton Harmon Rice, 90, of 110 Larkspur Lane, widower of Eleanor Tanner Rice, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at his home.
born in Canandaigua, N.Y., he was a son of the late Charles H. and Jennie Lorene Meade Rice. He retired as a mechanical engineer from The Titchner Co., Binghamton, N.Y. A member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church, he was a former member of Binghamton Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Laurie J. Harlost, with whom he lived, Marsha L. Luce of Rockville, Md., and Kathleen G. Delrossi of Medford, Mass.; a sister, Lucile Hinchey of Providence, R.I.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services are planned for a later date. Entombment is in Graceland East cemetery Mausoleum, Simpsonville.

DONALDS – Margaret Elsie Motes Beasley, 89, of 1284 Willie Kay Rd., widow of Otis Beasley, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Self Regional Health Care.
born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late John Winster and Nora Page Motes. She was retired from the Honea Path Shirtmakers and was a member of Donalds Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Beasley of Donalds and Sonny Beasley of Belton; three daughters, Diane Beasley Shaw of Donalds, Nancy Beasley Bratcher of Belton, and Mary Beasley Crenshaw of Donalds; one sister, Sara Rice of Honea Path; two grandsons, Robert Bratcher and wife Donna, and Steven Bratcher; two great-grandchildren, Annalyce Bratcher and Camden Bratcher; three step-grandchildren, Mike Shaw, Kevin Shaw, and Donna Turner; three step-great-grandchildren, Kemp Collins, Mick Turner, and Megan Shaw. She was predeceased by five brothers, Rob Motes, Albert Motes, Ansel Motes, Leon Motes, and Willie Motes; by three sisters, Lillie Mae Bell, Bertha Timms and Lydie Kelly; and by one granddaughter, Allison Beasley Wilson. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the exceptional care given by her Home Healthcare nurses.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday at Donalds Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Hill and Rev. Carroll Plemmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body is at Pruitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. Saturday. The family is at the home.

born in Schenectady, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Jan and Louise Podgorska Tralka.
Survivors include a daughter, Johanna Hagen Black of Iva; a son, Francis “Frank” W. Hagen of Abbeville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Estelle Tralka Mueller of Palm Harbor, Fla.
Memorial services are 2 p.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home. Burial is at a later date in Holy Cross cemetery, North Arlington, Va.

PHILADELPHIA — John Lindell Johnson, 51, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004 at his home.
born in Greenwood, S.C., he was a son of the late Alma Norman-Johnson and John Henry Johnson. He served in the military and was retired from the Postal Service in Philadelphia.
Survivors include a stepmother, Sarah F. Johnson of Greenwood; four daughters, Cheyenne Johnson, Lakiesha Johnson, Tory Johnson and Desiree Johnson, all of Philadelphia; four sons, John L. Johnson III of New Jersey, Shaun Johnson and Jay Johnson, both of Philadelphia and Chris Coleman of Greenwood; five sisters, Gloria Bostick-Gaskin of Philadelphia, Connie J. Logan, Mrs. Mark A. (Brenda) Logan, Mrs. Ronald (Diana) Donaldson, all of Greenwood and Mrs. Mark (Charleen) Henderson of Lyman; and two brothers, Patrick Johnson and Bobby Johnson of Greenwood.

Dr. Vernon Moore
GREENWOOD — Vernon Barry Moore, 83, of 209 Forest Lane, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Moore was a graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical School and a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He practiced medicine in Greenwood from 1950 to 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Kathryn White Moore; two sons, Barry Moore of Fort Payne, AL and Allan Moore of Greenwood and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Moore.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Dr. Donald Hawthorne and Dr. Tony Hopkins officiating.

Timmy Lee Patterson
Timmy Lee Patterson Sr., 41, of 122 Utopia Acres, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at his home.
born in St. George, he was a son of Mattie Patterson Holloway and the late Sammie Lee Patterson. He was a member of Straight Gate Church of God, McCormick and a 1982 McCormick High School graduate. He was employed by the City of Greenwood Public Works.
Survivors include his mother of Ninety Six; a companion of the home, Patricia Ann Freeman; two sons, Ladavious Patterson and Timmy Lee Patterson Jr., a stepson, Travares Gamble of the home; a sister, Mrs. Melvin (Mary P.) Searles of McCormick; a brother, James Patterson of Atlanta; and a stepfather, John Albert Holloway of Ninety Six.
Services are at noon Saturday at Refuge Church of Greenwood, conducted by Elder Melvin Searles, assisted by Elder Robert Brown. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Burial is in Straight Gate Church of God cemetery.

Jimmy Gragg
NINETY SIX, SC – James Clark “Jimmy” Gragg, 43, of 3016 Highway 702, Ninety Six, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 near Simpsonville from injuries received in an automobile accident.
born in Statesville, NC, he was a son of Monia Campbell Gragg and the late Herbert C. “Hub” Gragg. He moved to South Carolina from Hickory, NC in 1979 and was a carpenter with Carlisle Construction Company in Greenville. He was an avid sports and NASCAR fan and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph William “Joe” Gragg. Surviving is his mother of the home; two daughters, Jayme Amanda “Mandy” Gragg of Ninety Six and Samantha Paige “Sam” Gragg of Fountain Inn; a grandson, Damien “Little Dude” Joseph Wright of Ninety Six; two brothers, Johnny Lee Gragg and his wife, Julie, of Connelly Springs, NC and Jeffrey Dean Gragg of Ninety Six; his maternal grandmother, Sarah Juanita Sharpe of Greenwood; a nephew, Joe’s son, Shane Donovan Moss of Ninety Six; a cousin, Jeannie Caparell and her sons, Jason and Jordan, all of Ninety Six; his aunt and uncle, Clara and Richard Able of Ninety Six; his beloved companion, Wanda Kay White and dear friend, Brian Richardson, both of Fountain Inn and a number of relatives in North Carolina.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating. Entombment will be in cannon Memorial Park Mausoleum, Fountain Inn.
